A very surprising episode. There are many things to say about this episode:
Tamayo and Yushiro. I did not think I could see other demons living peacefully with humans. That woman is incredibly amazing. He modified his body so as not to devour humans and it took 200 years to turn Yushiro into a demon. Yushiro is like a kind of hybrid, a new generation demon, so to speak. Practically both are like vampires. I was very happy to see that the answer that Tanjiro seeks to cure Nezuko is not as far as he thought. In this way, Tanjiro does not need to hold back against Muzan Kibutsuji, that damn bastard!
This story is full of surprises!

Oh! And I almost forgot it! ... I'm very curious to know if the guy who knew Muzan Kibutsuji in the past was Tanjiro's father, the one with the ear studs like he has.

PS: "Nezuko was one of the beauties of the town!" ... Hahaha, I laughed too much in that part. Nobody should mess with Tanjiro's little sister πŸ˜‚.
Well I wonder if the two good demons will survive the next ep. I bet at least one will die. Also I am guessing monk dyde dies and tamari girl flees. An ancestor of Tajiro almost ceraintly but not his father. Muzan has at least 500 years and I am pretty sure this happened when he has not been a demon for too long. So at least a great grand father.

Demon can't kill each other, The only way to kill a demon is to cut their neck with nichirin blade. So it is safe to assume that both tamayo and yushiro would not gonna die.

How do you know this? We know that at least Muzan can kill demons without.tye blade. Also I doubt the regenerative powers of the two are on par with those of man eating demons.

Muzan is such a good villain. I love him in the show. This is my favorite episode of the season so far. The demon doctor’s story was a great addition! Can’t wait for the next episode.

They should refrain from comedy as it isn't their strong suit! But great episode nonetheless.

This anime will have a lot of comedy, so do not watch it XD.

The wooden box is supposed to be extremely light but the demon guessed it was a "big box". Hate this type of inconsistent tryhard writing.

Muzan shows just how big of a threat he is.
There where quite a few characters introduced this episode, i am especially interested in the abilities of the two demons that attack Tanjirou and the others at the end.

Tamayo and Yushirou introduction was really wonderfull, with her hability's art, really beautiful!

I am glad to see there are other demons that aren't bad, we got get more hope for Nezuko return back to be a human!

We got a flashback from Muzan being defeated by other guy with the same earings as Tanjirou, i believe it was Tanjirou and Nazuko's father, and thats the reason for Muzan attack Tanjirou's family, to avenge from his father!

Muzan is really dangerous, poor girl!

Obious that demons sent by Muzan would find them and attack, curious to see next episode, expecting an awesome fight, as always!

Damn she is so cute, a godess!

From the police point of view, there a screaming boy with a sword pinch down a man, a woman is bleeding. For the common folk, demon is just legend, story to scare kid anyway.

as a police you need to assess the situation first. They didn't even bother to hear Danjirou out. They saw that he's holding down a psychotic man who's struggling and looking like he's ready to bite off everyone's heads, and yet they thought that it's a smart idea to pull the boy away from the man when they have no idea what they are dealing with?? No! You deal with the man first, not the boy! And don't even think about raising ur hands on the boy without understanding the situation first. That's not proper police procedures man. They're being rash and making faults left and right that could end their careers.

This is early 20th century Japan, and some middle of nowhere town at that. What would they know about proper police procedures?

It's been a long time I got caught like this by a shonen anime and I enjoy it a lot.
I even came up with an hypothesis about the meaning of his black sword ( ppl that have red the manga might know a little more about this tho)

The color black is ,among other things, associated with mourning. We've also seen Tanjiro mourned some of the oni he killed and this is due to his compassion. Black is also associated with misfortune and misplaced compassion in this line of work can easily get you killed which would explained that ppl with black sword are rare and short-lived.
So I think the black sword might be associated with ppl that wish for a peaceful cohabitation with oni, want to save them, don't see all of them as monsters or something along thoses line.
what do you think?

What a life those 2 demons have. 200 years old as demons and it looks like they haven't aged a day. Not only that, they get supernatural abilities and only need a little amount of blood to keep them going.

Also Tamayo must be blind

The humorous parts of this episode were trying waaaay too hard to counterbalance the dark stuff with the demon buy murdering the disposable fluff characters. It's like they're afraid adopt a darker tone for the story, so instead they're trying to offset it with the opposite extreme.

It doesn't work.

That aside, I want to like this show, but everything about the plot and characters feels generic and cliched. Nothing about the execution is new or exciting. By far the best aspect of the show is the animation, but even that isn't anything special by Ufotable standards.

I'm still waiting for the story to tell me why I'm supposed to care about this MC. It rushed through his introduction in the first episode, it rushed through his development during his training, and now he's just some guy that we happen to be following along with. There is little sense of teleology with this story; it could stop at any moment and it wouldn't feel unfinished.

I don't think it ruins anything, it's the same humor used in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood for example, and it creates a great balance between drama/serious stuff and some more light-hearted moments

You realize the fact, that Kimetsu no Yaiba isn't supposed to be a comedy, like FMA:B? I mean, there is no "Comedy" tag here.

Just because some tragedy happened to your life doesn't mean that you will lose fun and good moments in your life forever. This manga is much more than just your average shonen garbage.

I think you look at the MC from the wrong angle. The writing style of the story more suttle than it appeal. The story doesn't just bombard you with the main characters quirk and personality from the start, it let the action of the character speak for it more then. It doesn't just flat out telling you what this MC personality is, it let his action, his interaction with other speak for him. His development doesn't just come from the training arc but scatter throughout the story, which in my opinion make it feel more natural.

This may be something lost in translation. He called Nezuko a "shikome" which can mean both "a plain looking woman" or "a female demon". I get the feeling that this was supposed to be a play on that word, and Tanjirou got the wrong idea.

I don't watch the subtitled version so I can imagine whoever did the subs, didn't get the joke. For anyone learning Japanese the kanji is ι†œε₯³ and can be read either as しこめ (shikome) or γ—γ‚‡γ†γ˜γ‚‡ (shoujo) the meaning of demon is only in the applied for the しこめ (shikome) reading of the word.

This is one of those cases where it really gets lost in translation.

I didn't say I wanted to be bombarded with extremely colorful personalities, or that I wanted to be told what the personality of the MC is.
