Yup, I can't wait especially how long it will be so that's just the perfect opportunity to come back stronger anime-wise...
At least Sakurasou was original thanks to the main girl personality I would say.
Yes that's exactly my situation too, I know some shows I just used to hate because I was too young to understand them and it goes for different genres, psychological romance and complex relationships for example, I just wanted the pointless kind of romcom that has no drama and all because I was young xD And some other shows like seinen ones etc, I didn't like Serial Experiments Lain when I 1st watched it I just thought it was weird but after rewatching it several times later as an adult it became one of my fav anime
Yes I think that's the case, you can also see that by simply rewatching stuff and see how it doesn't hit like it did before even though you still like them like back then, and your taste also evolves with time, there are so many shows/genre I used to love back then that I can't really stand nowadays (like most isekai for example) and sometimes I check shows I watched 5-6 years ago and I'm like how it is possible that I loved this before?? some stuff goes from 8/10 to 3/10 in my perception and it's pretty rough and discouraging when you want to check new stuff, the more you watch the more you're used to the gimmicks and genres so it's rare to be surprised and feel like you're watching something totally new...
I think I'll just keep watching less and less, for example I only watch a single episode of seasonal per day, back then I was able to watch up to 8 of them daily which is insane now that 2 is already too much for me, I'm going to totally stop them for two months soon since I'll be in Japan for this period and won't watch anything, then I'll see if my perception change after experiencing the anime culture there and have taken a break during this time
Damn sakura-sou it's been a while I heard about it, but true it was good... Yuru Camp never change at least.
You can still follow them from time to time, or watch a few shows weekly since just 2-3 eps per week is easy to manage.
I don't think the quality has gone down, obviously there are more forgettable shows and low budget production simply because there are more shows produced each season but there are also a lot more very good and high quality stuff everytime, I just feel like I watched too much so I just got used to shows, that feeling of discovery isn't here anymore, and now even when it comes to amazing show I rarely get hyped or hooked by something, I probably need to do a pause and this feeling might appear again who knows....
Damn you're right it's been years, already feeling nostalgic especially back in 2019 I was hard grinding shows, I kept watching a lot in 2020 and 2021 as well but nowadays I don't watch that much, I mean a few eps per day but that's all, I don't have the same passion as before sadly and also have less time, I'm more passionate about cinema nowadays to be honest. So you're planning to watch anime again?
