THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Lol, Altair is having a big laugh from the arrival of her new ally.
I don't even think she takes Alice seriously at all by this point.

Charon's reunion with Selestia is how I expected would go. Unfortunately, it's not a happy one as they discuss the past. Rui is pretty badass in that fight though imo.

Altair is still so OP lol, taking on Blitz, Hoshikawa, and Yuya all at once. Please nerf

That ending though...SELESTIA. I doubt she'll be gone for good, or at least I hope.

Altair can't lose. Sota's idea is going to defeat her at the end.

Now they decided to hurry the pacing, with 3 more episodes we can predict how this could end.

That ending... Selesia.

Kanoya was impressive in this episode.

Holy shit. Altair is too OP. She is essentially immortal. They way she mocked Alicetaria was cruel, calling her a side character with that grin of hers.

Selesia's sacrifice was pretty sad. I actually thought that she would be one of the characters that would see things through all the way to the end, considering that she was the first Creation to appear in the series and had that main heroine vibe to her. I wonder if Megane will get directly involved in the battle now.

For some reason, that scene with Selesia and Charon really hits home, especially since this anime wasn't suppose to have any underlying romance in it. I just have this gut feeling that Selestia stays alive because Charon did something out of the blue that saves her.

Such a sad episode.

Aliceteria died, even though I didn't like her, I feel sad for her creator.

And probably, also Selesia is dead.

I really like the role of Kanoya and Hikayu in this episode. They really understand how their story work.

It is because of the people is what made Altair so strong. Dang it. But I cannot complain too much about it. Because they did not know. Or even understood that this was going to happen. To see Selesia go out and then.... T_T freaking... I cannot speak of it. I can't or just do not want too.

Holy shit, the feels this episode.

I knew Charon was automatically on the chopping block, and Aliceteria raised her own death flag the moment she spoke of revenge for Mamika. Selesia too, though?

Whoa.
Save for Meteora, all of the "main" characters that we've been spending time with are dead or unable to continue the fight; Kanoya's mech is crippled. This just leaves Yuuya, Sho, Blitz and Hikayu, and their death flags have been raised as well:
Yuuya and Sho have met and reconciled, meaning that by story convention one of them must die; Blitz has found his daughter, and must by story convention sacrifice himself to ensure that she lives.

This leaves Meteora and Hikayu by default. Hikayu will likely off herself trying to protect Meteora, which then leaves Meteora to summon Sota's character as a last gambit.

Magane will probably jump in to help Meteora when the time comes.

I'm damn near speechless.......

This was such a great character driven episode with tons of respectable moments from Yuya, Alicetaria, Kanoya and even Selesia but I didn't expect any of this to happen

I figured that Alice would eventually die, but not like this....Not without being able to see Mamika's death get avenged....Heck, I feel like if anyone deserved their world to be saved after all that they've been through both there and in the real world, it would be her TwT

RIP Brave and Honourable Valkyrie....Sucks that you had to be killed like that

But most of all.....The poster girl of the series.....If there was anyone that I felt would have made it all the way to the end alive it would have been Selesia, and so for her freaking die and die now of all times came as a complete shock to me

I was expecting her to get a powerup in order to defeat Charon but this was just something else entirely.....I can't get mad because this was the most realistic way for her to beat him and because this gave her character good growth (And like she said herself, it makes up for her fuck ups in this episode) but I'm legit salty since apart from Best Girl Meteora, she was my favorite :(

RIP my beautiful red head hero......You will be dearly missed....I'm scared shitless for best boys Kanoya and Yuya now (Especially Kanoya because I had no idea that whatever happened to his mech happens to him too)

Finally! An episode like this was something Selesia has needed for a LONG time. I barely cared about her dying but it was better than nothing.

At this point an Altair win ending would be a lot better if only because it would be less predictable than the good guys winning after Sota's creation comes (which is my guess how this will end). Altair is also a lot more fun than the good guys so far.

This was... for a lack of a better word.. surprising.
Caught me off guard with 2 of them dying, more so that one of them turned out to be Selestia, I couldnt care less about Aliceteria but the way she died sucked hard... she was mocked.. her creator's reaction added more impact to her death.. that must have stung him hard.. at least she went down like a champ.

Kanoya was amazing tho, and Selestia's talk with Charo and how she departed left hard, the girl confessed, got stabbed by the one she confessed to.. and probably died in the process by the hands of her friend to finish of her and the love of her life... my God... and her parting words... when all of this is over you better make those damn coffee's Matsubara!

Wow, this was an intense episode, they're really building to the final climax. It's almost hard to believe there are still three more episodes with how much they've already ramped things up.

I have to agree with Pipe, Sota's idea has yet to come into play, and it's definitely going to be the key to victory against the seemingly all-powerful Altair. About time he does something main character-ish...

This is why bring a woman to pilot a robot is always a bad idea, especially when they have to fight against their own comrade. Won't take long until Selesia full with doubt, while another character already place at the edge of death.

Aliceteria was one of the most powerful characters. Out. And omg the feels I got when Altair mocked everything about her.
Kanoya who has the mecha, most likely it'll be a big chunk of metal now.
Selesia was the most main of all those characters. Out. And I really hope there's no "saved at the last second" shenanigans since it'd be kinda disappointing, she had a meaningful death and it should stay that way.

Only Meteora is a threat to Altair now, I don't think the rest has any chances sans Megane if she manages to outwit her, which seems unlikely at best. I mean, we can already see that Hoshikawa will not even be a nuisance after that little bit we got to see, and the rest seems to be a level behind the characters that lost. I have my doubts about what Hangaku and Sho's spirit might be able to achieve, but that's it. It doesn't feel enough.

Like a lot of you people are saying, it'll be Sota's idea or something on those lines. I'd be surprised if she gets defeated by any other means, if she gets defeated at all. Would be nice to have a Bad/Dead End too, although I don't think it'll happen.

Pretty sure this is an anime that'll get more love after it ends and people watch it in one go or whatever, the airing pace was nonsense, but gosh I'm glad I endure the postposals, I can't wait to see how it ends.

Magane did something I had never expected, but already experience once. If this is all that is to her, she did the "Svidrigailov" exit from the story (check the "Crime and Punishment"), while I have always seen her as someone turning tables on everyone and making herself a main boss. But this is exactly what madness is. You can't predict it, you can't predict her. She was mad until the very end.
Souta is surely bringing in the big guns, as in something that will affect Altair deeply. Most likely, he is going to evoke pre-traumatized Shimazaki, that will test her conviction, or an Altair herself, which acknowledges that she is a part of Shimazaki. There is no ending this struggle other way... though,
It seems that Sho can make his "Partner" appear out of glass, but since we were never told actual concept, he might be able to force him into the reality through reflecting surface. Which would explain why Blitz called out to Sho before attacking. His bullet is still there, lying underneath Altair. And when she lets her guard down (if that is possible at this point), Sho might strike.

"It was always there" doesn't mean it was done well imo. We never saw that side of her up until that literal moment. It felt out of no where for the sake of "developing" her character.

Well this episode certainly caught me off guard. The body count seems to be growing, with 3 deaths in this episode alone (assuming Selesia wasn't saved at the last second like some people think).

Alice's death was cruel, Altair mocked her, ridiculed her, and called her nothing but a side character. Not to mention, assuming I correctly understood Altair's explanation, it seems that Alice basically killed herself. I remember hating her in the beginning because of how stupid she was, but as the show progressed she became a bit more likable, so her death really sucks. Her creator breaking down in tears definitely added more impact to her death, and I felt really bad for him. Now I wonder if real-life creators actually become that emotional when killing off their own characters.

It looks like, for now at least, that Selesia is dead. I think I've seen some people theorize that Charon may have saved her, but I'm really hoping that's not the case. After everything she said and did in this episode, it would be a waste to counteract all of that by keeping her alive. Let's see how many more deaths we end up getting in these last 3 episodes.....

Also, shout out to Kanoya for being a badass in this episode, even after losing an arm. I didn't know he also felt the effects of whatever happens to his mecha, so it was awesome to see him tough it out and fight through that.

It is hard to feel anything when the main antagonist disappear for several episodes hidding herself up instead of taking action to at least try to slow down the whole plan.

Well, the recap episode gave a clue of how difficult is to animate Altair, so they probably avoided wasting money as much as possible and do the action scenes at the very end. It would be better be 12 eps if the budget was small.

This episode wasn't bad anyway.

Zelev – I think they presented the chemistry back in episode 2 or 3. Light novel hero and heroine are by definition romantically entwined.

Poor Matsubara. The entire otaku-verse just saw his main characters obliterated.
This is going to make writing his next LN just a bit awkward.

And Takarada… I hope he doesn’t get so depressed he turns to booze and hangs himself, like Magane’s Creator did. Since Takarada’s style is to let his character react, he really believes Alicetaria is dead.

Just gonna second all of this, this episode completely surprised me with how it played out and I've gotta say, both of the deaths made me pretty emotional.
It was really sad to see Aliceteria go out the way she did, mocked and destroyed by her own power. Her creator's reaction was the one that me really sad. She totally didn't deserve to go out like that.

Yuya was the man this episode, I loved how he talked the other guy out of his rage against the creators. It's like Blitz says, he's a young but wise guy. Huge props to Kanoya as well.

Altair is way too OP to the extent I don't see how they can beat her.

I did not in the least expect Selesia's story to turn out this way and my thoughts were the exact same as what you said but once again like you say, this seems a more grounded plausible direction and makes up for her past mistakes. Her goodbye along with Matsubara's reaction was just... :(
