Guys, the show looks good but there's something wrong with it.
The way they talk and their behaviors are weird

It is pretty amazing how we got from here

in a couple of episodes, to here

This scene was just genius.

This episode reminded me of the Joker quote:
"All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That's how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day."

Of course, I doubt she will do anything drastic, but we'll see.

The premise of this show continues to baffle any logic. Kobato’s idea of ordinary is “Get robed, get blamed for it, do nothing about it” What an absolute omegacuck, even the stress-eater girl has more balls and self-respect. I swear i hope he gets his ass kicked and man the fuck up from his npc act
@Dw00010 Kobato is right though
in these situations, as an "ordinary person", you cannot do much
confronting the bike thief is usually a bad idea because they aren't exactly nice people (or they wouldn't be stealing bikes) and probably can win in a fight against you
the most you can do is to report it to the police, who will do nothing about it

her anger is 100% justified, but still the smart thing would be to let the whole thing go, and continue with her regular life
but of course in these situations it is hard to choose the "smart" way and I do hope she'll get her revenge somehow

Since episode 1, I truly felt familiar with the place where this anime is set (the city, environment, bus, crossing bridges, etc., especially from the ED)
but it wasn't until I saw that Tokai Driving School that it clicked to me
and after I checked it I thought damn, it's so close to where I live

Finally, the series has some momentum going.

Why wasn't this the second episode instead of the overly prolonged "how to make 3 cups of hot cocoa" one?

They are indeed a bunch of weirdos.

What if the rest of the episodes are going to just be about her trying to get her bike back 😭...I'm saying it as a joke...maybe... I'll probably stick with it though no matter how slow the series is because the three characters dynamic is fun especially Kengo. If it wasn't for him I would have dropped it by now.

Osanai seems to have a hidden side we haven't seen yet. I'm really curious about where this is going because it feels like they're slowly building up hype for a big plot twist, which i really hope is coming...

@Satoshi17 Her hidden side, I reckon, is in what way is she not actually ordinary. Kobato is not ordinary because he can easily dwduce things, but what about Osanai?

Probably, she has other qualities like you said that she is not yet showing but probably related to her gift.

Sakagami really messed up by putting Yuki on a revenge arc like that.

On a different note, Jougorou’s knack for solving the riddle of the broken glass vase during the exams proved he just can’t resist a mystery.

Is this really a mystery if the guy can solve the issues within 5 seconds of it happening? This anime is extremely boring and I don't really understand the premise of it. Like its a pretty anime, but the characters are off. Why didn't Kobato snitch on the cheater? I would've lmao

@cooldogmom the premise is that for some reason (something happened in the past), in this anime the "genius detective" does not want to solve the mysteries
he "accidentally" solved the mystery in the 1st and 2nd episodes, but this episode we have seen that he's actively trying to avoid getting too involved, he has a lead in the bike theft and glass-shattering cases, but he just wants to leave it at that and not continue digging
but since Osanai is not willing to stop, she's basically forcing him to change his standpoint

he didn't snitch on the cheater, because the mystery is not solved yet, as they said it might be more complicated than it seems at first look, and overall as an "ordinary person" he doesn't want to change the status quo, as even though they found out the culprit in the 1st episode, they didn't tell anyone

their fixation on this "ordinary person" thing is indeed strange, but this is the big mystery in the show, what past event made them to be acting in this rather strange (ironically called "ordinary") way

They were standing on a street corner, then a second later they were on a bridge, then back to the street corner. Something similar happened in Ep 1 when they went to the sweets shop. Is that just for dramatic effect, or is this more than a SOL anime?

@90293otaku I interpret that as a directorial choice of scenery that only us the audience can see. For now, whenever it is done, I interpret it as shared experience/understanding between Osanai and Kobato.

Osanai is out for vengeance and I'm here for it. Felt like something other than Kengo derailing the show with his boring nonsense finally happened. Not going to get my hopes up too high, but Osanai and Kobato using their wits to take down or punish a gang of hooligan youths sounds all kinds of awesome and different if the show pulls it off even just halfway decent.

So, let me review the situation at this point.
1 They know the thief's name (Sakagami),
2. They know exactly what he looks like,
3. They know exactly where to find him (the driving school), and
4. The city just leaves a run over bike in the road for several hours (or all day, not quite sure) for other motorists to run over after the first driver ran over it.
Who wouldn't just contact the Anime Police Force in this town and let them proceed with contacting the thief and bike reparations. 2 witnesses from a prestige school make an airtight case. This is what "Ordinary" people do in my way of thinking.

5. In order to see the taped cheat sheet on the desk (written in a small font size), a person would need to be sitting in one of three desks at most. Check grades of those 3 and make your conclusion. Not very hard to do.
Still watching this only out of regards to Hyouka (which I gave a 10 rating years ago) and it's writer.

@Catalyze the two of them are trying to become "perfect ordinary citizens"
in their way of thinking "ordinary citizens" don't get involved in such cases, even if it is their bike that gets stolen (but now that Osanai is pissed off, she is disregarding this)

"ordinary citizens" also don't solve mysteries, in the first 2 episodes he got carried away and "accidentally" solved the cases, but he even apologized after
in ep 3 we can see he doesn't want to solve either case (the cheating or the bike theft)
IMO it is a rather interesting premise, there is a "genius detective", but he is avoiding solving the mysteries (sort of the same as in Hyouka, although there the dude was just lazy, here he has some bigger reason behind it)
now that Osanai refuses to stand down, he is basically forced to investigate the bike theft case

and yeah their way of being "ordinary citizens" is not exactly ordinary, but eventually we'll probably get to know what past event made them develop such an odd behavior

but yeah the bike still being on the road untouched is rather weird
although they did mention that it is on the outskirts of town, so there isn't a lot of traffic

@Twiist Actually, the translation didn't seem odd because the context was Osanai was upset about her not answering the test questions properly.

I don't know if fukushuu as revenge is written with that kanji in the novel, but I am inclined to believe that the text is fukushuu meaning review but the subtext is fukushuu as revenge. In other words, a pun.

The beginning was confusing, but as it progressed, it intrigued me and I loved that. I adore the protagonists and their attempt at normality clearly overshadowed by a force much greater than that desire.

If Kobato is concerned about what others think of his meddling he could only get involved when asked and do so discretely to not it be known he is involved.

Osanai wanting revenge is amusing for someone so timid acting.
