YEah, yeah. Youpi/knuckle/killua part was awesome but actually octobro part was quit well done. In the manga, that was one of the less impressive part of the arc but madhouse did a really great work.

Killua <3 I thought he attacked just to save Knuckle and then hide with Meleoron again, but no, he's ready to kick some ass. :D I seriously thought that Knuckle was going to die there. I'm glad he didn't. I want to see Killuas new attack so badly, it's not the Thunderbolt because he used that once against Rammot.

I just watched the preview. :O Killua is going in some electricity mode *__*

That was close. Really thought Knuckle was done for there, but Killuia made it just in time with his Thunderbolt. Knuckle managed to get eight punches on Youpi. Killuia joins the battle and is ready for a fight.

The best EPISODE IN arc chimena yet. and the only 5/5 of arc chimena atm..

this is what you call an episode! killua and knuckle's since gave me chills even if so i'd read the manga. this is what you call epic.
My biggest regret is using my real name as my user name.

pacing of an episode is not determined by solely that episodes content . it depends on the overall plan of showcasing the story for coming episodes also . to adapt from a manga, certain modification has to be done for future episode and better structure per episode...

in order to get today's episodes last minute awesomeness previous episodes had to be compromised . so please think before complaining about a good episode . its better if you keep this pacing issue to butcher after the arc ends .there might be some small faults but madhouse is doing the best possible adaptation .try to see some goodness in it.

I mostly blame the 20 minutes format for those compromises.

This episode was great. I enjoyed the first half with Ikalgo, although it probably could have been shortened. But what really made this episode was Knuckle vs Youpi. That was brilliant on so many levels, and the best part was that the scene didn't take itself too seriously. First time we've had comedic undertones in the series in a very long time, and although it could have been out of place deep into the invasion, for some reason here it wasn't, probably because Knuckle, a naturally funny guy, was involved.

In the beginning it was tense with both Knuckle and Youpi plotting the best method to take the other down. The main source of tension came from knowing that Youpi was one step ahead of Knuckle. When he begins his attack and time slows, there is a feeling of heavy dread to the scene. That quickly vanishes, though, as Knuckle reflects on his actions. Togashi is really a troll, he takes every opportunity he gets to lampshade the situation. Knuckle's lines about still not finishing his punch and how time was slow was hilarious, before the show does a 180 and reveals that Knuckle is about to die, something that the audience had already known but had been directed away from. The reality abruptly returns, juxtaposed with the previous comedy to be highly distressing. I was almost fooled for a second, before Killua came to the rescue and Kunckle got his punches. The way he ran away afterwards only added to the hilarity of the situation.

Killua's ominous line at the end of the episode hints at what he's feeling right now. "Letting off some steam" seems to be him releasing the hurt and betrayed emotions he feels following Gon's harsh treatment of him and his worry over what Gon is going through.

Yeah, that bothered me too.

But, I guess it was said to let us know that Nen writing can only be read through use of Gyo. It wasn't there just to say, "Oh, this is what you can use Gyo for."

LOL I love how Knuckle booked it after getting his punches and how he was so happy about getting 8 punches in instead of 3. The episode really shined at the very end and I think we all know why. All I have to say is that Killua is simply a badass. I really want to see Gon vs. Pitou because his aura looks crazy right now.

Great episode, but I wish they would have cut down on Yupi's explaining things a bit, damn thing felt like Naruto.

Ikalgo and Brovada were great as well.

Knuckle didn't really feel like he was dying though, I mean slow-motion deaths almost always turn out to be fake and they survive

I disagree, the only reason why I had any sort of feeling he would live is because of the short scene with Killua and Meleoron last episode. More specifically, like Tsudecimo, I actually thought he would get cut down as he was celebrating. But, even before then, I went from being amused at his thoughts before he, and I, realized this was one of those
"flashing before your eyes" moments. Also, since the series has killed the hell out of supporting characters throughout it's run, I was probably more inclined to believe he was screwed.

Any episode that doesn't involve Gon is a win. I think it says a lot that Ikalgo's adventure is by far the most interesting things that has happened in the last few episodes (they sucked that much). Still, I can't believe they spent a good chunk of the 2nd half for some unnecessarily long Knuckle's internal monologue.. they could shorten it a lot and immediately show the slow motion before death thing. I wish Killua would've been the one who fight Youpi for the rest of the battle but it's not meant to be. Sucks we got to deal with gay boy Knuckle.

Awesome episode, wish op used its slow pace for something like this.
That ending scene, with Knuckle's monologue - hilarious.

I'm usually agains the villain plan exposition cliche where they explain their evil plans.
But here, it adds a lot of intensity, given the expectations, much better than if they surprised us. Yupi, like uvogin, proves he's not jus a giant idiot who screams a lot.

HxH is quite unlike the other shonen, and that's why it's growing on me most.

JamalKing said:
My first post here! I've been lurking a while.

I really enjoyed this episode although I'm still pissed off by the pacing*, I thought all of the parts with Knuckle were perfectly paced though, they set it up to lead us into thinking he was a goner and then boom in comes Killua. I may or may not have screamed out in excitement when that happened.

The narrator has really been bugging me during the invasion I mean did we really need gyo explained to us?

Overall I think it was a pretty good episode.

*The argument that the pacing is slow because of "strategy" and "psychological battles/warfare" is ridiculous. I've watch tons of anime that have more strategy and psychological warfare in one episode that HxH does in the entire series and they don't drag out arcs DBZ style.

How is it ridiculous?

This comparison makes no sense. The only similarity is that they both conveyed 5 minuted in 5-8 episodes, other than that, dbz spends it charging aura and hxh makes it about a ton of characters and their point of view

Which other shows are more strategic? Pls don't say code geass.
