I watched episode 4-6 on the last day they were in cinemas in Ikebukuro. This episode was mostly back to the set up phase, with Neo-Britannia unveiling their plan to destroy the 'terrorists' supposedly attacking just outside their territory. The highlight was of course seeing the return of Nina with her new weapon technology. There has been a lack of original characters in this series so it was nice to see Nina play some role. I did find it funny that they attempted to tackle the ethics of creating weapons and the intent behind it; let's just say this is no Oppenheimer.

@InfinityDude88 Have they always done these special events for anime? like a preview before it hits TV?

@Zane_0 Not sure when they started doing these sorts of releases but its been going on for quite a while. For example, outside of Code Geass the new Idol Masters season (both the first and second cours) have also gotten theatrical releases before the TV broadcast. I really don't see it as being all that different to recap movies which are essentially just the same concept but released in cinemas after the broadcast instead of before. As a sucker for going to the cinema I am perfectly happy with them releasing series in this manner though. It pleases both theater goers and people who prefer to stay home at once.

Seeing pizza girl accompany her Warlock again after all this time makes me so irrationally happy

...And Nina's here too, I guess. Table-kun will probably never get justice but I'll be impressed if they manage to successfully redeem her for the FLEJIA.

Also gotta love how Haruka even adopted Kallen's tsundereness as her standin lol

The only problem I have with this show is that it looks like it needs an extra four episodes to flesh things out properly. However; I do like what this show has given us thus far. So far, it's been a 7.5/10 experience for me.

Many faces of the past, welcomed ones, some more than others.
Nina stand neutral for me, but she being there already set the feeling that things will explosive.

Next episode we are back to aerial battles, probably.

I realy made myself to believe that I mistaken Damocles at the begining of the show, ut its really there...Damocles that was a pinacle of Code Geass weaponry, Damocles obtaining which was deciding factor of rulling the world, Damocles burning which was a symbol of piece. And now...its just a mid season boss in the hands of secondary characters. The show had a potential to be just unneeded okaysh spin-off, but with every episode it just making things worse

C.C. and L.L. in the present! On their world-spanning hunt for Geass, L.L. bestowed said on his niece for reasons he won't yet disclose to even his wife.

Cornelia is here, but even she and Tohdoh can't break through the Neo Britannia barrier en masse. Best they can do is procure Knightmares and other arms to the still disparate resistance groups.

htf did Norland get away with a Damocles in Hokkaido?

Quick! hide your tables!
Anime-Oppenheimer presents an invention to the rebels, one that cancels out the power of her most infamous creation.

The newly formed alliance will have to use it sooner than intended as the Neo-Britannians purposely let some rebels get away to justify a massacre.

This episode hit me with tons of nostalgia. Lelouch and CC at the start of it was pretty exciting, then they gave us Cornelia and Nina too! I'm pretty happy with these developments.

The scene with Lelouch and CC kind of felt like the show writers telling us that Lelouch and CC aren't going to be important in this and we should stop waiting for them. Still happy they were included though.
Yay Nina. I like Nina. She has a good character arc. Seeing Cornelia again was nice too.
Damocles being here is absurd. I was willing to forgive all the other bizarre elements so far, but unless there is a good explanation for this the plot has lost me.
Is Ashe the boy in the photos with the red haired woman (Narah)?
The political maneuvering this episode was pretty boring and so simple it wasn't really worth showing.
Haruka getting the Ace Unit wasn't built up enough to really have any sort of impact. I know nothing about her or her skills.

Looks like things will heat up next episode.

Those god awful cuts show up again in this episode. Why do they think it's ok to cut characters and scenes off mid sentence?

I didn't forgive Nina then and I haven't forgiven her now. I like that the writers appreciated a lot of people will never be ok when she is on screen ever again. As far as a FLEIJA Eliminator that a non plot armored character can actually use goes, it's still a useless weapon. That guy made a great point. Everyone in Gundam SEED isn't Kira Yamato.

Which means being an ace doesn't mean your can shoot down a nuke. Suzaku and Kallen aren't characters that easily be replicated. Plus even with plot armor, those two failed plenty of times. I can't lie, I would be pretty happy to see them fail again. Suzaku's whole FLEIJA deal from the 2nd season was a high point for the show as a whole.

As far as the Damocles, I get people feel that it is a rehash, but it also was a weapon that took the might of Lelouch AND Suzaku to take down. As far as threats go, it was the biggest one the show ever had. I do think it's lame that somehow the new kids on the block somehow find a way to surpass their elders, but there is a small chance they do something interesting with this premise.

These Brittanian CLAMP designs are still asscheeks. Those new japanese characters as well. I hope Code Geass are saving their cool looking characters for the next anime.

4 episodes in, my biggest issue is I still don't care about any of these characters. Not even the comically evil ones that are acting like a certain country in the news right now. There isn't even a Tamaki level character here so far and that is atrocious.

LULU AND CC!!!!

I honestly don't even think this series would have to be good for me to love it. I'm just enjoying the Code Geass vibe being back and pretty much anything made by Sunrise. I got way too excited over a 10 second scene between Lelouch and CC.

I actually do quite like Sakuya and Ash so far. The other characters haven't done much but I'm still enjoying them. Brutal that the child emperor got killed so early.

Cornelia!!!!

Seeing C2 & L2 planning chess moves again is nice. And callbacks to older characters are also there in this episode. I like 3rd & 4th ep more than 1st and 2nd.

Now this feels like Code Geass

Waaaait a second! Lelouche is still alive and looking like a teen! AND Cornelia!

They're falling on a double edged sword. A trap, but if they don't go innocents will die.

It’s sad that R3 and Akito didn’t do well. Now Sunrise is retreading what worked for them so hard they’re even reusing the Damocles out of fear.

I still can't get over the scale of this series. From fighting an empire that rule a third of the world to, an "empire" that rule one whole island, and they somehow always got enough resource to either refresh their Knightmare and other military capability, and getting enough men to pilot and develop those Knightmare. But if I keep asking like this, I'm just gonna spam the entire future discussion with this kind of stuff so I think I should stop. Still a negative point for me though.

I love Lelouch, and Roze/Sakuya isn't charismatic enough to replace him (I don't think anyone else will tbh), but man I hate this kind of cameo and how much it remind me on how I hate it at Akito as well for not being able to fully construct a side story without the shadow of the main story. Oh yeah, will still watch this series, at least the animation is good and colorful.

"But you aren't planning on getting further involved, correct?"
"In the end, we exist outside the natural order of the world."

C.C: i.e. This is all the screen time we're gonna get isn't it?
L.L: Yep. We gave the fans what they've been waiting for. Now let's leave before this turns into a complete trainwreck. I mean, so the new characters can have the spotlight.
*walks off together in sync*

Although I wonder what Lelouch thinks of all that's happened? His death that united the nations, brought peace, and stopped the discrimination of the Japanese. And now, was his sacrifice all for naught...?
Maybe that's why he bestowed a Geass unto Sakuya?
A good author leaves the audience enough material to be satisfied with, yet yearning for more.

Starting the episode with Lelouch and CC stating they won't get involved further which I like. Was good to see the two again.

More old faces like Cornelia and Nina appeared with Nina being the creator of damocles and now wanting to destroy it looking at the consequences. I have a feeling there's a mole among the two factions that joined them. But for now no time to worry about that as they already have to take on the damocles. No surprise on Haruka being the ace pilot. Btw I quite like the red hair girl from the neo britannia side, Narah. She looks quite charming. Might have some history with Ash too it seems. May join the good side at some point?
