KiKi's Delivery Service is a fantastic coming of age story that is full of whimsical fun, drama, a little romance, and enjoyment for a large audience. Flying witch takes a much more relaxed approach being slice of life with some added comedic relief. These shows focus on witches who are becoming adults and being sent off by their family to experience adulthood with their companion black cat. If you enjoyed watching Kiki's Delivery Service I would recommend trying Flying Witch to experience a similar story line and similar atmosphere in each show respectfully.

Both of these movies have magical themes. Kiki's Delivery Service is slower progressing and dragged a bit in the middle of the movie and Spirited Away is more fast-paced. Kiki's Delivery Service is more basic but they are by the same director and are both very fun to watch.

The influence of Studio Gibli works particularly "Kiki's Delivery Service" on "Mary and the Witch's Flower" is quite evident, yet the latter is not a Studio Gibli piece, but the movie has it's own twists one won't find in a Studio Gibli work.

The main protagonists share a similar goal of utilizing their magic to help people, yet the manner in which one becomes a full fledged witch differs between the two.

If you liked the overall feel of Whisper of The Heart, then you will defiantly like Kiki's Delivery Service. Both are Ghibli movies(although Whisper of the Heart isn't directed by Miyazaki), about a girl on a journey to find her place in the world, be who she wants to be, and find love(more so in Whisper of the Heart). Both are in a relaxing setting, where nothing moves too fast or too slow, and both have great themes of life(growing up, being yourself, love, dreams, etc).Shizuku and Kiki are both similar in personality. Both are movies that will leave an impact on you of some sort, and  read more

Both movies are from studio ghibli and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Similarly, both stories follow a young girl on her journey. Both movies have beautiful scenery and lovable characters! I think you'll like one if you like the other ^^.

Both of the main protagonists enjoy helping others out, yet things don't always go their way and chaos ensues. This leads to some good laughs.

Both anime's are about a young witch who leaves there home and goes out on a Adventure, on this Adventure the Witch meets new friends and find's out more about the world.

Both are centered around a female protagonist on a mystical adventure. They also share similar characteristics in their humor, style, and overall outlook on life.

Both films consist of magical girls as protagonists Both films have magical elements Both films have that slice of life feeling

Both contain themes of coming of age, accepting yourself for who you are, and what your place in world is.

Both are directed by Hayao Miyazaki and from Studio Ghibli. Lovable characters and great art. A girl chasing her dreams, with lots of adventure! If you like one, you'll definitely like the other.

Both are made by Studio Ghibli and share the same fantasy elements which make Ghibli movies so great. If you liked Arrietty, chances are high you will like Kiki

- Both are about maturing and independence - A girl protagonist that struggles with her everyday life - A cat as the girl's companion - Emotional - Beautiful scenery and music

Both movies deal with both a very realistic side, namely the school and home sides of the characters, while they have a fantasy side to it. Namely Time-Traveling and Witches. They both deal with similar problems the girls are going through and how they solve them.

Childhood is a time of magic and imagination, but the lives of the two main protagonists - while magical - are definitely not a figment of their imagination. The two main protagonists are also strong female protagonists facing life and growing up. The tone for both series is often light hearted, rarely if ever straying from this, but both are considered by quite a few beloved classics.

Both movies carry similar themes (a girl on her own for the first time and learning to believe in yourself). They also both have a charming, relaxing, and innocent feeling to them. If you like one you're sure to like the other!
report Recommended by Whimsical
Both are about little girls getting involved with various quirky characters in an european-style setting. Both girls are also idealistic females, and finally Hayao Miyazaki took participation in both productions. However AnSH lack of KDS's magical elements.

Coming-of-age story with a young female protagonist who gets swept up with magical experiences and has a humorous feline companion. Also, two of the best-suited animes for children

Feline friend. Kiki's Delivery Service and She and Her Cat don't have much in common apart from a nice cat and person relationship. Delivery Service is casual with this and stereotypical with Kiki being a witch, suiting a cat as a friend. She and Her Cat is more romantic with the relationship. Both are good anime, with She and Her Cat being a shorter OVA than the movie Delivery Service.

Valediction. Princess Mononoke and Kiki's Delivery Service both have the same opening of an individual of a family being told to go on their way to better themselves. Princess Mononoke has Ashitaka say farewell to his village after an attack causes harm to his body. Deliver Service has Kiki say farewell in hopes to become a better witch. Both are great anime movies with Princess Mononoke being much more brutal than Delivery Service. Both are made by the same studio being Studio Ghibli and have the same director Miyazaki Hayao. Memorable OST and pleasing visuals too.

Soft cozy fantasy with more of an emphasis on navigating business concerns such as client relations and networking.

Similar tone and overall aesthetic, with characters that find themselves in an unknown world, and learn how to live in a new community. A lot of care was put into constructing a very lived-in and detailed world, with good backgrounds and animation, besides some some very well developed characters,

Dedication. Kiki's Delivery Service and Shigofumi both follow delivery people who have a fine dedication in completing the work they have been set with. Delivery Service has a witch, Kiki, delivering items in order to better herself in becoming a witch. Shigofumi follows a stern Fumika and delivers the letters from the dead, the shigofumi. With Delivery Service being a nice s.o.l family movie, Shigofumi is a dark anime with multiple psychological elements.

Determination. Violet Evergarden and Kiki's Delivery Service both follow individuals who uphold a great determination to complete the jobs they have been assigned with. VE follows Violet and her time in the Auto Memory Doll service, Deliver Service follows Kiki and her deliveries as a witch. They both also have the same character development with plenty of faults here and there when actively working, only to learn from their mistakes with the people around them Both are good anime with VE being a well-animated drama, Delivery Service being a well made classical animation.

It's an amazing anime, if you like studio ghibli movies, you would love "Dahufa" too. It's unique in it's own way. Dahufa is just like ghibli who create imaginary races, characters & create a wonderful story around them.

Slice of life of magical young girls, focused on their first work esperiences. The magical girls have to help and to do services for the normal human people, in order to get their own independence.
report Recommended by Disillusion
Both are an optimistic story about a magical girl in a friendly town setting, ultimately both are about humbly servicing others (delivery buisness in Kiki, Happyness Shop in Mint) believing in yourself, the people around you, and trying to be the best person one can be.

To comfort. Natsunagu! and Kiki's Delivery Service both feature individuals from afar being comforted by a goodwill stranger into their homes. Although the stories do not align, with Natsunagu being about Natsuna finding an online friend, and Delivery Service about Kiki's training as a witch. They are both good stories with wholesome elements here and there. Natsunagu is a TV short in comparison to Delivery Service being a movie.

Both movies of LWA have a basic thing in common with Kiki's Delivery Service: rather than focusing on hot witches or mahou shoujo-type magical girls, they feature witches of a more classic feel (e.g brooms, etc..). Both movies will warm the viewer's heart, and the adorable protagonist will be there to save the day! A must for lovers of magical/supernatural anime with sublime artstyle and a nostalgic feel.

Even though Majo No Takkyuubin is more of a slice of life and Zero No Tsukaima is more action and adventure oriented, both are fantasy anime with lots of magic and witches mixup, technically Zero No Tsukaima is an isekai about a guy ending up in the foreign land, while the other one is about a witch trying to fit in a conventional place, the roles are inversed, but they have mostly the same vibes. Did I mention there's witches?

The use of flying sequences and european-inspired cities give these two a very similar vibe, especially since this is one of the few pokemon movies to downplay the battles.

Both very uplifting films with beautiful animation and a wonderful story.

Both are about witches, one set in our world, the other where a girl travels to another. It is about finding out who one is.

Both the movie Kiki's Delivery Service and the series of Sakurasou were enjoyable, their plots follow characters that have so far lived lives of normal circumstances until they ignite their inner potential to become something greater, watching their happy and sad moments kept me interested throughtout KDS: individual, brand new environment, faith in one's efforts even if it's not all perfect Pet Girl: group of friends, house of fun memories, high school relateable with all the romance drama and social problems

Kiki is more fast paced with more action, but both have young female protagonists on an adventure to try and find themselves. Both are calm slice of life anime to unwind. Also, animation for the win!

Ojamajo Doremi(translation: meddlesome/mischieveous witches) is a series full of bold witches apprentices bringing magic to a nonmagical world, like Kiki, only this time you get to learn so much more about the culture of witches, their long eccentric lives and their successful and sometimes less so attempts at coexisting with ordinary humans. It is one of my favourite series, definitely the coziest most emotionally complex magical girl series, even considering the characters young age.

Both are about determined females involved with magic and have talking cats for sidekicks. Kiki's delivery service is more light hearted, but both do have humor as well.

Although there a some big differenz between this both, for example one of them is a movie and the other one are more episodes. I think that both have somehow a touch of the feeling to adventure something new and find little things that can be interesting. They both develop with the time, learn much about all what they see and experience some wunderful situations. Also I've got those innocent child-life-feeling by both animes what I so appreciate. By the way, some magic is found in both and both have cats who takes a part in the story.
