when i watched my otome it reminded me of simoun in that both rely heavily on young girls to do the fighting

Both main girls are cold with a sad past, but they are they are being kind toward the main guy.

Both are about a school where young girls are sent where they are trained to be weapons. They all belong to different nations and will eventually be sent back to their homelands to serve as weapons for the royalty.

They both share the same element, atmosphere, and other similiarity.

Lots of striking parallels where you can tell Mai-Otome was heavily inspired by Glass no Kamen. There's plenty of differences to enjoy as well, and they're both great series so give either one a go if you haven't already.

watching Aria reminds of Mai-Otome same for reaching dreams that you really want, having friends that always at your side and the teacher/group/company are similar both are fun to watch and both have same ending :) if you watched both you will know (: ----> watch all the series to see ^^

If you enjoy magical girl in action without the typical romance like cliches, then both of these series are a must-see for you. There is tons of action and not to mention the epic soundtrack for both series. The comedy, drama, and later emotional theme of both of these anime(s) are something many anime fans will sure not to forget.

Powers Art looks alike Some of the same characters Saving the world kind of story

Symphogear G is very similar to Mai Otome as both series have girls using the power of technology in order to fight evil. In Symphogear G the power comes from signing and old artifacts while in Mai Otome from a special substance that is injected in your body on the condition that you are a woman. Either way both anime are bassed on the mecha/technology elements in order to acquire power and fight.

THE RelationSHIP between Fan Fan, Fam and Turan, Millia il Velch Cutrettola is a lot like Arika and Mashiro's,the same way Mashiro's wont to be come a grate queen ,Turan, Millia il Velch Cutrettola wont to be come a grate leader and rebuild her country all the same ,they do use Robe's but they use ships as both storys go on you'll see how a like they are

Both shows feature a group of girls enrolled in a special academy in order to learn special skills needed for some higher goal

Both have humans with superpowers brought about by advanced/ancient technology. Main characters must put in there greatest efforts to fend off the forces of evil that would try to destroy their town/country. Main characters face off against their best friend/rival who aid those evil forces.

High school girls piloting dangerous space craft/mecha. The two main characters are quite similar too.

Since I saw Mai-HiME had already been added as a recommendation I thought I should add this one too, considering it's the closest thing to a sequel Mai-HiME has. In fact I would say that that Mai-Otome bears a closer resemblance to Toaru Kagaku no Railgun then Mai-HiME. Either way both are a good idea to watch if you enjoyed Toaru Kagaku no Railgun.

Arika and Nina have the same type of relationship with Kagura and Yomi respectively. First friends, then enemies. Both animes have the same amount of bad assery, comedy, and wonderful art. The fighting scenes are both commendable and gets you pumped up!

Honestly the main characters are so alike to me it screams Nadja to me. They are both searching for their mothers and both have jewelry as their only connection to them. They both put on performances *lol*. They both have this amazing carefree attitude from living in the country and then being dumped into the city. They both were born of high status an didn't know it. Watch it and you'll see! There are even more similarities.

The main characters are what call out to me. Ahiru and Akira are one of a kind. They are both looking for their past in a setting where most anything can happen and they want to protect whole heartedly the things they love. Both of them are in schools to become talented performers. Both the school's objectives are to make the students strong and beautiful -- of course in a ballet school like princess tutu the purpose is to be a great dancer and in mai otome it is to become a warrior. Also they have magic necklaces that help them transform into superheros to  read more

Judging from the first episode, Sekirei is similar to Mai-Otome in that there are the girls (otome) who gets a master when they become miesters, just like when they "get their wings" in sekirei.

Girls fighting of the forces of evil while still at school. Though not in massive mecha.

Maidens with uniforms. Both main characters find their dream during the time when they were in life-danger. Surrounded by close friends. they try to achieve their goal of becoming a 'Meister'. Both animes take place in an allternate universe somewhere in the future, where the things we know 'today' are forgotten relics of the past.

Both are about girls who fly with special equipment. Both have them attacking monsters. There is less fanservice in Mai Otome but it's definitely still there.

The yuri-licious possibilities* of the master/servant relationship Dragons have to their (usually) same-sex Masters may make Dragonaut ~ The Resonance appealing to Mai-Otome fans who enjoy slashing Meisters and the person they've contracted with. (Or Meisters and Meisters, for that matter.) Compelling cast and story; lots of fanservice, but more subtle and less distracting than, say, Godannar. * For the same reason, may also appeal to yaoi fans, with the bonus that character designer Makoto Uno mostly succeeds in making the male characters as sexy as their female counterparts. There's something for everyone here. :D

Their both have super powerfull girls that fight for their dreams. They both have a lot of romance and good friends. And their hot!!!

Both animes have a fighting girl vs. girl background But in Kampfer just generally more hilarious and in Mai Otome more serious, and in Mai Otome you need a "master" who can activate your materialize suit.
