DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- That was a bitter sweet ending, because it may be the last of the excellent Banner of the Stars series. Lafiel and Jinto were much closer than the first three seasons, after the events of the previous series. It was kind of sad when Jinto met Till and was told he'd never be able to return to Martine after signing the contract. But, I would probably of made the same choice he did. |

| just finished the entire show in a marathon, great show. And I agree with the above we need the rest animated. I want to see more about Jinto and Lafiel and especially their children :3 |

| Since it seems that this will be the last Banner of the Stars they'll make, I have to say that it makes for a very pleasing conclusion to a great anime. Jinto and Lafiel are closer than ever and Jinto finally puts some closure to his status. He will remain an Abh noble and follow Lafiel. And in the process he saves his homeland from certain destruction were they to insist on independence. Had Banner come out years earlier, it would have been huge. Sadly there's almost no market for this kinda of series anymore. |

| Great episode and a nice conclusion to the trilogy. I was sad when Jinto mentioned he'll have Abh children in the future meaning He and Lafiel will be parents. I would have never though that Ekuryua is reckless in piloting making the passengers felt sick. She's quite jealous of Lafiel over him and she wants to spend the time alone with Jinto and lay to her seat as if asking to "do" her. Well it was obvious that she has a liking towards him since the first season of banner of the stars. If Jinto will make a harem she should be first to be added. Kinda sad how he can never go back to him Homeland and spend time with Lafiel. It was a nce space opera anime. The opening always reminds me of Star Trek series. One of the best sci-fi anime I've enjoyed. I'll never forgot this anime. I love the intense space battles and watching over the edge of my seat. How I wish I could've seen them in more space battles. |

| I weirdly didn't feel any romance closure. Hmm, and I may be the only one. Oh well, the show was good, but could've been better. I really liked the 'before the stereotypes' feel, not mentioning Ayako, who did a great job as a cynic tsundere. |
| I just finished it (watched all seasons in 2 days) and I liked it. If anything I would have liked them to at least kiss once. |

| Kind of a sad end to the show, Till and the rest of his homeland acted like idiots. If they decided to fight they would get annihilated just like the first time. Jinto was commendable for finding a peaceful solution, but the price he paid was ridiculous. I want more of this show. |

| I actually would say that the ending was fine however it could easily have sequels (or prequels for that matter) due to the format of the series . . . With just one mission each season, and seemingly jumping around, it lacks the fluidity that would make a sequel crummy. Though too be honest that was probably my biggest complaint, was that the plot was too choppy over the seasons, it felt more like . . . Well, it actually reminded me a lot of the two Gaiden series following Legend of the Galactic Heroes, where you know there is a main story going on (in this case Abh v. human war), and see some battles as well as their "ascent" but it avoids the main story. It just has the atmosphere of missing a central plot I guess. Anyways, I did enjoy the series, 7/10 |

Was that done out of spite? That epilogue slides actually almost made me tear up. I know Jinto and Lafiel will be together but I want to see more T__T And I'll actually miss the rest of the crew...*sniff* And that ending song...so fitting. |

I think it's because the Hayd family name is hated in Martine. Wasn't the father considered a puppet of the Empire, which led to his execution? Since they are surrendering to Empire once more, I think Til's government gained some legitimacy by deciding to exile Jinto. If they didn't include that in the surrender clause, they would see Til as a puppet of the Hayd family (Jinto) / the empire. It was probably a compromise between Til and the people who want to seek independence. |
| I prefer Banner of the Stars II as an ending, but this OVA wraps up the individual characters pretty well, including some left behind in the first season. Amazing series overall. It spawned some of my favorite characters in anime, and the enjoyable banter is only rivaled by few other shows I've seen. |
| I thought it was a perfect epilogue. Although I would welcome more content via the novels should they ever be completed (and, hopefully, translated), I feel that I can be completely satisfied with this. We got further confirmation of the nature of Jinto and Lafiel's relationship going forward, and the big loose string that is Jinto's homeworld got taken care of. It's ironic in a way. When faced with choosing between their people and an individual, the Abh as a culture would always choose their people. However, when Jinto was faced with choosing between his people and an individual, he chose the individual. That's not to say he wasn't helping his people, because he definitely was, but to have these two cultures joined through somewhat contradictory perspectives was an "elegant" final touch, in my opinion. Of course, the final touch for Jinto himself is deciding who he is and where he belongs. After questioning it for so long, and hesitantly dreaming of one day walking on the soil of his world again, he decides against it and has Lafiel herself deliver the essence of their relationship, and with it give closure to the (anime) series as a whole: "I will become his world, and he will become mine." Absolutely beautiful! |

| So basically they shot out the ground guns and the planet surrendered. Lackluster end to a lackluster series. S1: 5/10 S2: 4/10 S3: 2/10 dropped S4: 4/10 (this one, below average) The series failed pretty hard in the politics and war categories... not good because that is exactly where it should have focused. Jinto x Lafiel was never going to go anywhere anyways, so the nothing that happened there was fine. |

| Not the most satisfactory ending BUT what a ride this has been. I never would have expected this to become one of my favorite anime series I have watched. The chemistry between Lafiel and Linto has been fantastic to see develop to the current point. Thanks for a joyous ride! |

| It's overall very worth it. Lafiel was the one that got me into the series since she looks a lot like KOS-MOS from Xenosaga. The whole series is a 7.5/10 average and SnS II is the best season imo. |

| While the story does continue in the novels, this was a decent enough place to stop for the anime. The main problem the OVA series had is that there was just too much content to cover in two episodes. I wish the rest of the novels get adapted into an anime, but I know that's extremely unlikely to ever happen. The greatest strength of Banner of the Stars is that it is a legitimate Science Fiction story. The author created an interesting genetically altered race of people, a cool language for them, and a fascinating means traveling the galaxy to tie it all together. This is ambitious in a way that isn't seen anymore nor that appreciated. It was also fortunate the novels came out when Science Fiction anime was a big deal so we got three seasons of it adapted with an OVA finisher. |

The last quote was perfect for describing Jinto and Lafiel's experience across the series. He technically lost his homeworld here, or the chance to live there again, but he gained a home with Lafiel and the Abh ever since he left Martine. It may not have taken the form of a literal planet he built a house on, but he has somewhere he truly belongs nonetheless.

| Yes, I came here just to say this. I liked Jinto's journey. He started completely lost about his place in the world: not truly belonging to the Abh Empire, but also an outcast in his homeland (even though he was meant to rule it). He didn't belong anywhere. I found this ending satisfactory because it closed this storyline, as he was capable of choosing between both of them: to seek asylum in his homeworld, leaving the Abh behind; or to stay with the Abh, abdicating from ever returning to his homeland. He chose the former, but used his authority to draw up a very good deal for his people. Jinto matured enough to move on. He has many flaws, but I enjoyed experience this universe through his eyes. This is such an underrated anime. |
