amazing female lead that kicks everything but that she fights. they both also have a talking electronic friend. they both also have an episodic playing style. if you like the third you will love kino's journey.

Both series follow female protagonists who struggle to free humanity from the shackles of their mysterious and more advanced overseers. Honoka from The Third is definitely more self-sufficient, whereas Scrapped Princess's Pacifica is more your typical damsel in distress. Both shows are quite underrated in my opinion, and feature good character development and a fantastic, colorful setting.

The anime both dealt with supernatural occurrences and the question of humanity in this world. With an atmosphere of sadness, sorrow, and happiness. Containing both drama, romance, and a bit of comedy to enrich the quality of both anime. This Ugly Yet Beautiful World and The Third is definitely two anime to watch if you like one of them.

Ergo Proxy has the same roaming feel that Third does. Although Ergo Proxy is a lot darker, by the end of the anime you feel the same, you don't want it to end, but want to continue on with the journey that the characters are continuing. There is more in depth exploration of the psyche in Ergo Proxy, but overall they have the same feel.

The way the main characters travel to different places and solve problems for other people, the desert setting during their travels, the slightly nostalgic feeling sometimes, and the music is very similar

Out of all the anime recommended, I would have to say that The Third: Aoi Hitomi no Shoujo is the closest thing to Seirei no Moribito. Tales told of legendary female warriors who uses their power to protect rather than to kill. Though they may possess great strength, they choose to walk the path of a trivial life. Living each day knowing that the blissful life they have now are thanks to the sacrifices of those who had protected them. As they continue their journey about their daily lives, a spark of chance change their path in life to realize the truth behind the world around  read more

Both anime dealt with two enemy groups of humanoids and how the conflicts that exist between them could mean the end of the world. The character of the story is also set up to be the same. A strong woman who have a strange encounter with a mysterious man. In the end, the true identity of the man she met is revealed which will decide the fate of the world... the end, or the beginning.

Eden's Boy and The Third both tell sci-fi adventure stories from multiple perspectives, involve powerful organizations and have comedy and drama interwoven into the narrative. Also, both are unconventional in their own way. A fan of The Third would appreciate the similarities between the two, but also might enjoy the more haphazard nature of Eden's Boy.

Both are post apocalyptic road movies/series and have a melancholic, philosophical feeling to it. While the third, the civilization had already more recovered in Amnesia, the collapse is still more recent.

The main characters Yuuichirou in Owari no Seraph and Honoka in The Third are alike. They have similar art style, personality (nice also aggressive), wields a katana, have hidden special powers, and the same sense of protecting their newfound family (group that came together and became family) from any harm.

In both series we have post-apocalyptic world, a main character who values others' life. The plot is similar in various ways

Like Ozuma, this anime is set in the not so distant future where the vegetation on earth has completely disappeared, leaving a sand-filled landscape. The main character, Hitomi, is also a lone traveler who is not necessarily engaged in trade but offers her services up as a mercenary.

Both involve a main female who is a profession of several jobs.

The protagonist is a girl who has trained in martial arts with her father all her life. That's about it for similarities since it's also a slightly ecchi comedy with loli elements, but it's an okay pick for people who like anime with a powerful female fighter and can look past the perverted stuff.

In both shows, the main characters are powerful, non-busty female fighters traveling about barren landscapes. Layla from Avenger is a bit older than the girl in The Third, but there are some similarities in their quiet, intense personalities and graceful fighting styles.

Thirsty for post apacalypic stories where your a young sword dancer living in a dessert waste land where your being overunned by alien spider? or how about a story where young last surviving human girl wakes up from a cold sleep 30 years later in a futuristic city where her best friends are robots and androids which focuses on courage, survival and friendship? than Kurogane communication is for you if you liked The Third: the girl with the blue eye

Both anime feature main character who travels a lot and who meets outworldly being (a goddess in one case and an alien in another). In both cases they are asked to be a guide, showing and expleining the world to their new companions.

Both have young main characters with younger apprentices, both are placed in postapocalyptic world, both have forbidden technology that has been forgotten over the year, although Desert Punk is exquisite and The third is just good.

The main similarity between these two animes is that symbolism is very strong in both. They both also take place in post-apocalyptic worlds but whereas "Gilgamesh" is very dark and cynical from beginning to end, "The Third" is lighter and carries great messages of hope.

Both series are about a tomboy-ish girl who has to go on a seemingly endless and dangerous journey in order to earn money and live. Also, both of the main girls have a younger girl that they try and protect at all costs.
