Aww Joseph died. I like the show recently, it isn't just Versailles Today anymore.

It seems to be coming to a head soon, with the Etats-Generaux going on.

Haha, true, Joseph's admiration for Oscar came out of nowhere. And his death didn't really touch me either.

But I'm glad to see the Etats generaux assembled.

Bernard x Rosalie is kinda funny too, didn't expect that.

And Alain is back already :D (Well, It's been half a year, but only one episode ^^).

Aww yeah, finally got some Louis up in this. Uh, it's just pretty bad it has to be in an episode like this.
And with like, every character in this loving her, Oscar is now confirmed for the biggest player in Versailles, maybe even France.

I wished for this to be canon cause we both know how they feel about each other. xD

This should be renamed "Everybody Loves Oscar".

lol @ no one applauding for Marie I wouldn't either if she was spending my tax money on stupid shit like she has all those years.

Joseph makes his second appearance...and dies. Are we supposed to care?

How come it acts like he and Oscar are such great friends? I don't think they've even shared a scene before. All Joseph has done is get sick and make Marie feel guilty about committing adultery. He was a catalyst, not a character.

Something of a flub in the cultural setting; Joseph promises to be reincarnated as someone who won't die from sickness so easily but reincarnation is not part of mainstream Western religious traditions.

At least the revolution is finally going to happen soon. I've been pretty impatient for it to arrive for a while.

I don't quite understand when Joseph had the time to hang out with Oscar and fall in love with her, but that was terribly depressing. for a kid who's 7, he seemed wise and would have made a good king

I liked this episode, I'm glad the revolution is almost here.

Louis Joseph's death was pretty sad, but I wish he would have made more appearances so his death would've been more emotional.

It was pretty odd that he seemed so close with Oscar, so I'm just going to assume they had a lot of off screen interaction to have become so close.

Also, FUCKING FINALLY Louis XVI made a goddamn appearance. Jesus, it had been so long. Oh, and he walked right by Fersen no less. He should've confronted him over the affair.

Oscar is just too fabulous, everyone is into him.

Despite not having seen much of Joseph, this episode did a good job at making me care for him.

Wew, it's been a while since I've watched something try so hard to pull emotion out of me from nothing. Have they even shown Louis-Joseph since his birth? Yes it's saddening to see children die, good thing this anime didn't show any of the Parisian children starving to death during the riots when apparently half the city had devolved into looters and thieves, right? A wasted opportunity to develop actual drama due to the bizarre need to force in pointless melodrama, once again.

On that note, since when was André friends with the man that sliced his eye? And vice versa? For that matter, what did Rosalie end up seeing in Bernard? I get that they still exist in this world, but it's more like the show is trying find an excuse to fill time rather than continue to develop them. Bullet-point details in their lives are hardly developments when what led to them is never mentioned, those are just sudden changes without purpose. All the while months go by, the Revolution itself is being glossed over, and apparently Oscar & André didn't have any relation-developing experience in all that time. What was this anime building up to again?

Awwwww Louis Joseph was so cute, his little kid crush on Oscar is adorable. It was a sad scene, but he's lucky he passed away in bed, surrounded by loved ones, thinking of nice things - the revolution is going to be much more brutal to live through for his family.

The time is coming for Oscar and Andre to choose a side. Their sympathies are in a grey area at the moment, but that can't last forever.

I wanna marathon the rest, but I also don't want this show to end, I really love it. Totally buying the translated manga when that comes out.

Always sad to see a kid die, even though we've only seen Joseph one other time and don't built any connection with him. At least he didn't get killed in what is going to come for the rest of his family..

That scene with Marie Antoinette really hit. This story has done such a good presenting her in a balanced way. She wasn't a monster, just a selfish, insulated, self absorbed lightweight who couldn't see how her actions were hurting the people around her.

Yeah , Marie wasn't a monster , she was just a selfish brainless attention seeking free spirit kid in charge of the entire country. She was 14 or 15 when she was introduced , and her mental age was still around 14-15 for most part of the story. From what was shown in anime , her husband didn't do shit either.

Every scene with Marie were amazing, my favorite being the one when Fersen wanted to join her when she was praying but got interrupted by the king, magnificent.

Is Joseph a symbol of Oscar's affair with the nobles? I mean, his birth was the joy of everyone, now his dead only matters to very few; Oscar seems trying hard to ignore the chaos around her, let's see how she start acting from now.

Was quite frustrated they tried to make some kid confess his feelings to Oscar. It did not help that we never saw more interactions between them to really care.

Rest In Peace, Joseph. I hope Joseph's pain wasn't karma from his mother, but either way... as the narrator said, maybe it was a blessing in disguise. The scene when he "proposed" to Oscar was honestly very sweet and sad for me. Even though he almost never appears in the anime but I have a soft spot for little kids T~T this really makes me want to cry.

Even so, I was a little satisfied when Marie finally realized that the hatred and anger was caused and intended for her. Now I really feel sorry for the King and their daughter..

I feel so sorry for Joseph. Marie Antoinette is trash, but I do feel bad that she lost her son. I feel bad for her and her family.

Rosalie getting married to Bernard? Um... That's definitely a choice... I do respect that she moved on from Oscar (something Andre should've done a long time ago tbh).

Louis: is shown to prefer to spend his time on his hobbies; easily manipulated by things other nobles tell him; wasn't shown to do much work that is required from a king.
Antionette: the same as Louis in these regards except she was diligently doing the audiences until one point.

and everyone blames the queen but says nothing againts the king? pretending people (including her son in this case) are suffering solely because of her, calling her names, even feeling sorry for the king who isn't any better? this is uh... certainly a way... to interpret things... really feel sorry for her. ofc she wasn't perfect but she wasn't terrible and ill-minded too, and definetely hadn't deserved what happened (we know whats next right) to her.

anyway an interesting episode but probably won't make it to my top5 or smth. kid's death wasn't moving because this is basically a stranger character to a spectator. also had to search up Bernard because i forgot he exists lol. Rosalie's development though was - and still is - interesting to watch.

The queen just realized that no one likes her but I wonder why they do love the king if he was absent most of the time.
Is good to see Oscar's regiment fully respecting her and now with this assembly the things should calm down but for what the narrator said seems like is going to be useless. Rosalie appeared again and now is married to the dark knight. The prince died, who cares honestly.
