Definitely getting interesting. I didn't follow 100% of the dialog but I got most of it.. (Maybe I shouldn't always go for raws in these more conversational shows..)

Anyway, ep 5 was pretty quiet, but that seems to be the style of Mouryou no Hako by now. I wonder what role the two talking with Masuoka (I already forgot their names..) will have in the next few episodes, and if they actually know anything about the disappearance.

Definitely got the feeling that the guy at the end was onto Sekiguchi, I mean it's only natural.. with all his bizarrely accurate insight.

Well it appears that Aero Subs is experiencing staff problems and needs translators and translation checkers, type setters and more... So it doesn't look like there will be subs for a while unless someone else will pick the series up from ep. 4. It doesn't look like that is gonna happen. So you gonna have to practice your Japanese for now. Or you could just play add lib.

Still the best anime of this season by far. Everything's perfect, the only thing that could possibly make it better would be to have more explanations soon, but I'm not particularly eager either, since it's so great as it is now : mysterious, extremely beautiful, dark and compelling.

This is the fith episode and we still have no context for the seemingly main story. We just got more characters and more questions....I doubt that this show is going to be able to competently tell a compelling story. I've already lost quite a bit of hope by now.

Another episode of this show that raises another bunch of questions. With every episode I become more curious.

Don't talk to me about character development if Kaizuka Inaho or Slaine Troyard are in your favorites.

I think this episode is a little more confusing than others.... but there is an important aclarations: Kanako isn´t legitimate daughter.... and there is a bunch of money behind, but I still cant figure out what is the relation between the Kanako´s "murder" (or the thing happened at the train station) an d the death bodies in the boxes.....

That scene strongly reminded me of Stephen Kings "The Dark Tower" novel-series.

All in all a nice episode. But, as already mentioned, the story is still a bit too obscure. ;)

this confusion creates more intrigue hopefully a solid main story is revealed..Madhouse is probably the best in the business with Production I.G a close second.

The new blonde clairvoyant detective looks like Death Note's Near, if he were older and designed by CLAMP. ;)

I'm very confused by the subplot with the novelist... He has severe writer's block, wonders what it were like if he were a demon himself, his latest story is "Dizziness" about girls who share a soul...? What's his story? He gets details on the dismemberment case from the tomboy girl Atsuko-chan... And the possible clairvoyant at the end of the episode is her older brother?

Still many "???" and not many answers.

Brilliant series.
Isayama Hajime should be awarded The Manga with The Highest Inconsistencies of Characters' Appearances.
He keeps performing multiple plastic surgeries on those Shingeki No Kyojin characters in a SINGLE chapter.
Yes, I've read up to the latest chapter of Shingeki No Kyojin manga.
Forced myself to read through the kidsketching chapters after the anime's ended. At least from now on, I only have to go through the hell once a month.
Patiently awaiting SNK TV/movie/OVA anime-sequel.
The 2015 SNK live-action movie would probably suck.

Now we know what the deal with Kanako and the lawyers is. And a lot of clues are pointing to the storyline being part of Sekiguchi's fiction. Maybe he needs to murder to clear his head?

More characters, more dialogue.
I dont mind the dialogue but it's not really telling me what way they want to go with the story.
Still interested though.

I wonder if Sekiguchi already encountered the toori-mono. It's still interesting, but hard to make sense of everything going on.

So I was right about Yoko being Kanako's mother, wrong about Amemiya being Kanako's fiancee but rather her guardian/observer in relation to the rich guy who money she is inheriting.

So, half of the episode had no relation to the main story. It was about the validity of clairvoyance and two people with clairvoyant abilities. However, that guy, in the end, denied he had such ability.

The rest is about inheritance. I guess that explains Kanako's attempted murder and her disappearance, and the ransom. So that's why there's a big age gap between Kanako & Youko. Kanako is the daughter of Shibata's grandson Hiroya, and Youko is the daughter of Shibata Youkou a very wealthy guy.

Okay, the good part is that I saw a reference to the previous work. But man, I think the slow pacing in this plus the non linear storytelling is making this VERY confusing and uninteresting. In Ubume no Natsu you had the four detectives in the 3rd chapter, but here they went to ALMOST THE HALF OF THE SERIES to present all of them.

I also miss the impulsiveness of Sekiguchi and the eccentricity of Enokizu, here both characters are just... meh.

Slowest episode so far 😴 The long conversations are not the easiest to follow and get pretty tiring w/ subs.

Low quality animation now, why?! It's basically the only redeeming feature along with the ikemen~

watching, waiting, commiserating
