Hey, just wanted to say that I've been reading all of your takes in the Digimon Adventure forum and agreeing with basically everything you say. Great minds think alike I suppose ;D
I'm assuming you check your email before you check here, but thought I'd check in here just in case. :3 Hope you're feeling alright! And you have lots of exciting news to catch up on. ;D
Wasn't shading your age! :O I just figured your memories of the dub were rustier than mine due to you being a sub purist. :3 I wasn't saying Shigeru's voice didn't sound boyish - just that I could tell it was a female seiyuu doing a boy voice rather than a male one. That they do! Unfortunately. xD;
Thank you! I'm honestly not sure how I feel about Journeys overall yet. My interest and enjoyment of it varies by week.
(You are? :O And here I thought we were communicating via ouija board. :P Jk! xD)
That you do. xD (And now it's only 5 episodes left~ *0*)
It's exactly like that. ^^; I'm going to start calling it that as well! o3o I feel "fully waking up" tends to bite me in the butt though. Like I would've had more time to watch anime/game/proofread subs had I actually gotten up then instead of wasting an hour or two in bed. xD;
Easy mistake to make. xD (Funnily enough, SatoJun HAS done a Pretty Cure too - he directed Hugtto! Precure o3o) I'm honestly shocked it's in your plan to watch list. O_O; Doesn't seem like the kind of anime you'd watch. xDD
5 episodes into Waccha PriMagi! now! Not sure what I think yet since we're STILL in the character introduction stage. (with two introductions left .__.') I do know how paranormal this series is caught me off guard, and the lack of explanation for it makes me wonder if the whole franchise is just...like...this... I'm also hoping they don't have a musical number in every episode because that'll get old fast. (especially with how much the song quality varies xD)
(It sounds really put on in an obnoxious way xD) It's done for the same reason Japan has been shifting towards a kiddified style: it saves time and money, and makes it easier for artists of various skill levels to be able to do the work. Fair enough. I find how much it bothers me depends on the show: Some cartoons use the style in a lazy way while others make an effort to make it look the best it can. I do! To follow all the animators and drag queens I'm a fan of. xDDD
...I haven't checked either. xD; Pretty much. Companies don't like spending money so they manage the risk by playing it safe. What exactly are people talking about when they say Western creators aren't creative anymore? Like if it's about mainstream movies or video games, I agree. But I'd disagree when it comes to animation.
Thank you! ^-^ I can't think of anything worth sharing off the top of my head, but it's something I'll keep in mind. :3C
Or a creator's love for their work. xDD (My only gaming as of late has been Duel Links...and occasionally Great Ace Attorney. ^^; )
Anime seems more sensible in that regard, but I get the frustration with it being misleading. (I was SO disappointed game! Contests were nothing like the anime's >o<) I don't get why they don't design every Pokemon to be usable in some way. D:< Not having to do it until later on isn't as bad, but yeah. Too much work for me. xD I'm ok with being the simple trainer who only teaches his Pokemon attack commands and spams them until the opponents mons faint. xDDD
Twitter is regret in website form. xDDD I hear foreign countries have been dunking on us for centuries. Can't say I blame them, tbh. (At least French is cool to learn! XD)
You ended up being right. xD I recently put the Shaman King reboot on hold due to my issues with it. X3 Yeah, DVD/Blu-Ray listings are typically how we find out episode count. (and in the case of adapting an already finished manga, how long the reboot will last) Thanks. X3 *hugs back*
Having a brand and staying consistent with it isn't a bad thing. ;D
Reboots are bumping up series on my priority level. xD But after reading the Mew Mew manga, I'm not sure how excited I am for the reboot? The original anime adapted the entire thing, and skewed fairly close to the manga. Unless the reboot decides to adapt A La Mode (the unadapted sequel), I'm not sure what the reboot will give us aside from a shorter version of the series with modern animation. I kind of wish we had just gotten an Au Lait adaptation instead. It's a spin-off focused on an all male cast of mahou shonens that tells a new story that has callbacks to the original while still doing things differently.
As for Rave Master, it's fun? I hear it really picks up later on, but I haven't gotten to that point yet. I'm surprised it hasn't gotten a reboot yet. 2021 is the 20th anniversary of the original series, and the original anime didn't even adapt half of the series.
Same. Though my excuse is the sugar helps me think. xDDD
*notices a sign saying "You must be THIS poor to be a part of Team Satoshi* No wonder. xD
I'm not a fan of the trend either. It's lazy. And it never even dawned on me how it's like they're trying to replace the old with the new. D:< Possibly? No Hiroshi cameo yet. xP I'm still hoping for a Yamato and Kosaburo cameo. xD (But since they last appeared in DP, chances are slim x3)
I've heard a bit of Goh's dub voice but that's about it. That's possible about Satoshi! I've heard a common issue with both official AND fansubs is sometimes they focus more on translating the words they're saying than how they're said. Which results in nuances like a character being unusually rude or polite being lost. Snark and sassy is 4Kids specialty. xD
His movie designs tend to be nicer than the series designs. xD I'm not sure I'd like the gloves as much if they were red. (Might depend on the shade?) The green gloves match the green straps of his backpack, and the cool color palette he has going on from the neck down. LOL. It's actually more of a money and time saving measure. :P
Trying to wipe my memory like the Men in Black? ;P
Me getting stuck made Ultra S&M sound MORE appealing to you?! xDDD
Yeah, the paired heroes tend to be more likeable than the super special awesome third heroes. I also like how it gives us two perspectives to bounce between vs one character hogging all the spotlight. I think B2W2 being more like the paired game arcs helps in that regard. That is what he seemed to do with S&M and Ultra S&M. Though it doesn't look like he'll have to worry about a third game in Sword and Shield's case.
Probably the audience renewing? Suits tend to pay close attention to the demos in the ratings. (like part of why Sailor Moon SuperS is so kiddified is due to suits noticing S was more popular with older audiences =o=)
...Sad but true. ^^; When did Naruto get bland for you? For me, it wasn't until Shippuden. And yeah, I'm glad I'm no longer watching the Boruto anime. I just keep up with the manga instead.
I've never understood the appeal of CGI. :X I do prefer 2D animation with the occasional bit of CGI to full CGI anime like Beastars, but ideally I'd rather something that's just full 2D.
I have faith in Ikuhara-sama. *3* Speaking of Penguindrum, Japan has been building up hype for the new movies by releasing an episode of the series on Youtube every Wednesday. Sadly it's not subbed, but I've been doing my own rewatch at the same pace via the fansubs. I've been pleasantly surprised. It's one of those series I'm enjoying more on a rewatch than I did in my initial watch. o3o
You're drawn to flawed media like a fly is to honey, huh? xDDD Whoops, didn't mean to mix up PokeSpe canon and game canon. ^^; That's a fair point about the changes to Kanto in GSC being fairly surface level. But I think more time would need to pass for there to be any major differences. Fortunately Nintendo's is starting to crack after the whole 64 emulation scandal. >:D I've always been the kind of fan that focuses on a particular series or creator than the company behind them.
(Grandmas can be GILFS too! :P You might be onto something. o: I recently saw an article about elderly porn being on the rise in Japan. xDDD Yeah, I feel Shudo had plans for the dad plotline that were sadly never full realized...) True! But given how bland Kenji was, I'm kind of glad we didn't get more people like him. xDD Satoshi I understand, but it is surprising in Shigeru's case since he seems to have quite the family legacy. Alola in the Found Family trope in action. xD Damn! I stayed on Serebii until...2012 or so? Never really got into LJ. I had an account on it but could never figure out how to use it. xDD; I remember I checked Serebii out like 5 years ago and it was pretty barren.
(That's cool too! Though I do think Naruto hits a certain way when you're the same age the characters are~ Neat! :3 Oh yeah, I forgot I caught YYH on tv one summer during break from Elementary. But I only saw through the Dark Tournament arc. (I think the show changed timeslots after that or something?) Probably for the best since you prefer Naruto subbed anyway. :D That's definitely special. Though a show like One Piece getting you into pirating might have been more appropriate :P)
Yeah, Henry got a funny look on his face every time he began to slide. xDD
Sevens OST was ok? Had a handful of tracks I liked but not as many as I'm used to for a Yugioh OST. I think it's due to it being such a comedy heavy show that most of the music is just goofy or slice-of-life-esque.
Might not have been fansub level good, but Crunchy's subs were better than Troll!ei's for sure.(And better than Viz's, tbh) Probably not. I imagine Viz just asked if they could "touch them up a little". But Troll!ei's subs seem to have improved? I haven't minded Ghost Game's too much so far. (though Gammamon's "You have bad vibes!" catchphrase gives me meme flashbacks xDDD)
What did you think of the anime original arc that wrapped up season 1? Galen did share a scene of Ciel's opposite poking out a lady's eyeball at least. xD Pretty much. Might help if I actually bothered to read the manga on a monthly basis, lol.
Editors typically decide what to cut based on the target audience. Adult series get away with anything, teen series get away with most things, and kid series...barely get away with anything.
It was! I'm also a Kylie Minogue fan, so I'm especially sad a video mixing her and Sailor Moon is gone. ;w; I HATE how ad-filled Youtube is nowadays. Thank the goddess for uBlock origin. xD
3 worked for me while I was still in school. But I'm not sure if that would still work for me now. xD;;
Oof. xDD It *was* working for me. Turns out I can maintain a routine, but once I fall out it's hard to re-establish. =o= LOL, my bed time tends to vary too. I also have trouble getting out of bed as soon as I get up? (unless I'm forced to)
Agreed. The bigger they are, the more corrupt they seem to become.
You familiar with the Pretty Rhythm franchise? I'm not, but Junichi Sato is about to change that. xD He's one of my favorite directors, and he's directing the upcoming Waccha PriMagi! series. o3o
I think we're already off to a good start getting experience with proofreading and timing. ^o^ Thank you. ;D Same here. xD; I find routine helps a lot. Like proofreading 2 a day feels like less of a chore when it becomes a habit. :3
Exactly. D: I hear companies tend to "change direction" every 8-14 months as well, which frequently results in loss of jobs.

I'd be ok with that! o3o Ideally, I'd like to have Shouta Aoi's range: https://twitter.com/KaelanRamos/status/1384296360208261127
He can not only voice women, but various kinds as well! *o*
