THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Not what I was expecting. I really don't remember this part in the manga as well as others but I think it was a good adaptation of what happened in the manga.

Next episode should be a good one. Can't wait for next week!

That was a good episoed :) Finally Kagome let out her true feelings

The preview to the next episode looks sad :( I actually think Kikyo's a pretty cool character when she isn't being mean :P
Guess should've known Kikyo wouldn't last forever due to the fact that she is already dead. Rest in peace (That is if she does die, but the preview seemed to give spoilers for that assumption)

Did anyone find how casually Shippo hanging on Kouga's shoulder as if he were there all along a bit weird? :p

And the fact that the "illusionary" priestess said everything Kagome has hidden from herself, she still denied it. I don't think Kagome is being honest, she should've said she was jealous and envious, but out of some respect she wouldn't hurt Kikyo because of it. Not hide behind the fact that because she's "spent time with Inuyasha" makes them even, because in her heart I think she knows it really doesn't make them even close to being equal rivals for Inuyasha's affections. Sometimes I feel like Kagome's the meddling one, because atleast Kikyo is honest about it.

It feels a bit weird that the pace in kanketsu-hen is so much quicker than in the good-old Inuyasha. it's a good thing in some aspects (it's dumb to use like 3 episodes on one fight), but time to time i feel like things are just developing too fast. I don't have the time to think about anything happening.

It's still a good adaption. I just hope they would use a bit more time with some parts.

It's good to see that the pace is slowing down with each episode and it's getting to an okay pace,I haven't read manga so I don't know how much of story there still is but I hope that it will finish well.
Opinion about the episode: Wasn't a bad episode at all, cleared Kagome's feelings and as I remember,It's the first time Inuyasha left Kikyo and actually went to Kagome.I wonder where Sesshomaru took Kohaku o.o.And It's nice to see how Sesshomaru is getting A BIT nicer but I like him either way,he still doesn't talk tho :P
Apparantly Kimi to Boku will always be my last-anime-watched, until you check my profile :3~

Of course Kagome was being honest.
Rumiko Takahashi made her say that,
so obviously its true.
Kagome always says what she thinks,
so Kagome was being honest.
She isnt pretending to feel pity.
DOnt thnk that.

And he has left Kikyo many times LordKail like in the episode when she tried to drag him to hell he immediately went to Kagome when she cried for him.

Kagome is developing, I see it.
More mature now.
Most definately.

And Kikyous death is coming up.

This is the first episode that I felt like I was able to compare to the last season. I feel like this episode would have taken 10 episodes in the first series, and yet they do it all in one episode here. It wasn't bad, but like the rest of this series' episodes it feels like it's just going through the motions to get to the end. Not enough time is spent on characters and their issues.

And next week... One of the best fight in Inuyasha's. The best part...

I can't wait. But I think at nine... "parting thoughts".

I definitely see what you're saying, and I would have much preferred this final season to be longer than 26 episodes, however with what we've got I'm not complaining.

The pacing was fast and sporadic at first, but I feel with every new episode they're slowing things down. If they have the time limit of 26 episodes I certainly can't blame them for having to rush through some of the minor plot nuances in order to leave room for the big stuff coming ahead.

I felt that the pacing of this episode was fine in all honesty, but I can easily see others being irked with it. As for myself, I'm personally enjoying this finale immensely and I'm really looking forward to the big arcs that are coming up in the near future. I think they'll do a good job animating those important chapters and that's what matters the most for me.

While the episode was good and all, wow did they ever burn past a lot of stuff that was in the manga. Didn't show Miroku and Sango's fight or anything. No wonder it's only 26 episodes long.

Really happy with how they adapted that particular part in the manga into the anime - where Kagome goes up Mt. Kazusa. It was at this part in the manga and in the few parts before it that I started to not hate Kikyo so much...

As always, I'm disappointed that there was some stuff they skipped, though it is inevitable...

I didn't feel like this was actually fast, I thought the pace was fine. I loved this part of the manga and completely forgot about it, so I'm very excited to see how it goes! I think things are starting to slow down and I'm glad they're not cutting from scene to scene and missing out on the little jokes or moments like they did before in the previous episodes.

Anyway, looove Inuyasha, Kagome, and Kikyouuu<3

People who are complaining about the pace of the show need to stfu. Please, go suffer through the first Inuyasha show again and then come back if you still think that it needs to go slower.

I've said this before about Inuyasha in general: there are too many instances of "the enemy" running away. They show up to deliver some lame-ass lines, like "Ohoho, so you've finally made it here. Well done." or "You've walked into my trap, just as expected", a few blows are exchanged (teehee, blows) and then they run away via special mode of transportation - a huge magic feather, an origami bird, or just some random "magic bubble". Shit sucks. It's a lame cop out.

I really liked this episode, I lol'd when Jaken got bit by the snake but was so calm when asking for help.

I think that Kagome is definetley more kind hearted than the average person, I personally don't know what I would have done. Though I admire the fact that Kagome wants to help Kikyo. Partially because she wants Inuyasha to be happy, and partially because she just can't live with the burden of knowing it's her fault if Kikyo had died.

This episode was pretty important, mostly because we can kind of get a better sense of what Kagome is really feeling. We know she's jealous, but that as much as she tries, she can't hate Kikyo. I find that a bit Marysue-ish, but I like it. Not many people would be willing to do what Kagome did if they were in her place. Great episode.

It's about time Kagome told Kikyo off. Too bad it wasn't really Kikyo. I'm getting a little tired of the on-going competition between those two. Kikyo needs to just completely let go...she's a corpse, and I doubt that Inuyasha is into necrophilia.

I think Inuyasha is really into necrophilia. specially because he gave a huge french kiss to Kikyo

True love doesnt care about such...details. Even if she was a walking skeleton he would still love her. And man, when i die, i SWEAR i wanna be a corpse like Kikyo. That means ill be a fucking powerful and beautiful corpse.

God Bless Kikyo!

Kagome is Kikyo in the future
Kikyo/KagomexInuyasha ftw XD

Whoever Inuyasha choose, it's okay!
But still, I feel so sad about Inuyasha and Kikyo's cruel fate....
If only Naraku didn't separate them....
But there will be no Inuyasha series if Naraku didn't do that, lol

Great episode! ^^

Maybe it's because Kagome is Kikyo's reincarnation so only her powers can save her.

Kikyo managed to save Miroku's life at the cost of her life force. Even though Kikyo may have acted like a jerk in the beginning episodes, she's come a long way.

I still can't believe Kikyo is that much of a threat to Naraku that he took his heart back and created these weird spider web thingies.

I hate how Kagome always has to go through a test to save Kikyo. Maybe these tests are a way to help Kagome grow and focus her spiritual energies. If I look at them that way I don't hate the tests as much.

Has anyone else noticed that Naraku wears purple eye shadow? I keep imagining him putting on his eye shadow in Kanna's mirror every morning...xD Maybe THAT'S why he's kept Kanna around so long. He needs her mirror to put on his eye shadow. =3

I found it a bit weird that Kagome denied what imagery Kikyo said since it's suppose to be from her heart. She should be accepting it (her true feelings), but then realize there's more to her than that.Aside from that, Kagome finally lets out her thoughts instead of moping around.

Though seriously, Kagome does end up saving Kikyo all the time. I can understand why since they have similar powers/incarnation and whatnot, but it does feel like its glorifying Kagome. What is this... the 3rd time now?

Pacing is getting really good. I can't help but compare to the horrible episode 1. This pacing is good and closer to what the original Inuyasha would do great with.

One thing disappointing about Final Act so far, however, is the lack of Feudal Japan horror. There were so many humans killed in the original anime, seems like this is all about the main character relationships and battles so far.

Now that Naraku have figured out Kiyko's plan, Naraku will use the negative feelings against Kiyko. This was a great episode for Kagome to confront her feelings against the illusionary Kiyko there. I love how she always stay true to who she is and be transparent about it. The delivery from Kagome is really well done and felt really genuine.
* There is tiny bit that cut but most of them still the same and after rewatch Kagome's part still tugs my heart strings damn.

Kagome finally lets out her true feelings. Although I enjoyed it at first, Kagome holding ill will towards Kikyo and Inuyasha because of their past relationship quickly became one of my least favorite parts of the show. Glad that it's finally coming to an end.

Another one of these love triangle episodes where Naraku tries to exploit these tensions and Kagome's heart is tested. A recurring theme throughout the series. Although it presents a reasonable conflict, I think it's overdone at this point because Kikyo seemed like she had already moved on, with her only concern being Naraku. This should be the last time this happens though.

The next episode should be good, but the preview revealed a little too much lmao
