Da Vinci down in first episode COME ON! He is one my favourite historical figures ;___;
Really good first episode although I don´t know how to feel about the mecha part if whether it ruined the setup or it was good (conflicted feelings)

None of these people even lived in the same eras anyway. The character list also includes Julius Caesar and Alexander the Great. I mean, Jesus Christ (don't tell me he's making an appearance too), at least all the Japanese characters are from the Sengoku era (as far as I can tell).

Himiko was a queen of ancient Japan. (about 1800 years ago)

FUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.. so this is war.. err, mecha with fictional two worlds and characters of historical reference names but only vaguely resembling them.. the first episode showed how the setting mocks you in every way but why should we care? heck, they should even add more HAM.. oh, Kawamori.. you always entertain me with all your crazy ideas of putting mecha on anything..

I found this first ep entertaining. The show's story intrigues me. However, the CGI really doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the animation. The music so far was excellent, and fit the scenes well. I'm looking forward to ep 2.

Here's hoping Jeanne will have a bigger role than just Nobu's love interest and he shows fan-service doll.

During the opening of the episode I was expecting a demon related anime. I jumped to the conclusion that they were burning witches? I was actually psyched for that and gave me hope for this season.
I was wrong and ended up with mechas. None the less I enjoyed the episode and I shall eagerly await episode 2. This episode reminded me of the fable the boy that cried wolf. In the end the wolf attacked but the peoples ignorance led to their demise.

I also like the art style and the main 3. Monkey is probably my favorite at the moment, was cook how he was running on par with that horse like creature.

Mechas are seriously starting to get repetitive for me. I reckon i would have enjoyed it more without the mechas.

+1 for Kawamori 101

Seriously, what did people expect? Also, Satelight has always been known for abusing CG.

Anyway, slower first episode than AKB0048 and Aquarion EVOL.

I hope it has hot-blooded action since the MC is a hotblooded protagonist.

Well if it helps the mech designs were by the same guy who did the mech designs for other famous series such as the majority of the Macross series. So I'm expecting some fluid transformation like the mechs in Macross

Give it one more chance. Maybe it'll clear up the huge mess it made in the next episode.

Looks like it'll be cliche though, typical anime show.

Meh, I'm not really a big fan of mecha anime. The setting was creative, but it seemed strange and I didn't really like it. The story was also all over the place and I found it somewhat hard to follow. I'm also not a big fan of CGI in anime.

Right now I feel neutral about it, I think I need to watch a few more episodes and see what happens.

At first I thought this was gong to a historical feudal era anime, but it was actually better than I expected. The savior-king, I cannot wait to see what the "fool" can do with the mech.

Great first episode!!!

Sengoku era?
Mech?
Oda Nobunaga being helped by Jeanne d'Arc and Leonardo Da Vinci?
King Arthur and Ferdinand Magellan (I guess it's him) as well?

Why thank you, I do plan to keep watching.

Reminds me of Sengoku Basara, and oddly Brave 10 as well.

Definitely agreed with the Brave 10, especially in the beginning with all the silhouettes of the people. It probably also has to do with the similar-ish character designs.

That aside, this was...kind of weird? Like some said, it felt a little hard to follow.

I probably enjoyed this more than I should've. I don't really watch a whole lot of mecha.

I like how the different eras are intertwined as two seperate worlds. The setting is interesting. Pretty crazy, but interesting nonetheless.

Will definitely be watching next week.

Also, Jeanne is hot. I hope theres a decent amount of romance between her and Nobunaga (though it looks like there most likely will be)

Ughhhh. I hate lazily cobbled together historical fiction mixed with sci-fi. It always feels like a bunch of people each had their own idea and threw them all in a blender. It's a shame too, because the cast is excellent.

It's interesting but at the same time feels like it's all over the place. So many themes and characters like the writer thought "oh this and this seem interesting...mix it all together and well if turns out bad, we'll just figure it out from there."

I'll stick around for a while I guess.

And native language of France seems to be Japanese too, something that I wasn't aware.

"IT WAS INEVITABLE"
With this deep and long quote I'm going to say, it was inevitable that I was going to enjoy this show. Freakin' Mamoru Miyano as Nobunaga, everytime he spoke I pictured in my mind Okarin.

Anyway, it's indeed well-done, I don't really like the character design more like bishounen-design but I'm going to get used to it.
As for the concept we can't say anything so far. It seems like Jeanne and Nobunaga knew each other in the past, so I bet it's a past-love as "Sousei no Aquarion" between Apollo and Sylvie. I just hope it doesn't turn out as "Aquarion EVOL".

Looking forward to see the mecha/design better next episode.
Oh the music is also good.

So it's like the 1400's but not really it's also kinda the future and armies are fighting with swords and stuff still but they also have giant mech robot things

I think that the East is less-developed than the tribes of the Stars, also I can guess that Eastern people are attached to their old culture which is why they seem to still use swords/daggers ect.

Definitely not your usual setting, i guess.

I don't think i'll be continuing. Mecha + historical/feudal japan+sci-fi space travelling + demons/witches is just too much. The episode was very messy and the different genres make the art look really weird. Maybe it'll balance out later on but meh i don't think i care enough to want to know what happens next.
