| That woman Lawrence met this episode gave me some eerie vibes although I think she can be trustworthy. Holo is in a happy and cherry mood this episode, although it also felt like Lawrence was doing most of the work this time around. He handles everything a realistic approach, something that hasn't changed much throughout this season. |

| You could feel it wasn’t the festival itself which Holo was looking forward to, but it was the time she could’ve spent with Lawrence there. I agree he has his reasons, but letting Amarti be Holo’s hangout partner in the festival just wasn’t it, I mean that guy is fucking clingy lol. By the way, I would say Dian’s introduction was the first important bit for Lawrence to know about the land he is heading off to with Holo after all this time. She looks full of mystery though, I mean blame her profession for this lol. I remember the tone being a bit more dark when she was introduced in the main series. Anyway, now this arc is showing its true colours, or more like would start to show from the next episode. |

| Diana is finally here! Lawrence, seeking to verify the story he once heard from a traveling preacher that Yoitsu was destroyed by a monstrous bear, searches for a chronicler knowledgeable about the old tales of the northern regions. His merchant colleague, Marc Cole, introduces him to an experienced traveling merchant named Gi Batos to act as an intermediary. Batos then guides Lawrence to a chronicler named Dian Rubens, who resides in an area inhabited by alchemists. Poor Holo having to go to the festival alone. She was begging for Lawrence to go with her. Hopefully Holo simp, I mean Fermi will keep her good company. We finally get to see the witch of all witches Diana at last. Best girl btw. She finally breaks the big revelation to us that Holo's village is indeed destroyed and gone thanks to that bear thing. That aside, this episode was where I started to hate Fermi in not only the OG, but this one made me feel that same hatred as well. What could've made Lawrence run that fast at the end.... |

| Another week not being married to holo 😢 finally some progress on the Yoitsu plot though! So it was destroyed by a bear wtf?? I want someone that looks at me the way Holo looks at bread when Lawrence brings it lol. Cute little start to the episode with Holo wanting to go out to the festival, love how she teases Lawrence with the idea of her bringing someone back to the room 😂. “Well for now snuggling in your arms is the best do not fret” they’re so cute! The trip to the alchemist/chronicler was cool. I’m really caught up on what’s going on with this bear that supposedly destroyed Yoitsu. If the town actually is gone, I can’t imagine how devastated Holo will be since this has been her big wish for the last however many years .. I guess in a way that would solidify her staying with Lawrence and letting go of the past, but still.. we’ve got much more specific locations in mind so hopefully we’ll make our way there soon. What’s up with the ladies in this series teasing their partners lol, Lawrence old buddy’s wife threatening to make Amati a cake was funny. Had a very realistic mature flair to it, minor scene but just really liked it! “Getting on your good side puts a man in the red” aka happy wife happy life, Lawrence my boy. It ain’t cheap keeping a cutie like Holo happy lol. Wonder what the boy told Lawrence to make him run off in a hurry like that?! Next ep should be good |

| Lawrence couldn't spend the day with Holo because he needed to find out more about Holo's hometown Yoitsu. As a result, he lets Amati keep her company for the day. It's just as his friend said. How dense can he be? Also, how young is Amati anyway? Can he really drink alcohol? The place Lawrence visited with the coffin-sized man didn't look as dreary in the remake version. Not sure if that was a good or a bad thing. Diana is... enchanting. The story she said about Yoitsu is worrying. The town just doesn't exist anymore because a moon-hunting bear attacked it? Must be one heck of a beast. I like the fairytale vibes of this show. It's not quite fantasy but it isn't like the real world either. It kinda reminds me of children's storybooks with pictures I used to read as a child. Albeit they weren't nearly this complex. I wonder how Lawrence would break the news to Holo and how she would take this information... Their journey together could end right then and there. But before that happens, sleepy Holo is cute lol. Sadly, the scene seemed cut short compared to the original and her curling up in the bedsheets wasn't nearly as erotic... I wonder what the hell happened that made Lawrence run like that. I can't tell if it's something comedic or something serious happened even in this version. |
| Learning about Yoitsu a bit more was nice and Diana was also good to see here after a long time, she actually looks better in this version than the older one for a nice change and the story she told does corroborate to some degree. Bit of a slower episode but not bad, although I can already feel some forced dramatic elements being built up a bit with Lawrence being dense again with Amati's approach with Holo in their conversation that had Amati go spend time with Holo while Lawrence was busy and the ending there with Holo talking about how she owes Lawrence a large debt and is traveling with him for that reason. Didn't exactly love some of the decisions with some characters in this arc and can feel that this is going to not be the best experience I have with Spice and Wolf over these next few episodes. The series has always got to find a way to make Lawrence look frustrating and have him overcome the odds to survive in not only his financial well-being but have his relationship with Holo survive too but this arc does feel more forced already in that retrospect to get to those challenges. I will say, there was in an earlier episode, a reference with Lawrence hearing about Yoitsu and what happened to it being shown without hearing what was actually said that had him panic so it was nice to bring that little scene back with the audio now that the Yoitsu portion of the story is relevant in this arc. It was an alright episode with some build in ways I liked and ways I didn't, and Holo and Lawrence's characters while having some nice moments together like Lawrence's jealousy showing when Holo was teasing him about being out and bringing another man while Lawrence was out. But they were more separated of course in this episode than not so the charm was a little lacking here. You can't have them be together 24/7 in this show in every single episode so makes sense for this to happen here. Just not its best and with what is to come, can't say I'm screaming with excitement either with this arc next week. |
| A shame Lawrence has to be away from Holo so much at the moment, but it is warranted because Lawrence is trying to figure out where Yoitsu is, and it’s not good that all he’s heard about it is that a bear destroyed it lol, I would say I’m surprised but this is a series with giant wolves, guess it makes sense that there would also be giant bears. And it was cool meeting Diana, she’s pretty and mysterious, a good waifu combo lol, and she had some more interesting things to say in regards to Yoitsu, but it was about a different town that Holo apparently visited long ago, since we know Holo it was more like hearing about her past than a legend. And it seemed harmless to let Amati hang with Holo since Lawrence can’t, he seems nice enough, but what Marc said about him makes it sound like it’s a bad idea to let Holo be alone with him, guess it would be bad if Holo got rizzed up by a kid lol, but there could be more to it than that as well. And that last bit about the fortune teller was interesting, Lawrence saw through the scheme but it sounds like many got conned, it’s a cool looking rock tho I guess lol, and damn we had to get left on a cliffhanger like that with Lawrence running because of whatever that boy of Marc’s told him, I’m interested in finding out what it is tho. Also RIP crunchyroll comments, not sure if they’ll stay gone but it was this episode when I found that out. |

| Working with alchemists sure requires a strong stomach huh. That story that Diana told was defo that of Holo. The rumour about Lawrence and Holo though was pretty funny. A merchant and a Nun is certainly a odd couple no matter how you look at it. Curious to what the message was about given the haste to which Lawrence rushed off. |

| Lawrence's journeys are a dime a dozen, but spending time with Holo is once-in-a-lifetime, and really, there's no point going to the festival on her own whilst Lawrence needs to take care of things, like old stories of the Northern lands that he's vested in interest to learn. Aside from Fermi's obsession with Holo, Gi Batos escorting Lawrence to visit a chronicler living as an alvhemist in a heavily toxic-fumed slump area to find one Dian Rubens, though it's a woman with a man's name. Lawrence going to Diana to learn about the old stories of Yoitsu, and sure enough, he got Holo's story in minute detail, only twisted if he heard the unfiltered story outside which the Church bars her from doing so. And Marc's worries of Lawrence ditching Holo is largely unfounded, and with Fermi dealing with Holo and giving her rather lofty things, like a die that is a natural mineral which looks like gold to con people, something bad just has to happen to Marc, leaving Lawrence on the chase. A slow journey this is feeling like one...even slower. |

| Nice little episode. We now know approximately where we need to go to get Holo home, but again this was another slower episode. The ending had a cliffhanger, so I hope that it is something huge and interesting. (6.5/10) |
