hm maybe it's because i havent slept in the past 24hrs but... the feels werent really there. weird.
to me, she's still alive, and sure she has it tough and it's a very unfortunate circumstance, it's not like she's deciding to pull the plug. all yuuki has to do is live her everyday in the virtual world with her idol asuna. lol

That was an emotional episode. I don't get how they just gave her contaminated blood, but whatever. Alot of death foreshadowing, seems like all Sleeping Knights are ill, and when she said that three of them already got news they're going to live a few months at best... that was kinda hard to swallow.

I've really come to like Asuna. From just another annoying tsundere in SAO I, to a kind, compassionate and overall really normal girl. Animes should have more of her type, I don't understand how Sinon has anything on her.

Twi episodes left.

THe contaminated blood thing was because of a medical mistake on top of that, there is a certain window period where AIDS can be detected however symptoms don't start appearing till much later. As a result by the time they did figure out there was a mistake it was too late. (I have probably butchered the explanation, you can read the LN's for a better explanation, or reference a medical book.)

Yawwwwn, I can't believe I'm still wasting my time by watching this anime.
And they seriously need to give their characters AIDS in order to make the viewers sympathize with the characters? This whole show is AIDS.
Well at least I got a chuckle out of this nonsensical melodrama.
I also thought that girl would die at the end of the episode, but of course not.

If this hasn't been said already, I'm going to guess what's going to happen; I haven't read the light novel so this is a guess like said.

At the very end of that episode, when Asuna said to Yuuki "You might be able to go to school!!!" I instantly thought of Kirito with his mecha thing which he's using on Yui, perhaps he could somehow get Yuuki hooked up onto that?

It's a absurd guess, but I hope it happens. Anyways, I enjoyed today's episode although I am sad that there's only 2 episodes left.. hopefully Kirito gets some more screentime :^)

I might have guessed, I might have expected and I might have been spoiled but I was still taken aback by the FEELS in this well executed episode. The story mechanics might be cliche, might be nonsensical but a well executed episode is ... well executed.

With all the people saying this will have feels, I was getting pretty hyped to see what all the feels were about.
After finishing the episode I'm a bit disappointed. Yeah, it was sad but not really that much or maybe I was just expecting something like Clannad (which is impossible).

^^Exactly my thoughts on this. The three main reasons I didn't enjoy it as much that I can think of are

1. The terminal illness twist was very predictable. With Clannad

2. The prior exposure of Yuuki was very short, just a few episodes, very little build-up, while in Clannad

3. Personal reason. I'm not really a fan of "boku" girls to begin with, not my type.

I knew something sad and tragic was coming, but WOW, I was not ready for that!

We have 2 more episodes left and I have a bad feeling that Yuuki is one of the two people that doesn't have long to live.

I'm really hoping that Asuna and friends can make Yuuki's last days something memorable, even though I know I'm going to have to keep a box of tissues handy.
So glad that I'm not a huge manga reader, because the manga readers WHINE WAY TOO MUCH and have to RUIN every adapted anime for the ANIME ONLY WATCHERS!

I can't really think of any disease that's worse than AIDS. Something that attacks your immune system. It honestly can't get worse (I say that in the sense that everyday your fighting you would be torturing yourself because the bacteria and viruses are taking over your body while AIDS attacks the immune system. Plus since AIDS constantly changes itself, therefore making it hard for immune system to adapt. Now there are medications to slow it down (in the LN it was something called NIDC, something like that, can't remember full name) but as a child taking medications at perfect intervals is pretty hard. Plus it was probably the most reasonable one the author could think of without going out of this world crazy.

Plus with all the children making fun of her, and some making threats (kind of like whats going on with ebola all over the interenet) I think he did a fine job.

Anyway I want to know why you think its bad. I think I will understand. I am for LN anyway (not so much anime) so elaborate on why AIDS ruined the arc. Not trying to insult, I am just asking.

I read this arc's manga weeks ago, I was ready for this, or so I thought.

I cried on this episode, knowing well how losing someone to terminal illness feels like. There will be tough moments when you wish they would come back. But they just don't.

If only they could merge Ghost in the Shell and nervegear technologies, then Yuuki could be virtually immortalized. But that would go against a lot of people. I certainly wouldn't want them peeking through my webcam and surfing through all the nastiness online, (yes I'm talking to you Angela, god I miss you, may you rest well in peace). . .

Anyway, 5/5. The last 2 episodes will be heavy but a good end to the season. I'm told Season 3 will kick major ass. I'm holding back on reading any further manga chapters and light novels for SAO.

Oh NO! I'm so sad, or at least I would be if I even gave a shit about Yuuki. Apparently this was adapted perfectly so I'm guessing that this is the manga's fault. I really can't care for Yuuki's condition, mainly because her character really doesn't develop at all.

Well I wouldn't say perfectly. But yeah I can see how you wouldn't be sad.
I would say it gets better, but I doubt you'd believe me. I think what made the arc sad was the wording in the LN and how the doctor actually talked more about the life story of Yuuki, and many specifics in medicine. But I respect your opinion.

They thought if Asuna found out, Asuna would become very depressed about it and they don't want one of their friends to be sad for their sake. Little did they know that keeping Asuna out of the loop hurt Asuna's feelings, and underestimated Asuna's caring attitude that would still treat them as friends even after finding out.

Lol, everyone's logging out on Asuna.

So Yuuki has AIDS. (T_T) I think she's one of the two people who have less than a few months left.
For all her life, she was in a Medicuboid. I feel sorry for her.

Lol, Asuna tripped.

Despite being a sad episode, it seems it will lighten up a bit during the next one.
Yuuki's going to school. (^_^) But I feel it might end sadly.
I’m always searching for something, for someone. This feeling has possessed me I think, from that day… That day when the stars came falling.

Compare this exerpt to what you just watched:

“Yes. From the moment Yuuki was born, she was forced to fight
the virus to survive. Once she broke through the most critical moment,
the petite her was able to grow up safely and even enter primary
school. For a kid—it’s tough to take in a large amount of drugs
regularly. Besides, Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors are
drugs with powerful side effects. However, Yuuki-kun still believed
that she would one day be healed and continued to work hard. She was
hardworking, and it looked like she had top grades throughout her
years in school. She had lots of friends, and I once saw many images of
her at that time. She continued to have such a dazzling smile…”
Asuna heard the doctor pause and sigh for a short while,
“—The school didn’t know that Yuuki-kun was a HIV carrier.
Actually, this is to be expected. Health check-ups carried out by the
school or an enterprise are not supposed to include HIV checks in
blood. However…just as she went into 4th grade, for some reason, a
group of parents of students that were of the same age found out that
Yuuki-kun was a carrier. The rumors immediately started to
spread…The law stipulated that they shouldn’t discriminate against
carriers just because they were infected with HIV. However, the sad
thing is that not all the people in society are kind…in the beginning,
there were people who protested against her coming to school to study, or pranks like calls and letters and so on. Her parents tried their best,
but in the end, they had to move, and Yuuki-kun was forced to transfer
to another school.”
“…”
Asuna could no longer react. She could only straighten her back
and listen to the doctor’s words.
“And though Yuuki-kun worked hard to go to the new school
every day…the cruel thing was that…at this moment, it started. The
indicator to show the weakening of the immunization system, the
lymph cells CD$ started to decrease drastically. In other words…the
AIDS virus had started to take effect. I’ve always felt that the harmful
words of the parents and teachers in her previous school was the
reason why she became ill.”

ALot more impactful.
