| Pretty solid start for this series. I was expecting something like that ending to happen. Nonetheless, this sets up for what looks like a dynamic start to the next episode. The Princess was a tad annoying, but I figure after this incident, she's gonna become a lot better in the future. I thought the opening theme was nice and refreshing; you don't hear openings too much like that anymore. |

| That was a freaking amazingly good first episode. Action, plot, characters all great. Love the character designs they are all gorgeous. Yona is making her way to favorites yo OP song was kinda weird? Totally looking forward to next episode. |

| Meh...very generic. The comedy inserts were annoying for the most part. Pretty juvenile tone but I should have expected that. Hak is showing potential though and I dig the couple-on-the-run storyline, so I'll stick with it. OP and ED were unimpressive. |

| Well I was going to watch this with absolutely no knowledge about it but the opening kinda gave it away xP I underestimated this anime at first, but it was a tad better than I expected even though the first half was meh. I like Soo Won coz he was the most intriguing element to this episode. Not sure if this is going to be interesting enough for me to follow it entirely though, and this is coming from a person who hasn't read the manga. |

| Well I was expecting some J-pop Opening and I was pleasantly surprised! Also I used to read the manga long time ago...Im not updated but I dont remember this being a reverse harem: surely the girl was always surrounded by her male gang but since the very first beggining its just clear that Hak is "the one". What I really love about the mangaka is that she always finds a way to make her heroines stronger:) Dont underestimate Yona-hime!:) Also Hak is hot and I just love the cliché best friends turning into enemies, specially in trio:p |

| God, Yona's annoying as fuck. She's stupid, superficial, and has an irritating voice. I like Hak though, he can stay. If anything though, I'm glad Soo-Won's the villain. Weird pretty boy bishies like that creep me out, and knowing the show's not going to try to force me to like him is a relief. |
| Good first episode. The OSTs aren't bad at all but the one at the end, where the fight scene started, didn't fit there, it was... how can I say this... it was too "light" for a fight scene. |
| The music was B E A U TI FUL! It matched 'nearly' every scene. I liked the look of it a lot (kinda reminds me of magi) I love the OP ( it feels like the main screen of an RPG) The characters are looking good Amazing start :-D |

| The opening really caught my interest, despite knowing how generic the show would actually be. However, I'm pleased with this first episode, and now I'm looking forward to the next one! I haven't watched an anime like this in a long time, so it's a breath of fresh ar. |
| This one looked a bit inconsistent. I do not like the setting, kinda boring romance with childish main character and not funny jokes. Well I'll still watch few more episodes, I hope I'll get used to it. |
| Oh my, a plot-driven romantic comedy shoujo show. I. like. it. A princess and her loyal aid...the concept made my heart went doki doki. First episode is well executed. This will be something to look forward to each week. This reminded me a bit of Hanasakeru Seishounen, coming from the same Studio Pierrot. I hope no weird art deviation. *crossing my fingers* |

| Thread Cleaned A few off topic posts and simple posts removed, please be more detailed in your post. Consider adding why you enjoyed or disliked certain characters or the episode in general. The anime I was so hype'd for since I saw the cover and PV and it delivered. A bit more shoujo than what I was expecting, but no complaint. I really hope this anime does a good job with the concept of kingdoms.. love me this setting. The Soo-Won thing was... very obvious? I don't know if it's because I have seen other Kingdom shows (not anime though, old chinese dramas) or things similar but I'm not sure how others could have missed it. OP is great and the ED isn't bad, I have high expectations for this show and it's doing great so far. |

| Haven't read the manga. So far everything was really predictable and the characters were somewhat bland. Episode started off good but just went a bit downhill after the halfway mark. |

| Mmh, I'm rather disappointed after having looked forward to this for a while now. The characters didn't click with me nor did the any of the developments or comedy. Soundtrack felt mostly forgettable for me and the art style was fine. Sooo, not sure if I'll pick this one up yet. Will think about it and maybe give it another episode before making up my mind. |

| XD First thought it was set in China even though the clothes were a bit different, though I didn't even catch on that they're Korean with the names till halfway. I'm interested in seeing how this develops, haven't read the manga but I'm guessing Yona will have strong character development later on. Reminds me of Twelve Kingdoms MC, Yoko, except that one is way more serious and dark, but it just shows her as weak and incapable but later on grows to be such a strong and interesting character. I'm guessing Yona will be like that, like you can tell from the opening that she'll become stronger XD, not cry as much. Oh, another similarity, their red hair, both of them seem to dislike their hair in the beginning anyways. Anyways I'm looking forward to watching more! |

Names are Korean, but everything else is more Chinese. Pretty sure it's not set in either, but takes influence from both. Just like how Twelve Kingdoms' world is a fusion of Chinese and Japanese. |

| Hello, Nobunaga Concerto of the fall season! I'm so glad I didn't read the synopsis because it spoils the whole surprise murder thing lol I'm very impressed. This beats Donten ni Warau for my favourite of the season. Pacing, characters and plot were done excellently and I'm looking forward to the next episode. The comedy's done well too. | Pierrot anime quality has really improved lately. Even tho they couldn't do justice to Tokyo Ghoul, I hope they manage to animate it right. So far, it looks beautiful and the art quality is similar to that of Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun tho I don't get why there was no music in the OP. Maybe in the next episode, there will be? I already ship Hak x Yona. I just knew Soo-Won is a bad guy. Never trust the gentle ones. Great episode. The ED sounds good, too. |

| That was a nice first ep. I've only read a bit of the manga and I don't think they cut much out. I wouldn't have guessed Saito Chiwa voiced Yona ouo art reminds me of gekkan shoujo nozaki kun. studio pierrot please don't mess this up -_- |

| 4/5 I was expecting something more "epic", but in the end the story was not so bad. The 1st part of the story was slow, but nice, the 2nd a little more convincing, perhaps because it goes to the hands! XD Seriously, the story seemed to be a mixture of humor, sadness and drama, in short, was not monotonous. The plot seemed to be the classic reverse harem (?), For now I shall give it for granted, I look forward to see the next episodes to really believe it. The drawings and animations were average, the study Pierrot has not disappointed but not surprised. The opening and the ending, the more I will look forward. For now my vote is 6/10! |

| Perfect life became a perfect hell. Such a shame to be betrayed by the one you love. So unfortunate of Yona in this episode. The first part was I thought to be awful and weak. But because of that ending, it increased my excitement a little. |
| I had a feeling something like this going to happen after watching the opening song and looking at soo won personality that something going to happen with him, either he will die, betray them or get different personality. Im off to play destiny warrior :) |

| I've read the manga for a long time so I was sooo excited that Akatsuki no Yona was being animated! Now if only 7seeds or Akagami no shirayuki hime would get animes. hak is too cool for school lol. In my mind, Yona's voice is a bit lower which fits with the more mature image she has in the op, I wonder if the va will reflect the change... Speaking of the op, I loved it but it showed just about the whole dang story XD |
| i'm gonna guess that main girl is gonna cut off her hair cuz soo won said it was beautiful and he only said those nice things to her cuz he wants to be the king which is probably also why he killed main girl's dad. interesting start but i'm not fond of the main girl yet. i heard this show was a 2 cour by studio pierrot. let's see how that works out |
| I'm really suprised with the opening. I was amused each second of it. I think it's great that it's instrumental. It really sets the mood. I like this anime so far. The main character, Yona, is a bit annoying. Hak is actually the character I'm most interested in. I wonder why Soo-Woo (gosh what a name) did what he did. I notice that people saw the betraying part coming, but I was actually really suprised. XD God I hope they work this out fine. I love traditional fantasy stories a lot. |
