The worst possible timing. Notice how I said "analogue"- this is "the fireworks" in a cruel world of SpyFam. |

| What a BEAUTIFUL chapter, continuing the story between Martha and Henry. There were gorgeous character profile pop outs, tea tables being tragically abandoned with not a single sip of tea being had in sight, and the tragic demise of Martha's ballet dream and Henry's cousin being lost to war. I admire this series for being able to harpoon the tragedies of war in a way that articulates itself to be digested and understood by readers of all ages and groups, despite it being a 'mostly' light hearted series. A most beautiful chapter indeed. |

This chapter, like the last one, was painful.
Still, it is interesting how they keep on portraying the characters in such a heartbreaking situation in a realistic way.
The teach holding to his ideals as a lifeline is something I can imagine scholars did during wartime.

She lives and returns.
But their love is unrealized to the present time.
Or maybe you mean once the flashback is done and we return to the present?

| @Puntosmx Unrealized is sufficient. Even if the romance between Martha and Henry left many readers hanging, I am still fine with that. The important feeling is this: being baffled by Tatsuya Endo's writing skills from comedy to tragedy (after 100 chapters or so, though). I just can't put my words properly right now. Why can't the series continue on being a tragedy? Oh wait, it can't....because comedy sells...and Anya sells...and without Anya, we won't even have a comedy gold adorable series such as this... 😒 It would be nice if Spy x Family transforms into a tragic series as we go towards the middle portion or ending portion of the series. But, in reality, the author is just delaying because the comedy aspect of Spy x Family sells. And, if the series doesn't have comedy, who would even buy the Japanese comic series? We need comedy nowadays. But, the Martha and Henry backstory is soooo eloquent and poetic and parallel to real life events in our world. I can't help but love Spy x Family series even more due to the flashbacks of supporting characters like Martha and Henry! 😖 |

| Among all it's hillarious comedy, this is one of the few times the manga reminds me it's more than capable of writing tragic, thought-provking war dramas. And they did not just ruin Martha's confession with some air raid! No way! |
 I love me a girl in uniform. This backstory is hurting me more than it has any right to. So this is what Endou truly wanted to write about that his editors don't allow him to. This is better than some of Yor and Anya's antics for sure but not all of it you know. I like the mix of love and war. |

SpyFam has been dealing with this tragedy undertone since chapter 1.
Loyd's introduction is tragedy.
Yor's childhood was tragedy. Even if it came with lots of comedy.
Anya's backstory is tragedy.
Even Bond's origins are tragedy.
I understand your point.
But I like how the story keeps both generes present all the time.

There has to be a balance between serious undertones and comic relief. This is what Spy x Family does best to the anime / manga community. 😁 |
