So there's really no OP?

I think that the setting of learning of the magical power of the world is interesting, but not sure the meaning / purpose of the whole series.

Doesn't seem to be so by the way of it. There is an ED song though that is sort of catchy.

I liked some of the action of this episode though based on that strange game they're playing. It looks fun tbh, and I want to try it if I had psychic powers. I've never seen a game like it before though, so kinda wondering what the origins are..when the author wrote the novel/series.

At first glance, the game they were playing seemed to have one goal: Get the ball in the hole. Sure it would be easy if you could use your hands/feet but using the mind brings it to a whole new level.

I thought the op was going to be shown ep 3 or ep 4. The show is really just setting its self up so give it the time.

That seems likely to me too.

Pretty good episode. The archaic Japanese at the start was... interesting to translate.

Can't believe that game was a draw, that cheat. Still looked really fun though.
I really want to see what happens when their Juryoku gets sealed or what the forbidden knowledge is, so anticipating.

The ED intro sounded like Madonna's Don't Tell Me.. Or that's just me, lol. Still really catchy, I wouldn't mind there not being an OP (though, I think it'll appear later or when the plot sets).

Damn, that was a messed up moment at the beginning. o.O
Hopefully something interesting comes out of saving those creatures.
Still a bit of an uneventful series, still looks like it will get better.

I'm always interested in seeing this style of religion. The narrating character has me curious, but I hope this childhood portion continues for a while. Enjoying the current perspective.

Decent episode but didn't really show much. Just a few bits of foreshadowing here and there. I like the suspense of this show though.

Great ED...i guess it makes up for it not having an opening. The episode was nice. Seeing them play the game and also the cat strikes again. Seems the cat deals with rule breakers as well. Serves him right for cheating.

You're not the only one who forgot about her. LOL

This anime is a little slow IMO but interesting enough for me to stick with. That game they played looked really fun.

Guess the OP contains too much spoilers for it to show yet? Guess let it unravel it's main plot first which will probably in the next episode or so before the OP can showing up

So when people disappear for no reason..everyone just "forgets" all about them? Unless some power is making them do that its pretty bs. Although I'm not really complaining that the jerks who cheated and got away with it went poof lol. Kinda feel bad for that girl in the first ep though

Good episode; the game was interesting and so were the tactics they used. But seriously what a creepy way to end the episode, talk about ominous last lines O_O.

Didn't care much about the ball game, but the mystery seems interesting, hinting of something much darker. Reminiscent of Another, hopefully executed better.

I think the guy who cheated was "punished" and thus disappeared.

And the narrator...She talks about Maria, and that it would be better if she was not born - it would result in less dead people, if I remember correctly. So with the foreshadowing, is this like her past? Feels like something dark is approaching. I'm loving this suspense kind of atmosphere. They need to discover the robot already!!

SO CONFUSING BUT SO FREAKIN' INTERESTING!!

And that ending. <3
I'm fine without the opening. They'd need to have a really good one to match the mood this anime is setting.

Might try to read the novel later on. Seems like something I would like.

And this series better have a ending that follows the series. I'd hate for an original ending (lol, if they can pull it off, even).

The ball game was interesting and unique at the least and showed us some rules of the village. That mouse creature ...

Freaking. Confusing. Also this jumping around and switching from first person to narrative is really confusing me >_< I couple times it was hard to tell if the scene changed or if it was another flashback/look into the future. And I'm a bit worried about where this show is heading if things look that grim 500 years into the future... unless they end up time traveling or something weird.

The whole feel this has so far, with the mystery surrounding the village and people disappearing and the seemingly lack of care from other people, reminds me of something like "Brave new world" where the "government" is pulling all strings behind it all and such. Essentially, its just the feeling of something dark and sinister behind it all. (but seriously, how do you just forget about a friend that disappears?! something aint right here...)

This episode felt kinda boring though, almost filler-ish with the whole ball-game thing. I know it was necessary for setting up the plot and everything, but it just seemed like a pointless way of doing it.

Oh, and I love this field trip their going on. The schools sending groups of hormone charged teenagers camping alone without adult supervision for a whole week, who's bright idea was that lol?

The scene in the beginning was a flash forward from OUR present time. As in, the 21st Century. The first episode used the same exact formula. Hurr.

Ah, I see. That makes a lot more sense then what I was saying lol XD It just confused me because, unless I missed it, there wasn't really a way to tell if it was saying 500 years later our time or 500 years later their time.

At first I was annoyed by the beginning segments as nothing more than mindless slaughter used as fanservice for gore freaks. But the more i see it. It seems it's a dark reminder of what humanity had become after "cantus" was born. That maybe that utopia that Saki and the others lived in isn't really a utopia at all. Just a vision of what the 'powerful rulers' wanted.

It's obvious that something ominous happens to these children if they don't "make the grade." It almost has a Spartan feel to how the children are brought up. With the emphasis not being on strength, but on "cantus" abilities and their obedience to rules. In the first episode Saki's mother screamed about not wanting to lose another child. It was like her offspring were being destroyed if they weren't "perfect".

What bothers me is how the children seem so nonchalant about their friends and other children disappearing from the village. They really don't seem bothered by it. Especially Reiko. Though at the end, the narrative Saki does seem to wonder.

I thing the last thing that intrigued me was what Narrative Saki said about Maria. She made it sound like Maria is the focal point of war with many deaths. It almost has the feeling of bittersweet sadness when Narrative Saki pondered how Maria might have been better off not being born, especially when you consider that Saki and Maria have a sisterly vibe between them.

Also, something isn't quite right with the gueerats. The markings on the forehead. It seems really bad.

I hope I am wrong that those workingrats are actually those missing children.

I wonder what Saki meant by Maria not coming to this world would have spared hundreds. God this anime is so creepy. I am loving it!

And Mamoru is really cute. I'm sad I won't be around to watch the third episode next week... Ugh. I'm really curious to know what the last scenes were about.

Although it seems the story is building upon itself right now. Leaving questions like why does no one really care when someone disappears? At all :O
I have a feeling there's going to be a really interesting reason, like the game they played was amazingly thought out. Original :D Loving the series (:

It was a good episode. The ball game was ok for me, but most interesting was how the rule breakers disappear so I wouldn't be surprised if the girl who saved that worker gets taken away, also wtf at the start how the first 100 to stop clapping get killed?

The only one who knows what she did are her friends and the Queerats, but her friends told her they wouldn't tell anything, and the Queerats are most likely unaware of those rules.
