Magic. Howl's Moving Castle and Kiki's Delivery Service both feature wizards/witches in their stories.
With Delivery Service shining them in good light, in how helpful they are, Moving Castle does it in a darker light, saying true to stereotypical witches in stories. Although there are some good magic users to counteract.
Both are good anime family movies made by Studio Ghibli and directed by Miyazaki Hayao.
