Okay, this was a major improvement on ep 1, thought this would be a typical mindless death game but it seems to have some layers to it as well as being freaky as hell. That looked like Claire at the end to me, good amount of suspense to keep interested in this ep.

Two points that kinda makes this show drop its score, first giving fan service as form of
hentai dialogues, second killing that girl when she was completely harmless before asking
her any questions most people would be vulnerable before knocking the doors of death.
and having a powerless MC is too much mediocrity at this day and age... sadly he couldn't.

No, scene of Clair entering Shuichi body is fanservice (even I would say good fanservice if not their age), pantsu shots (especially during bridge scene) were unnecessary fanservice.

People like this guy immediately expecting to have these perfect and likable characters ahahaha. I think the things that make you hate these characters right now just show how well they must be written and how we'll get that sweet, sweet character development later down the line.

These characters just feel so? human? real? The Guy MC does kinda seem like a wimp but I can relate to him. Trying to do the right thing but being heavily manipulated by Clair. She's such an easy to hate character but I love it at the same time. Kind of reminds me of an ex or two of mine tbh haha.

I agree. He suffers from Shinji syndrome from Evangelion, but I find that a realistic trait in characters. Clair has power over him right now because she's more mature. I think this would be boring if he was "likable".

I feel like this whole anime is going to be some sort of metaphor for an abusive relationship, or a toxic one at the very least. The suit Shuichi transforms into is a manifestation of his core personality: he wants to hide from the world, not drawing any attention to himself (burying that dog all by himself, not letting anyone worry, dismissing that girl's concerns), and is empty as a result, no motivations or ambition (seen from the fact that he turned down the college recommendation and wished for death at the warehouse). The only way to fill that emptiness is through love and acceptance. Problem is, the person who is literally filling that hole inside of him is a horrible person, utilizing his strength for her own gain and use, and not teaching him to grow as a person himself. I feel like the ending is going to be Shuichi realizing this, and turning on Clair (breaking up with her, metaphorically speaking).

So yeah, I'm liking it so far. I'm going to be really pissed if he actually ends up together with Clair, because, thematically, it does not fit at all.

I mean, this was basically that evangelion episode where Gendo kills Toji but without the same emotional weight and consequences, good sakuga though.
However, there are a lot of plot holes and inconsistencies: that villain girl is shown to know something about the coin stuff by calling them gatherers, but it also looks like she gained her powers recently, so where did she learn those things? Thru the vending machine guy? Then why not show what he told her? also the main girl's motivations are completely unknown, did she kill the other girl so cold blooded because it was in her nature or was she scheming something? either way her character is not set up properly.
The best thing about this episode was the villain, such a good characters with a short yet comprehensive backstory alluding to a lot of 3dimensioanlity, which was way better than any other character shown by now honestly.

Honestly i dont know how i feel about this show and this episode kind of encapsulated it. On one hand you have the cringey dialogue and the very unsubtle and gratuitous fanservice/sex metaphors. On the other hand we have some really great action sequences here and i kind of want to see more of that.

I designated this as my trashy anime of the season, but when this episode started I was kind of wondering if I should drop it, because the exchange between Clare and the main character was boring me. Then that damn fight scene happened. It not only had great animation with good fight choreography, but also the brutality existed without being obnoxious. The show could have done the whole leg snapping thing and practically exclaimed "LOOK, WE BROKE HER LEG, ISN'T THAT FUCKED UP? OH MAN WE'RE SO BRUTAL" and just focused on it for too long, but it instead felt like the leg snapping had a consequence but came and went, not overstaying it's welcome.

This still doesn't feel anymore than a trashy popcorn entertainment anime for me, but a very fun and competent trashy anime when the action's heavy, and even as trash it's still one of the better trashy shows to the point where if it actually gets better I'd hesitate to call it trash.

The creator jam packed the manga with it so better prepare your delicate sensibilities now because it's going to be increasing. Ecchi tag means Ecchi. Deal with it.

The fight in the Anime was much better than the manga. I was pretty surprised by how good it looked.

I think many people didn't like it from the first episode due to the lack of action.

Getting in the sense of the show for this episode, it's leaps better than the first in terms of presentation.

Shuichi's monster form is essentally a mecha tag, and Claire's becoming Zero Two in this situation to fend off their enemies straight from the start.

NGL, the fight's better in the anime, and more exposition's coming out from the slow adaptation which makes the experience worthwhile, not to mention the sexual metaphors.

Despite the criticism, will be continuing to see what this show's have in store.

Only when you have Self-Confidence & a way to defend yourself, should you think about MORALITY issue.

I don't understand how people see a pussy in him. Being scared to death, if you are turning into this and not wanting to kill someone is absolutely normal, but I don't know, if I feel like I want to continue tho. Although the animation was pretty good, still becoming 2edgy4me very soon. (Yes that edgy, not that other ecchi), mainly bc of Clair.
I liked the concept, but I'm tired of "crazy" characters and the cheap sex metaphors. Come on now... I'm going inside you :).
But I'm not sure about the dropping part either, so I'll see.

I've seen it like this too. "You're empty" it's a bit too clear they don't only mean his physical condition.

I enjoyed this episode, I wasn't expecting this at all I couldn't have seen this coming until I realized. "Oh he's empty inside, I bet shes going to crawl inside."
Though the sexual innuendos were predictable I enjoyed them, the concept of being "one" also reminded me of Darling in the FranXX. I get Mirai Nikki vibes and I truly am excited for more.

I was surprised they actually killed the girl, I enjoy that it got to the point there was no hesitation either. It was uncomfortable for me and anime rarely does that anymore!

Well, first things first, that fight sequence was so damn sick. Animation was absolutely impressive, choreography was quite good and particularly, I really loved how well the intensity and brutality of the punches were portrayed.

Regarding characters, Shuuichi is still exasperating and Claire... I think I'm liking her a bit more after this episode. Her presence is oddly captivating and though she's a still a crazy-ass bitch, I'm actually surprised to note that she seems to be more "considerate" (kinda) than I originally thought. At least with Shuuichi tho. Plus, her killing that noisy tomboy with no hesitation was highly appreciated.

Overall, better than the mediocre first episode but mostly due to its fantastic action scenes.
