----------------------------------------
The finale felt more or less like most of the other episodes.

The mystery of the case reaches its closure as the truth comes out. I think the feeling of this episode continued to establishes Holmes as someone who can fire back at someone with his words and analysis. Seeing that bold guy showing his frustration is almost amusing but this rivalry is coming to a close.

I think the show was okay overall. Felt like a mixture of shoujo and mystery. Wish they built more with Holmes and Aoi's relationship though.

I really enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. It was a breath of fresh air compared to all the darker shows out this season.

But the ending! I knew they’d never tell each other how they felt about each other. And I doubt this would get a second season. If it does, I’ll definitely watch it.

Good premise, nice story, fucking atrocious animation and character design. I wanted to see what will happen and didn't want to look at this crap at the same time. There's just no excuse to air something looking so bad.

Very nice final episode. Too bad that Aoi didn't confess, yet at the same time it's fitting ending this way.

Solid show overall. Like already mentioned, cool premise with some interesting mysteries and cute moments. Of course they could've done a lot more, yet at the same time it was way more than I had expected from an adaptation of studio Seven. Anyways, it was fine the way it was. Simple and got the job done.

Okay episode. I fucking called it when she wasn't able to confess since it's not the kind of show where a confession was truly necessary.

Overall, it wasn't the worst show of this season, but it definitely was a disappointing one, with quite a few asspulls with some of its mysteries.

I was hoping for a mystery series, even if it wasn't a dark one - Aside from a few episodes (which were a refreshing breath of fresh air), it wasn't.
I was hoping for a series that would get a little bit into the weeds on antique appraising, as a lot of anime and manga do when they get into a particular topic - it didn't.
I was hoping that the romance plot would start to go somewhere by the end of the season - it started to, but unless we get a second season that plot isn't going to progress in an anime.
I wanted to like this show, and I toughed it out through the season in the hopes that it would turn a corner, but it didn't, and that bummed me out.

I don't know what some people were expecting from this show tbh....
I found it a decent show which tried to tackle interesting concept of appraisal and mix it with shoujo genre. Though most of the times I found the mystery aspect a bit haphazard and too convenient, at least it's fairly interesting. I also quite like the main characters. 7/10

I totally agree with one of the earlier comments- the animation was fucking awful. I really liked the show, but aside from just being enjoyable only a few of the mysteries were actually cool to watch. The character building was pretty shit, and I felt like the story really went nowhere. I'm really bummed that Aoi didn't confess.

So "the moon is beautiful" can be interpreted as "I love you" in Japanese? Fitting from Holmes I suppose. I think Aoi's decision in the end was a realistic one, so I won't hate on it.

Overall, decent anime.

Well the ending was quite normal.. and I now think that Ensho is not that bad of a person.. I also liked the 'jealousy' part of the episode which was unexpected..
Overall it was a nice series with some really good mysteries.
Another season wouldn't hurt but only if they improved the animation..

Wasn't expecting quality animation after I found out this is a studio that makes hentai. I don't think Studio Seven should continue producing these types of shows with this lackluster animation. They should just stick to what they're good at. I'll give them props for doing it though. Story was alright, but otherwise there was nothing memorable.

This didn’t feel like a finale episode at all, and not in a good way either. Ok animation, cohesive enough story, and likable enough characters. (6/10)

Kind of a lukewarm ending, as far as the ‘romance’ was concerned... But, I liked pretty much everything else about it. I think, overall, each episode left me mostly satisfied. But, I could never quite shake the feeling that they should’ve been a bit longer, to really develop the mysteries and characters.

Another great show has ended!
Damn! Aoi wasn't able to directly say she love Kiyotaka-kun! just a monologue that she loves him! It's like romance that keeps us always hanging!
So both Holmes-san and Enshou are jealous of each other! not yaoi but in a complicated rivalry way! lolz
No kiss but at least we have a hug and for sure both love each other its just that they want to keep it steady but slow!
5/5.
8/10.

Enshou is still offensive as ever, I'm surprise he didn't do those counterfeit testing on Holmes.

Overall it was sweet for Holmes to protect Aoi in the entire but it prevented her from shining in the series, personally I hate helpless characters who need protecting and it made Holemes shine more.

Imo, Holmes is just another overpowered anime MC Bastard who leeches off other characters and wasn't impressive at all. He's deductions are overpowered AF.

5/10.

Fairly enjoyable series. Animation wasn't great, but I have seen worse. This anime had nice feeling to it, and I liked the characters. Even if I didn't really like damsel in distress feeling Aoi sometimes had. Especially this episode it happened quite a few times.

Overall this was a good last episode, even if it didn't have that feeling of conclusion. However in a way it's fitting for this show. One fault I find is that romance had little to no progression in this, even if it's not entirely uncommon for shoujo genre, I think this series could use it. But I'm a sucked for mystery stuff, so I will give this 7/10. It was one of the shows that I was looking forward to each week.

Probably the worst episode of all 12.. I was hoping for at least a confession but there was nothing after all the teasing. Would've been a suitable time to confess when they cleared up the misunderstanding with the appraiser from NYC but it seems like they really want to drag the confession out as much as possible..

The beginning of the episode had the typical shoujo female protagonist stereotypical action that I hate, that is deciding things on their own before people even responded. After she's done appraising for the cups, without hearing whether she's right or wrong, she jumped onto the conclusion that she should leave the scene. She's already decided that she should leave the scene before she even got her answer.. -.-

Then there's this very rapey moment that's also typical in shoujo series, also reminded me of that anime porn between a monk and a working OL.. it's like everything that's wrong with shoujo is in this episode. It's not hot pressing against a girl like that if she doesn't like you, it's just creepy..

And I was actually optimistic that the story would lead up to a confession in the last episode, there's a lot of teasing and dropping hints through out the series, and that amounted to nothing. There's no manga to read either, unless you're subbed to CR, and CR is not even available to my country smh.

there's also this ntr vibe that many people have caught on.. at least Aoi didn't just sleep with her boyfriend when he pressed her back then, do it only when you feel is right, if he couldn't wait he's probably not worth you waiting for.

Overall it's pretty decent, was expecting it to be a murder mystery which is quite disappointing but the romance has kept me in the series until the end.

Quite the lovely ending, while nothing really was resolved or finished it still was a nicely open ending that gave the series room to expand if needed or close here and give everything else to the viewers imagination!

Quite liked it I must say as the characters and general atmosphere was pretty great!

And so Aoi finally realizes and accepts her feelings for Holmes. You know, I liked this series. But I liked it more as a romance series than a mystery one. Despite the Sherlock Holmes name nod the mystery aspect of this series always seemed lacking. For one thing, the vast majority of the time the audience isn't given enough time or clues to figure things out before Holmes just explains things, and even then the clues usually rely on Japanese artists or historical figures and sayings attributed to them, not something your average fan would know I'd bet. For another thing, the vast majority of the time the mysteries felt less like actual mysteries and more like Antiques Roadshow: the Anime. Which is fine, as Holmes himself says in the last scene of the last episode he's an appraiser, not a detective. But it does leave the mystery element of the series a bit lacking as I said earlier. Instead, I much moreso found myself enjoying the budding romantic relationship between Holmes and Aoi. With episode 4 where he defends/saves her from her douchey friends being a notable highlight. My only real complaint on that front is that we're almost certainly never going to get a 2nd season to actually see them become a couple. Still, it was an endearing enough relationship for me to give this a solid 7/10 score.

Wheeee! Finished watching Kyoto Holmes anime. It's very cute but a bit forgettable as a whole. I enjoyed the slight romance and the atmosphere of the series but I think it's a bit bland and lacks impact. I would still watch a sequel though.

I'm curious as to why you and some others I've noticed commented that this falls into the Shoujo demographic? I know it was based on a series of mystery novels, but don't said novels have no demographic identifier? I thought that was only for manga published in magazines.
