Then I have you in my sights, will bookmark this, and when I end the series for good (started in 2015!!), I will talk to you about it a bit, you just cant finish that kind of VN and stay still with your thoughts. You are whereby marked and Umineko PEEPS. xD
Umineko 8... finishing that episode has been in the makings since 2019, when I finished episode 7, been too long, I want to finish reading the manga up to episode 7, to have everything more fresh, before I really dig into Episode 8 ( was only at the start of the episode).
Yeah life has been crazy since then. Things have settled on my end, now the world is turning to shit ? Wait, always has been.
Sure man, would gladly join your discord. Was talking to Joek a few days ago as well.
I see you started to read Sono Bisque manga recently, you made an wonderfully choice, it just a cute manga and the anime is just as awesome if not even better at parts, of course comparing to what it has adapted.
You need to read chapter 35 ASAP, that was my most favorite on the manga, the anime should end around there, which will make for a really CUTE finale!
Your avatar is so cute, best girl looking really good there~~
Yeah both series are completely different but are equally phenomenal. It's a tough call there but I'll make one eventually as time passes. I'm just grateful that I can enjoy a series again to the same degree as HakoMari in 2021. It's a real blessing in disguise. Makes it even more special that I initially dropped MT and was the generic guy who disliked it for Rudeus and the perversions and never gave it a chance. Kind of reminds me of life in a way with Rudeus' journey. You can't exactly blame people who aren't willing to give Rudeus a chance at the start but if you do give one, you get to witness a flawed but phenomenal journey of his growth overall while maintaining some flaws too for realism sake and not just completely whitewashing who he was in the past since that'd be really bad. That second chance really made me appreciate the series on many levels and the recent re-read hit really well too and made me appreciate the storytelling and foreshadowing on whole different levels too.
But Mushoku Tensei's journey and seeing how characters progress, how the lore/world building connects really well, how Rudeus' journey has had many issues and he himself has had many issues but still is a phenomenal character by the end makes it feel more personal and memorable to me. The finale too and Redundancy were just chef's kiss touches to an incredible story to Rudeus Greyrat's imperfect but satisfying life. In that sense, Mushoku Tensei's overall growth makes me cherish the series in a way more than I did with HakoMari and I've spent much longer with appreciating the flaws and overall journey more than HakoMari where I found it to be incredible but fairly easy to move on from it after a couple weeks.
So yeah, they're basically tied for me but I'm still thinking deeply regarding giving MT's light novels the top spot since HakoMari has been my favorite series from Japan since I first read it in 2017 at school, so 4 and a half years to decide on a change is really, really difficult. The fact that I'm thinking this hard though makes MT feel really special already.
A) That was not my main point, I was being hyperbolic
B) Your experiences are not universal. I watched a ton of horror with my brother. I grew up to enjoy it while he developed an intense phobia of blood, needles, and people touching his neck.
People aren't the same and I'd rather err on the side of caution especially on a topic like this. Murder is considered a hard line and an obvious bad thing, but there are a concerning number of people who think that sexual harassment isn't a big deal because "she's just playing hard to get", "she should be grateful for the attention", "he hasn't groped her so it's not a real problem", "it was a compliment! you're being sensitive" etc
TLDR: This anime sucks both on a plot and technical level
