I assume you gave it less than a score of 8 because everything on your completed list has a score of at least that number? What were some things that were lacking or some of the stuff you didn't like?

Akame ga Kill is amazing, I took an instant liking to it. And I've heard Tokyo Ghoul was good but I haven't given it a try yet.. maybe I will soon. As for manga I really need to catch up on Nanatsu no Taizai (I recommend giving it a try) and I want to start the Magi manga from where the anime left off. And then there's Bleach and Attack on Titan...
And now I've added four more Fairy Tail spin offs to my list lol

I'm waiting for the older One Piece episodes to be added onto Crunchyroll before I continue. And I just recently started watching Naruto Ship. again :)
