DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I actually like the story so far, it's pretty good even without a lot of action. The pace of the series is pretty constructive, I was glad that "English" was used in the beginning but then came the "Mandarin" XD At least they are using the languages at the right place :) |

But all in all, they're doing a decent job on speaking foreign languages. Russian in Durarara was SO horrible (when Simon and Izaya talked), I didn't realize it was Russian until I read about it in the novel. |

| Isao has a large bomb and shows a test run to important men he's kidnapped, cons the KMT and our group out of $1 mil a peice. Sakurai makes a rude comment about Yukina being able to leave, but having her memory wiped which she overhears. Then Sakurai goes to guard 'the prophet' while the others head to Mukden to catch a scientist. Just as it gets to the last part of the episode the action starts. Aoi jumps onto the back of a moving train after Shizune, his 'dead' girlfriend. Another good episode! :) |

True, but when the voice acting of the English actors is bad, on top of a lack of a British accent, I just can't be that forgiving. |
| Lytton's VA is terrible. Isao's VA was much better, even in English. But then again, that's no surprise. Lytton's VA is the same guy who did the Indian representative in episode 6. And he appears again in episode 10 as one of the American (or British) spies who rough up Kazura. Is the studio that desperate to get a native English speaker on the set that they have to reuse for 3 roles? |

Haha, yeah, that scene was funny, but in my view, it just goes to reinforce the fact that Yukina and Aoi are just friends and he's still hung up over Shizune. When Aoi said he thinks clumsy girls are cute, the first thing that popped to mind for me was Shizune meekly asking "Umm... how do I open this door?" On another note, Ramune's been around since the 30s??? |
| Feels like the story is just beginning now, but i am looking forward to finding out the truth behind Shizune. Lytton sounded like Mokuba (dubed)... Just throwing that out there... =P On a whole at least you can understand it. |
| "people get lost in between lies and truth" I just thought that line (from th preview) was sort of interesting. All in all, I love this series, especially because it's covering events that I've researched for a paper, so I know all about the historical context. A bit of personal knowledge seems to go a long way, now I know how it must feel for someone who lives in Japan when their home town gets called out, for example. I'll have to watch this again though, because I'm sort of forgetting the in-between of episodes and all that. This seems like a good episode though. |

Because they use the same voice actors for the main characters and they don't speak the language? They just hire some Chinese-speaking people for the none important characters. Anyways.
