Nene definitely needs to be more careful around Shijima. She's a supernatural and isn't a pushover. But hey, she has Kou around to help her. Their friendship really is underrated in this show.

About half way through the show and she seems like one of the tricker characters to deal with.

I love how Kou’s instantly able to tell this world is fake because he know damn well his brother would not be cooking scones πŸ˜‚ this very well could be he and Nene’s most difficult challenge yet. Even though it’s not “real” having to kill Amane and Mitsuba to escape is cruel, especially given it’s their idealized versions who are living normal school lives 😒

Even tougher is knowing there’s an unspecified deadline after which they’ll lose their memories of the real world. Cruel position to be in.

“Human with an interesting shape” is CRAZY! I expected yuri vibes with Shijima and Nene lmao. Shijima generally seems like a nice girl, she did give them the exit strategy and didn’t attack Kou even after he was aggressive with her.

So Tsukasa knows it’s a painting as well, that “I hope you kill amane good” was dark lmao. This was such a tonal shift from Mokke of the dead. Can’t wait to see it all play out though.

But you want to go home, right? To reality?

You mean where two of these people are already dead? Where they can't really have fun together anymore? Where even one of them is gonna die soon? That reality? ... Yeah, I'm not sure I'd be in such a hurry to get to something that broken and riddled with pain, tbh. πŸ˜”

The way this series goes from mokke of the dead to something like THIS without any hiccup or stumble is insane.

Oh, so this is one of the seven wonders, that means this arc will be pretty long since it's a significant ghost.

It's offering multiple perspectives on this world. If you consider this world worthless and want to go back, just kill the two people you're surprised to see alive. There's something... Disturbing when Shijima offered Nene a knife to kill Amane, considering Hanako's murder weapon and how he very likely died.

At the same time, we see a world where the Yugi twins act like normal brothers, which is tragic. How they would've acted if they were alive, what they could've experienced. The tone for "I hope you manage to kill Amane." was great, too.

Shijima was trying to be scary but I’m too busy being absorbed by her cuteness to be spooked lol, HanaKana is perfect for her honestly. I also thought it was funny how she was fixated on Nene’s daikon legs, might be the most up close and personal we’ve gotten to them, but at this point they’re a signature part of Nene so she wouldn’t be complete without them no matter how much she hates the daikon jokes lol.

But despite Shijima being totes adorbz, what she said to Kou and Nene about breaking out of this fictional world was very dark, even if this Hanako and Mitsuba are fake that is a very tough ask, that’s something that would shock you to your core for as long as you live, so really it’s pretty unfair of Shijima to be like “Oh your real world is more important huh? Then kill these two fakes to show you mean it!” nah it ain’t that easy lol, especially when you consider how perfect this world is for everyone.

But the truth of the matter is this isn’t reality, no matter how good it is, you would just be living a lie forever and that’s just wrong no matter how you paint it (see what I did there lol), so I’m really hoping Kou and Nene can find the alternate path out of there, I’m thinking the same as Kou and that you shouldn’t trust Shijima so easily, and I’m wondering if that final bit between Sakura and Natsuhiko could be telling of something regarding that.

Nene and Kou investigating just what's going on here! Literally running after Mitsuba trying to get answers out of him since he definitely knows what's going on. At least they didn't have to badger him so much for the information he just told them to climb that weird tower. The apparition inside this artist girl Mijima is certainly missing A few screws. Her so nonchalant saying the way to get back to the real world is through killing Hanako and Mitsuba. Since they're the subject of this painted world their deaths would unravel it. But this is no small task, being forced to kill someone you care most about just to get home. Mijima explanation of everything was really unsettling to hear, she's so unattached in her way of speaking it's not right. Nene and Kou have a real dilemma of finding another way out of here. Tsukasa obviously knows what's going on too given what he said to Nene at the end there. Maybe this rooftop stargazing can help them figure out a way back.

So sad Nene is in a fake reality where both Yuki brothers, Amane and Tsukasa, are alive, and she has to unlive one of them along with Mitsuba. And yeah, in their real world they're already gone, but still is a loss.

@Marinate1016 Yeah, until she started talking about murder like it was just a take-out lunch. I didn't know whether I should laugh or shudder at that point. Pulling out all those implements, including the dagger & the mace did get a laugh though. I'm not sure she's evil or just broken at this point.
Amane's brother suggesting he let them kill him too was wild.

I could be wrong but I think there was a scene in an earlier episode that alludes to him being in on the setup.

HanaKana's adorable voice suggesting brutal murder in such an upbeat manner makes me feel some kind of way.

I mean the only episodes prior to this were the last two and obviously we didn’t see him last week. Two weeks ago I’m not sure

@Marinate1016 I went back to double check. It was at the end of Mokke of the Dead.

Not gonna lie, this episode gave me an uncomfortable feeling. Starting from Mitsuba's "hmm, is that so", Shijima's on-point acting (especially the seiyuu that managed to make me feel annoyed), and Tsukasa's scheming as usual. These ghosts really enjoy messing with people's lives. I do have a soft spot for Mitsuba, though.

I don’t remember much from Season 1, but this episode had a tense vibe because of the way Yashiro and Kou need to return to reality. It’s obvious they won’t kill Hanako and Mitsuba, so how are they going to escape this Tsukuyomi Infinite?

Am I supposed to find Number 4 annoying? Because she IS kinda annoying.
On a related note, I gotta love how HanaKana can voice both characters I find lovely (Mitsuri, Red Blood Cell, Shirase) and characters I wanna slap (Nadeko, Hana, this chick).
