| Seriously guys, Leomon was powering up his attack for ten seconds. You had TEN WHOLE SECONDS to run and find cover! Isn't that part of how you defeat your opponent? Evading their attacks, figuring out their capabilities, and then using that knowledge when going in for the kill? Okay, I gotta ask: WHO is it in these isekai worlds who goes "hey guys, children from ANOTHER WORLD are going to come and defeat evil and save ours?" HOW do they come across this information? The story of the show is interesting but the actual pacing and presentation of the story beats is pretty bad. What do you mean by "I will work hard", Mimi? You don't do any fighting at all. The only thing you do is run up to possessed Digimon and hold up your Digivice. That's it. That doesn't require any skill or hard work at all. Only thing it requires is courage. Why isn't Jou and Gomamon hanging on to Birdramon along with Sora? Flying if 10x faster than Ikkakumon's swimming speed. Oh jeez, NOW Devimon decides to actually do something. He could've taken out the kids at any point within the last 4 episodes if he had just used all of the Black Gears at once and went after one child at a time as they were spread out on the islands. There is no way the kids would've survived. Well if Digimon just turn into eggs when they die, then it doesn't seem like there is any consequence for being "killed" in battle. So basically the only actual stakes are the death of the children before they return to their world... which, ofcourse, will never happen. There are no stakes. So... what's their MO? What is the objective of evil? To take over the Digital World by stuffing Black Gears into every Digimon? |
| Fundamentally, this is a great episode, but there are a few things that ruin the impact. 1) Spoilers. 2) This taking place right after the last episode. We JUST saw that digimon are reborn into digieggs and now they want to kill off Angemon and expect us to be sad? We already learned that Patamon can come back so why should anyone feel sad? Heck, Takeru should only feel a bit sad since he knows Patamon is waiting for him. It'd been better if that the Village of Beginnings happened after this along with Gennai. Takeru's episode could have just been set-up (with Patamon's development) that happened in this episode along with the foreshadowing. Then this episode would be the Angemon reveal/death and heading to the Village to get his digiegg and learn about them with Gennai at the end. 3) The Leomon fight is shoddy. Leomon is supposed to be awesome, right? Because he's hilariously pathetic like Orgemon. 4) For the love of everything holy, RUN TAKERU. Goodness, twice he doesn't bother to move. That said, Devimon laughing to his death is the best way to introduce the 1st death in the season. And the feathers... perfect touch to the end. The timeline is a bit confusing, but I think that the last 4 episodes are taking place around the same time: the night of them being split to the end of the next day. So, Devimon couldn't pick them off one by one (he did kinda try though with Leomon and Orgemon and black gears), but he definitely should have went after Takeru from the start since he knew about Angemon. It was arrogant of him not to do anything beyond "stopping" Patamon from evolving (somehow) and instead sending out the duo alone again when they've failed every other time. | Leomon. Fox Fire! Yamato and Garurumon. Taichi and Greymon. The gears entered Leomon. He got bigger. Chiku chiku bang bang! Togemon. Koushiro, Mimi, and Kabuterimon. Leomon getting facial'd. Leomon back to normal. Ogremon turned into gears to power Devimon. Sora and Jo are still coming. Holy shit! Devimon grew. Harpoon Vulcan. Sora and Jo are here. Dat theme. Group shinka. Dat heaven's knuckle was epic. Funny that a machine would be there right after they defeat Devimon. So now that we've seen all the shinka scenes, Palmon has the longest "shinka" yell followed by Piyomon. Mod Edit: Removed baiting. |

| poor Leomon getting controlled so many times. and finally he turns into ally. Patamon finally evolves .. into adult angel form o_O looks so different from other digimon but RIP.. after using power one time, it turns back into an egg D: |

| Legendary. Patamon got me emotional before he evolved, desperate to save Takeru. Heaven's Knuckle was godlike, literally. |
