These shows have such a similar mood, that if you enjoyed one, you're very, very likely to also enjoy the other! * Post-Apocalyptic World; * Adults keep a group of school children isolated from the rest of the world; * The children Disappear/ Die/ Get Sick for mysterious reasons; * "Fiends" and "Hiruko" are very similar monster concepts, but saying why is spoiler-ish. * None of the main characters are straight! * Other certain similarities that are too spoilery to describe, but that are very fun to compare!

Only Thing that ties these two is the main cast is being hunted by the grotesque monsters

Both animes have premises regarding a isolated place from the world that have been lost due a catastrophic event for, potentially, all humanity. A wall was built to keep kids "safe" from the outside world. "Alienation" and "survival" are common themes in both animes.

Post apocalyptic mystery and over sheltered youth coming of age.

both play in an apocalypses-like setting where the MC have to survive

- A pair of young adults/teens(?) have to go around killing vicious supernatural monsters for their survival - The main characters possess “unusual” abilities even amongst those doing the same work - Great fight scenes and an unfolding mystery

both mc's fight monsters that eat people and not to mention there's a secret behind these monsters.

Both are based on slice of life in a post apocalyptic world. Both have a dark undertone but there is no forced drama. The characters make an effort not to die of hunger or misery but they do not constantly lament their situation, they have grown up in that world and they face it the best they can. Both have a component that is transparent to the characters but not the viewer, they grew up in that world and do not understand the reason for many things or what the pre-apocalyptic organization was like. It brings an interesting philosophical nuance to the viewer about what we live  read more

Both series pulls you in with their mystery and a little bit of action, led by interesting duo who works together with great chemistry. Although the setting are different, with Tengoku Daimakyou sets in a post-apocalyptic world, and Summertime Render sets in a small island - both settings give that tranquil vibe, coupled by the mystery that gives somekind of uneasy feeling that are reminiscent of each other. I think the mystery alone gives the other a worthy show to try if you like the other.

Both anime are about a group of characters exploring a post-apocalyptic world. In Coppelion it's high school girls who are in search of survivors, in Tengoku Daimakyou it's two characters in search of things that are meaningful to them specifically. The two anime are quite similar in many ways -- characters exploring destroyed ruins of society, engaging with (sometimes hostile) survivors, a mix of action and drama, and a general mission to tie the series together. Tengoku Daimakyou is darker than Coppelion, but if you liked one and want more, then you should check out the other.

They have very similar vibes They are both about two people who roam a deserted land They kind of follow the same formula, like monster of the week+ an overarching plot

Both are thrilling anime involving mysteries, the supernatural and a romance between the two primary characters. Also both need more episodes ya know

- Protagonist(s) trying to survive in a world full of dangers. - Character(s) travel visiting different settlements each with an unique history. - The traveler(s) are mainly impartial observers who try to keep distance from the places they're passing through and avoid becoming too attached, leaving to continue their journey as soon as they can, although they do get involved in trouble a lot and the series mainly focuses on them witnessing events that occur where they pass by.

These two Tv shows are apocalyptic seinan scifis, that takes place in tokyo, both revolving around strange anomalies with a mystery element to them. and They feature similar but beautiful and highly detailed art styles and the main character have similar designs.

Both of these are Tv series that takes place in a very scifi post apocalyptic world with a lot of strange occurrences such as animals getting cursed in some way. Both also similar styles and have some comedic moments, is just that one is CDGCT and the other isn't.

They are both shows that have you going back and realising details you shrugged off on your first time watching through. They both also had me overcome with emotion and yelling at my screen at certain points.

- About life in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi society that has been largely reduced to scavenging. - Focus on interpersonal relationships and futuristic culture. - Monsters and the mystery of where they came from. - Hi-tech beam weapons.
report Recommended by kanata44
- Dystopian future in which human society has collapsed. - Characters travel from settlement to settlement. - Uncovering the mystery of the collapse is a plot point.

A Girl meets a mysterious supernatural boy (especially they both have same hair colors and style) in a dystopian supernatural world. Together, they embark on a adventure for answers that would either satisfy them or the opposite.

Both have supernatural monsters and duo protagonists (one badass female w/ similar personalities and one male).

Both shows are very similar in storytelling styles as they tell two stories at once. Midway between the show, it becomes clear that they are not happening simultaneously, and that the connections will make more sense as the show progresses.

Same concept of - man eating monsters/ part monster part human - what it means to be human - question of coexistence with a dangerous non-human species - supernatural powers Different: Tengoku has more travellling/adventure, Heion Sedai more focus on superpower/fighting/opposing factions

similar vibes of the mc and side characters and both take place in a somewhat post-apocalyptic setting. They just feel really similar in terms of writing, if you like one you're probably also gonna like the other

Both shows are stories-in-progress. One is about heaven-that-is-hell, the other is hell-that-is-heaven.

Both take place in post-apocalyptic futures, characters go on a journey across the desolated world to find something.

Both anime will get very creepy with the monsters, mystery, and dystopic future. Both anime share a similar DNA in regards to art style and narrative. Yet, after finishing both anime, I'm still confused. After a while, I don't remember what I saw. Psychological anime can be really disturbing. In both anime, we have kids in labs that are 'bakemono,' very similar to those in Akira. If you wanted something that is reminiscent of Akira, this anime is for you.
