Girl with revolver was badass! Imagine if she had two hands. Wooh!

Now, is she the same little girl with the twin-tail who seemingly died? If so, than the grown up version is probably her reincarnation.

that art-shift though, from the well-animated 3 eps and then to this one, which became a bit classic.

a revenge story. hmm.
the story is as short as the other limb.
if this were to be a series, it should have a lot of story to tell.

this ep still good for me, anyway. nice pv.

It's not about some dumb hype competition, this is about showcasing individual creators and animators ideas and skills along with giving them room to practice and train. No two works have been the same and that's exactly the point. Again this isn't about MAL's typical hype nonsense, if you can't accept and understand that much this project is not something you should be following and you should just stick to Me!Me!Me!

Rather style-over-substance, but that style was quite good. Unlike the others so far, this feels like a teaser for a larger work. Maybe in a few years if director Akira Homma is lucky.

The one-armed girl uses a semi-automatic pistol which, if this is attempting any level of realism, places it rather late in a plausible "Old West" setting. The page for this film at the Japan Animator Exhibition site has a design sheet for it which calls it a Colt Government. I don't know much about guns but some hasty research on Wikipedia leads me to believe that it's actually a 1991 variant of the 1911 Colt Government, making it an anachronism. A mistake or possibly a deliberate design choice; the 1991 variant is more compact, lending it different visual qualities. The actual Colt Government seems to be used by the killers in the hanging scene.

That scene may be based on a similar scene from Once Upon a Time in the West also featuring a sadistically carried-out hanging by bandits of a man in the presence of a young relative. The hanged man even resembles the one from that film.

This may also be why the man with small dark glasses is subtitled with many Italian words in the flashback; that film, as well as a number of others, were directed by the Italian Sergio Leone as the finest of the "spaghetti Westerns".

The scene has a katana in it because anime, I suppose.

Interesting art style, but that was unnecessarily huge amount of work. It's gonna be hard to keep consistency with that kind of art style for a full series or movie. It was good nonetheless.

It's a pretty simple revenge story. Sorry one-eyed gramps, you shouldn't have gotten yourself into a gang.

Story: Girl takes revenge on a bunch of people who killed her father and tried to kill her. Rather simply.
Characters: Doesn't really develop the characters, bad guys having normal jobs and a family. The MC seems emotionless.
Art & Animation: Art was not my cup of tea, I don't like it when you can say just by looking at a picture which elements are supposed to move and which are not. Animation was alright.
Sound: I liked the background music, yeah not much else to say.
Enjoyment: I love revenge plots so I was definitely interested, but I hoped for a better ending. Can see this being made into a movie, not enough plot for a TV series imo.

"Urushibara Ruka. The mannerisms and voice of a woman... No... More feminine than any woman. But he's a guy. Taller than Mayuri, but so very thin... But he's a guy. Looks great in a miko outfit... But he's a guy. It's already twilight And yet, it's so hot. The cicadas are crying. But... He's a guy."

Not very impressed with this one. I'd rather rewatch some Noir, Michiko to Hatchin, or El Cazador de la Bruja. Obviously I wouldn't be able to animate something like this myself, just saying.

Haha, and nobody would buy it sadly :c

Favourite of the bunch so far, that art style was something else. Leaving it on that note was quite perfect too, we have seen how the other hits have gone down so far and she still remains unchanged. We've seen all there is to her motives and she's gonna carry on. Nothing more to it.

I don't agree; we're shown the boss of the gang has a young daughter. To complete her revenge the one-armed girl will need to do that girl what the bandits did to her; make her an orphan. Is she prepared to go all the way? Should this brutal man be spared retribution for the sake of someone else?

Simple but great. I think we are to believe that vengeance creates more vengeance and in the future there will be a blonde girl looking for the other girl. Unless she kills the little girl.

Is there going to be another episode? I want to see the girl take revenge on more people. There should be another episode because those guys she killed seem so normal. What, was her father a debtor or thief? "Ragazza," young woman... I liked the dialogue.

Very good one.

First I thought "what an asshole, who just kills an old person apparently indiscriminately".
Then comes the flashback and everything makes sense.
Then, in the end, we see how her (imho justified) revenge would actually destroy the life of another girl... so what will she do?
What would YOU do?

Imho, that's a perfect open ending^^

Well that was Tarentino-esque. I probably only made that connection since I recently finished Kill Bill Vol. 1 and the El Mariachi series. The art style itself reminds me of the Cannon Fodder portion of memories and La Maison en Petits Cubes, just with a lot more film grain filters.

Akira Honma on MAL is a mangaka who has a number of Yaoi romcoms, police and government dramas, and other similar manga titles under of her belt, so that was misleading. The actual Akira Homma here who designed and directed this short is a man who has done animation for titles such as Kemonozume, Kaiba, HAL, Dennou Coil, and Usagi Drop, showing a wide breadth of titles that don't necessarily lend to this tale of blood and revenge. Before thinking about the story and characters, I'm interested in how this Western-style revenge bit came about.

I loved the execution of that seemingly simple revenge plot~! The artstyle is something new, the music was gorgeous and I want to see it become a series.

They killed her father, sliced her arm off and shot her vocal cords. The offenders now live peaceful lives trying to make up for what they've done, but it'll never come to that. That one-armed lady is ready to overkill these bitches with a hail of bullets.

This shows that the past will always bite you back in the ass when ya least expect it.
