Well played Kirishima. One of the underrated aspects of this show is the mental games these characters play wtih each other.

Yoshino somehow always gets caught up in the drama but she handles herself well. Plus, Kirishima just wants to prove that he deserves to be by her side. Their chemistry is still fire this season.

If you can't beat them, fuck their moms. That's rules to live by right there.

Now that Kirishima and Yoshino have both physically and mentally laid the smackdown on Ozu, it should make some space for Kirishima to pursue... whatever he's pursuing with Yoshino, or for Azami and this next villain to step in. The show's got me to the point where I'm actually looking forward to things.

Shouma went from being a simp, to being a simp who can fight. Nao, I still can't get over those eyes. "Yoshino looks stupid and has a bad personality..." Look at yourself!

Nahhh man Kirishima setting Ozu’s mom up to get fucked by a random dude and using it as blackmail is some of the most heinous shit I’ve seen in an anime. Yea technically Ozu was doing similar shit with the Nao and Kirishima blackmail, but it’s something different about using someone’s mom. There’s a special place in hell reserved for him 😭 I guarantee buddy will NOT be causing any more problems for anyone going forward now

Shouma getting a little annoyed about Yoshino not picking up the phone when he tried to check on her was really cute

As if we needed any more confirmation, but Kirishima admitting he goes between wanting to cherish and kill Yoshino just shows how batshit insane he is lmao. And now because Yoshino opened her big ass mouth to promise she’d date him if he solved everything by midnight and survived, she’s stuck with him for the time being. Rock paper scissors not saving you, girl lmaoo.

And it looks like the big players are finally making a move. Like I said last week, pretty sure this all has to do with Yoshino grandfather’s friends betraying him and making a power play for his turf. They looked very sus at the meeting a few episodes ago. Gonna be interesting to see how things shake out.

Yoshino is always gorgeous but holy shit it feels like the staff went harder on her today. Kirishima asking how someone could hit such a beautiful girl is real af. Really one of my fave art styles/designs

If there's one lesson to be taken from this episode, it's clear: don't mess with Kirishima unless you're prepared for him to send someone to fuck your mother, an act of psychological warfare that you simply can't recover from. The irony is brutal, though, as Kirishima's move mirrors exactly what Ozu does to women, so Ozu really has no right to complain.

And now, thanks to a game of rock, paper, scissors, they're officially a couple! Poor Yoshino might end up regretting her idea of settling things with such a simple game. Still, despite their unusual dynamic, they actually make a surprisingly good couple.

So they've just been running around in circles, huh? It's good to see that they'll finally call it official soon though. After hearing that sickening POV, it's best to rather be cherished indeed, lol.

Gee, Kirishima getting that poor lad's mother laid though, that'd hurt anyone...

More troubles to come foreshadowed by someone non-Yakuza. I wonder if the character right before the ED has something to do with it.

@-Hotaru_ Oh, thanks for letting me know that! I completely forgot about that, lol. I’ll watch a quick YT vid on it sometime before the next ep to make sure I’m not completely lost.

Just to clarify, in Japan you become an adult at age 20 (hatachi/はたち/歳) not at 18 like in most countries in the rest of the world. So even if Yoshino is 18, she's still considered a minor in Japan and isn't allowed to drink alcohol. Only once they become 20, can Japanese people drink alcohol.

Other than that, great episode, the story is only becoming better and better. Unfortunately if this has only 12 episodes, I think episode 11 will cover chapters 22, 23 and 24 and episode 12 will cover chapters 25 and 26. So no chance for chapters 29, 30 and 31 to be covered (my favorite chapters in the manga, they're so suspenseful).

The character right before the ED is Akime Hishiba, one of the yakuza bosses, who is "friends" with both Kirishima's grandfather and Yoshino's grandfather. Akime appeared before, in episode 3, where they show a gathering of yakuza bosses.

Can't believe we only have 2 more episodes to go! Considering the more relaxed episode we got this week, I suppose the final 2 episodes are going to be a final sprint in terms of action and plot progression!

Regarding this episode, it's wild that Kirishima payed a guy to have sex with Ozu's mother, just to be able to blackmail him to stop blackmailing Nao, and all this because Ozu was too good in hiding his dirty secrets. Yoshino wasn't really pleased with that though. Anyways, Ozu is a jerk, and now he won't be bugging Nao anymore, but watching a sextape of his mother cheating on his dad with someone of his own age... That must be traumatizing, Kirishima was wild for that.

Loved the interaction between Yoshino and Shouma, especially when Yoshino started saying that she didn't know that Shouma would get beat up, and he was like "What did you say?". Yoshino doing spionage with a truck was also iconic xD

It seems Nao has finally put an end to her relationship with Kirishima, which makes him free for Yoshino I guess. Now, Yoshino just needs to, you know, like him back. But that won't happen that soon.

The talk between Yoshino and Kirishima explained a lot of what happened in the last few episodes, as expected, but it also made us realize once again how we don't even know what's on Kirishima's mind, because what do you mean you want to mess Yoshino up, and also spoil her? But I'm glad that Yoshino stood her stance this episode, contrasting her posture from episode 1, where we had a similar situation.
I saw people saying "Oh, he's letting the intrusive thoughts win" or "He's the intrusive thought", but honestly speaking, but this of messing Yoshino up might be an Intrusive thought, if he really doesn't want to do it, and also, people with intrusive thoughts (Like people with OCD) don't act on those thoughts, and the anime is pointing out that Kirishima, in a way, isn't opposing this intrusive thoughts (and causing mental struggle, due to this opposition, is part of the definition of an intrusive thought). But it would be interesting if Kirishima really had a psychiatric condition that would lead him to have these intrusive thoughts.

Really not sure what to think about Yoshino and Kirishima's relationship, only that I still ship Yoshino more with Shouma. Also, when she started overthinking the Rock, Paper and Scissors, I immediately knew she would lose. Conclusion: don't overthink guys.

Still shocked that my monday routine of getting home and watch this anime while I eat some snacks is about to end in 2 weeks! Really happy that I picked to watch this anime this season, because it's truly something different from what I have seen, and it's a good anime too! The slow score drop is not deserved, but that's only my opinion. But at least it's getting some recognition! Also, Under and Over is such a great opening!

I think I agree with one of the above comments that kirishima’s comment was genuinely just intrusive thoughts. It’s evident he does actually really care for yoshino as referencing was he mad at her for tracking him, he’s referring clearly to sometimes she does things that makes him want to cherish her and other times she does things that make him want to ruin her or at least that’s how I interpreted it. I don’t think it’s a general thought that he just walks around sometimes wanting to cuddle her nd other times wanting to kill her. I think it’s an understandable intrusive thought when you see how much yoshino throws his affection back in his face and blocks his advances (well within her right to do so). So yeah still showing his sociopathic tendencies but again I think it’s just an itch he has when she does this stuff to him even tho he does also kinda like it.

I love how natural all her relationships feel. I know it’s a wild comparison, but it reminds me of Dungeon Menshi in how the characters act so naturally together- with little quirks and jabs -that they seem like genuine friends and family that have histories spanning beyond the scope of the story.

I wrote a whole thing about Kirishima’s “I want to mess you up, but also spoil you” moment a short while ago that I’ll post here under the spoiler if anyone is interested in my character dive.

At this point, I think Nao is just super jealous of Yoshino and is projecting SO hard when she calls Yoshino stupid. Girl, you're the one who got played here, and Yoshino helped do that. She's just super salty. Also, love how our girl is trying to win with rock paper scissors and still loses 😂

Yoshino never stop surprising me. Unfortunately, this is just going to make Kirishima love her even more.

And Kirishima, what the heck man. He gets the dude's own mother wrapped up in the same situation as Nao. The audacity is too strong XD.

Thought she had completely forgotten about the bet or was trying to sweep under the rug. I guess they'll be an (reluctantly on Yoshino's part) item now?

It seems we're going to see what the Yakuza bosses are up to after all. These next episodes are about to be a blast.

It cracks me up that giving a minor alcohol is considered as bad or worse than pimping or assault and battery.

And blackmail is a theme that comes up constantly in manga/anime, it must be a cultural hangup.

While the entire arch that just finished was well done and enjoyable, I've got to say that the best part was "Rock Paper Scissors" bit at the end.

She was so confident and lost ... I started busting up laughing 😂
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

So everyone who has weird eyes is evil, right? That's what I've been noticing recently. Yoshino is one of the few people who don't have crazy looking pupils.

This was a good episode. Kirishima is such a cruel dude lol the fact that he set up Ozu's mom with some rando.

Nao is jealous of Yoshino, without a doubt. The fact that she called Yoshino stupid is hilarious bc she helped Nao get out of the situation she was in lmaooo Nao was scared to death in most of the previous episode while Yoshino was arranging things in the background being fearless.

He went after his mom lol or more specifically, sent a guy and recorded it. I'll miss Nao, think she likes Kirishima. Kirishima with a fan favourite line lol. Their toxic relationship is oddly amusing. Also the third guy from the past who's also a yakuza head now, he seemed sus and I'm pretty sure he's involved in the internal beefs that'll happen. Renji is defo pulling some strings though. He seems like a fun and chill guy but he's gotta be cunning. Not sure about Gaku, he seems the most earnest among them all.

I think they lower the age of adulthood mainly to increase voting of younger population. Japan is an aging society so politician leaning too much to give favour to elderly people to get those votes
