| Lol Gaban was giving them the work just to suddenly give up. Even as a geezer he's still quite formidable, being able to hold his own against the 2 strongest Straw Hats, as expected of the left hand of the Pirate King. Very interesting line right there, asking if Shamrock was visiting Harald's grave. Seems like a throwaway line at first but the only logical reason for making such an assumption would be that they were on good terms with him. That's just adding more plausibility to the potential bait and switch of Harald being evil and possibly plotting with the Celestials/WG, with Loki being a good guy who had a justifiable reason to kill him. With the arrival of 2 new Holy Knights, and Shamrock talking about turning the kidnapping of the Giant children into a game, this almost feels like we have a potential God Valley 2.0 on our hands. |

Luffy was just trying to take the key so that's normal. If it was an enemy Luffy would not "attack like a fool"
| @Wiper91 Luffy can usually tell how strong someone is. For instance, he remarked how tough Fujitora and Inuarashi are without seeing him in action. Luffy's Observation Haki being even better at this point makes this even dumber. Like he has Future Sight, why not stay calm and try to use it instead of taking things lightly? Oh, I forgot, this supposed to hype up Gaban, so Luffy has to look like a complete novice. If there's one thing Oda shouldn't do it's nerfing strong characters to make others look strong. |

Luffy was just trying to take the key so that's normal. If it was an enemy Luffy would not "attack like a fool"
He doesn't know it because he didn't read the chapter, he just wanted to start the discussion and comment something on it based on spoilers.

Stronger people can hide their strength probably even against observation Haki and he wasn't able to see future either. Gaban easily dodged all the attacks and hit Luffy too. Maybe Gaban was also using Haki which can negate observation Haki, and Luffy doesn't know about it that yet.
I think it's a good thing he is using gear 5 more, he will have better control over it just like previous gears.
| @Ruthless_Lord "Probably" There was no sign of him comcealing his presence nor any indication that Luffy couldn't use his own Observation Haki and FS. He was just conveniently not using any of his skills. It's just how Oda always does it, nerf Luffy to make his opponent look even stronger by comparison. He especially glazes the old gen. Granted this is just a skirmish, yet it could've been handled a lot better. His clashes are usually too one sided. |
