Yes they did put some on Tigers later on to counter it. At least the shells were better too. So either way Tigers became better at destroying heavy armored tanks. But they weren't meant for Western front as Allies didn't had many heavy tanks and Churchill, wasn't a huge threat. It was heavy, well armoured but it's canon was rather weak. On Eastern front they had a lot of use for those with JS/KV and way how Soviets were breaking through enemy lines. |

That hotel that was smashed ... is still open ! In Episode 4 at 12:16 a Matilda II on the Gloriana team skidded out of control and smashed into a hotel in the city of Oorai. A few hours ago the GaruPan people tweeted that this hotel is still open for business. Take careful note that this hotel ( 肴屋本店 / Sakanaya Honten ) was one of the few businesses shown in GaruPan where the real name was shown. In most cases they used a different name even though they showed the appearance of the buildings very accurately. Note also that the owner of 肴屋本店 was the only one of the townspeople who had any significant lines in Episode 4. He said, "My shop! Now I can have it renovated!" Hotel webpage: http://sakanaya-honten.com/ My question is, was the voice actor the actual owner of the hotel? Also, does he look like his GaruPan character? It would be great if any GaruPan fans who visit Ooarai can check into this. | So, I guess to adults and the like watching Tank Battles is a lot like a sport. This is pretty cool to me and it's a good way to get a feel for what this means in this series internal universe. Also, it seems that people get their places rebuilt if something happens. Talk about a win situation. Good episode, the battle was pretty entertaining and, despite losing, Miho's group looked pretty strong for it. Edit: Also, these threads are fantastic. You guys have no idea how refreshing it is to see a part of these forums that don't have flame wars and actually seem to help out other people who watch this series. Seriously, thanks for the info. I think all of this has helped me appreciate this series even more. |

| Mm, Darjeeling. ;) Oarai lost the match, huh. Still, it was a good showing by Miho and her crew. Gave the skilled enemy team a good run for their money and lost in the final 1v1. Tank drifting... that Mako is a pro tank driver. Her unassuming personality meant Miho wasn't a very charismatic leader; that spelled trouble when one team under her fled the battle. What she does have, is tactical talent - and her team's demonstration of that restored the other teams' faith in her ability. Interesting how the match was allowed to spill over into the town. There must be some really good compensation for damaged property if that shopkeeper was so happy about his shop getting wrecked. Hana got kicked out of her estate on land. But she's proving to be a girl with an iron will; Someone fit to tread the way of the tank. She'll be fine. So, American Sherman tanks are the tanks fielded by the next opponent, huh. |

| Just as I expected: Panzer IV medium tank, more maneuverability but less armor/less firepower; The student council's tank can't hit the broadside of an aircraft carrier, forget about the barn xD Chruchill Mk IV was a heavy tank and was one of the most heavily armored tanks amongst the allies in WWII. It's MC isn't all that strong compared to other heavy tanks but the difference in how the thick the armor was was ultimately the deciding factor. Still it was nice that the British(St. Gloriana) now have a new found respect for Oorai academy and even got some tea from them; Please tell me Oorai is not gonna go up at what seems to be a whole tank division of M4 shermans(I mean it's 5 v.5 right? Right????!!!!) |

| The tank's CG and animation are really good. I'm also enjoying the sounds of shells being fired. The tactic was nice but the lack of experience really told. I lol'd when the red tank was hit because of their flags XD |

| 5/5 This episode is spectacular when they start to fight tanks. An only flaw that has this TV series, as I thought in the past has the duty to condense into twelve episodes a plot that could be facing with twice the number of episodes, making consequently the fighting between tanks even longer and compelling. Really great director during the fighting, even in a short time there was an involvement of 100%! The drawings and CG were gorgeous as well as animations and sound effects. Just a shame that it was all too fast in the narrative. |

| It's like I'm watching Saki all over again. - Girl goes to school and avoids a club they are really good in. - Girl has sister who is famous for doing that thing really well. - Girl feels like her sister is superior (or both give off vibes that the two siblings are not exactly on good terms). - Girl competes in national tournament for said thing. |
| Judging from the outcome, I bet fighting Miho was more fun than Maho because with Maho the outcome is far from close, on the contrary. I mean, Miho tried to avoid tankery, had a team of misfits and tanks that were far from suited of tanking on the St. Gloriana tanks. And yet she managed to take out 4 of them, and the 5th was a close call. Maho, with more experience, a team that knows how to work together, and better tanks (assuming both is actually true) might as well eat teams like St. Gloriana for breakfast. |

| Tank match was fun. I expected them to lose but it was closer than I expected. I'm amazed that they were allowed to have the match in the city. You would think it would be expensive. Melodrama had me laughing. That was just too ridiculous lol |

| The narration starts from what you see in the first episode, but enriching it with new moments. The vision of the episoid is intriguing, engaging, and there are no dead moments, but full of action almost all the time, a pleasure this first battle with tanks. Good drawing quality, ditto the CG. The narration also gives us a further growth of the characters, in particular of Hana. |

| Lol this show is so absurd. The stereotypical mom "you can't do the thing you like" is just so much stupider given the context of moe tank fight clubs. Also that was some serious storm trooper aim. |

| Near enough a full ep for one singular battle. Not bad. The match itself was very close. So close that it could have swung either way. Kind of glad Miho's team lost tho. Hana has chosen to follow the path of tankery, much to her mother's dismay. To disown your daughter for that reason that's low. That dance tho... oof. A tournament arc, eh. Okay. |

| Miho and her team lost as expected. Armor is important in combat. Bright coloring and flags do not allow to hide. I also don't see much leadership ability in Miho. She is very lucky that the whole team is her friends. the more capable team of the president would be better off giving Stug or M3 General Lee. Saint Gloriana is also a "genius" of tank tactics, riding in the middle of the plain. 3\5 |

| So in the middle, we're taken back to the opening scenes in episode 1. They lost but they got the respect of Darjeeling who is so elegant. I feel you, Hana. Someday, your mother will understand. Their teammates are utterly incompetent. ugh, they better shape up. It's bad if we only see a one-tank team. |
