A pretty chill episode and it's nice to see Chise and Elias working together again. Even out there on the field, Elias still offers his words and wisdom to Chise.

Really hope Chise learned more from Elias..about Halloween, lore, and those around her. Everyday, she is still growing up in this show.

I must say, a nice change of pace, Chise not getting constantly hunted by some dark entity or getting cursed, in a forest, dragged through mud, not gonna last for long i presume.

Chise is also making some new acquaintances with the students, but with some, she is unable. Also, i may have forgotten, but i legit thought that Alice is like much older to be in college, i guess the long hair confused me.

The little story about the old gods was kinda sad. And just as Stella came to visit, shit goes south ...

Rian's guardian Tory finding him taking to Chise about imparting her magic onto him, and the same question brought onto Alice, the reason for him is to become his protector. While Renfred gruels Elias in front of Narcisse, both Chise and Elias earned their welcome from him, hoping that their time in the Magic College would be substantial. And it's not just the principal keeping her eyes on both Clise and Elias, so too is the College's vice president Gregory. The first meal with the new class and classmates altogether, it looks nice, but while there're outliers like Lucy, it's the 4-girl clique of Veronica, April and May Atwood and  Philomena always together.

Zoe Ivy sensing something amiss about some spirits lurking within the Magic College, and the realization of Elias being a Pilum Muralis, the mystery is always illusive about him. That said, it's cute that Chise is giving Elias a full lie-down back on her lap, while Silver harvests some pumpkins for Halloween, on what was once a revered festival that's downsized to mere human activities. Stella coming to find Chise, though it becomes apparent that someone is lurking behind the scenes and is ready to strike with the fog.

The ominous feeling continues...

I remember the woman who was shown this episode at 14:43 being Lindel's and Elias' teacher and that she was living where Chise was transported at the end here. But Elias is really old, time travelling? Or it's just that mages' lifespans are that long.

The ominous feeling around the season continues to linger, even as Chise goes through her mundane school life, where she got to meet some new faces, who are all intrigued by her and Elias in some capacity. The characters that stood out were Zoe Ivy, who seemed to be quite worried about something surrounding spirits and the College, Lucy, who was all alone, as usual, and Philomela, who looked completely disconnected from the rest of her so-called friend group. We got some lore around Halloween and how that functioned in the past as an event, which was quite interesting. The cliffhanger at the end where Chise got lost in the fog makes the feeling of mystery feel that much more stronger. The show is building up to something, but I wonder what that is.

Still a very impressive season so far with breathtaking visuals and enough intrigue that even the more chill episodes can be quite solid. Looking forward to more!

It's been a long time since I've watched the previous season. What question does Joseph expect Chise to answer?

The slice of life episodes are really nice. Sometimes you forget how young Chise is with everything she’s been through and it’s good to see her make friends. But you can’t really shake that eerie feeling that’s hanging over the school. Just feels like something bad is about to happen.

The Joseph situation took me by surprise. Been so long since s1 I forgot about him lol. So he’s living at the well on their property. I don’t recall what question he asked chise tho?

I liked the calm atmosphere of the episode as we see more of Chise's daily school life and I'm glad she's making some friends. Unfortunately things got ominous at the end with that cliffhanger.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

I thought Joseph was like sealed away or some shit at the end of the first season but that didn't seem like it was all in her head. Idk I can't fully remember the details or his eye whatever else happened with him.

There is something not right with these students, atleast with a few of them. And to be brutally honest, those hairstyles just making it worse lol.

Things were going a tad too peacefully for the most part of the episode, and yeah we know that's not how things work in this series, so thus that cliffhanger. Wonder where Chise and Ruth ended up?

I love this arc of the manga, it's like playing a game of werewolf/mafia/mungus and trying to figure out who is and isn't sus while every single one of them does their absolute best to be as suspicious as possible. It's like playing the game with the absolute trolliest group of friends lol

Overall pretty chill and enjoyable, at least insofar as the world Chise and Elias inhabits can be with all the people around them having their own prejudices, motivations, and machinations. At least Chise has some solid support to rely on as she works out what she wants to do and grows bit by bit... that lap pillow scene with the entire crew gathering was just wholesome.

I do like the chill feeling that this episode gave off, as not only do we see some familiar faces like Joseph and Stella appearing again, but also with Chise settling in more at college and how kind of her classmates to invite her and Elias to join them for lunch in the cafeteria.

Still, despite that, you can't help but feel that something is going on that gives off a worrisome feeling that you shouldn't ignore. One of the students, Zoe, looked particularly unsettled whereas Lucy is still on her own, thinking that it's inevitable that something will happen that'll shake things up.

Not only that, but Chise and Ruth properly vanished as they were walking with Stella towards Elias' home. It's a nice cliffhanger to end this episode and to hype up the next one. =)

Surprised Joseph was up and about. I know he was sleeping at their house in the bedroom I wish I had and Chise was taking care of him. We know from last season he would woke up every so often because Chise would refill his water jug. However, I thought he would be staying only in his room, did not expect him to just come casually walking out for a chit chat.

really awkward episode, everyone's acting all cryptic and not a lot of answers...just a lot of teasing and confusion. not a bad episode per se, but definitely a little frustrating and then that cliffhanger at the end.

ngl i have no idea what the "question" joseph is referring to could be. it's still nice to see that he's doing ok now. that whole last part of the whole episode where they're just hanging out at home is just so warm and soft

I’m a little confused as to why at the end of the episode they were back at home?  Aren’t they supposed to be staying at the university?  It's been like one day… right?  Did I miss something?

I just realized that Chise's hair is already long. She looks beautiful with her hair down :) I love that scene where Chise is relaxing with Elias~

The flower twins (Violet & Jasmine) looked like fun and full of excitement, as well as the girl with glasses who admired Elias ;D while on the other hand, the green-haired guy and Veronica looked suspicious. I hope no one is crazy enough to try to hurt Chise or try to mess with Elias.

Poor Ainz getting dragged off by Renfred and scolded lol. Well, at least he’s making friends at school just like Chise. Although it seems not everything is as it appears. Lots of suspicious people wandering these halls and everyone seems to have an agenda.

Chise’s really getting along with everyone, except Lucy and Zoey. I guess Zoey could “see” what Elias and Chise are. It was nice to see Elias and Chise have a quiet moment to themselves. Big guy almost never gets a chance to rest. I’ve heard about the origins of Halloween but A turnip lantern is something I’ve never heard of. Sounds kinda neat.

I almost forgot about that creep “Joseph” lurking about. Just when Chise was gonna catch up with Stella, she gets spirited away somewhere. I wonder what’s up?

That was a little sudden to go from the college back to the house. Did they say a whole year had past at the college already or did I mishear?

And Joesph....ugh why is he still alive?

What does it mean to smell like rust as a magician? By rust, do they mean the smell of blood?
Interesting trivia about Halloween. And wow, turnip as a Jack o Lantern looks kinda freaky.
I envy Joseph. He doesn't need to eat or poop. I've always found those things inconvenient and disgusting. God, I hate being human!
