Akudama Drive is a dystopian cyberpunk world with fun characters and good action similar to Edgerunners, but just don't expect the same level of emotional draw and quality as Edgerunners.

Very similliar in a lot of ways but here a few Depending on your perception the antagonist may differ. Bunch of bad guy working against the governement. MC having alignments development Gore animation from both dark setting Shorter story for Akudama Drive

both have a cyberpunk-like atmosphere with cops/executioners abusing power being a large focus. The difference is that Psycho-Pass is less dystopian and is from the cop's perspective whereas Akudama Drive is all from the "bad guys" perspective.

Similar character designs, Similarly brutal death scenes. If you liked one, Odds are you'll like the other too.

The main characters in both are very similar since in Juuni Taisen, they are all mercenaries while in Akudama Drive, they are criminals, aka akudamas. The two show a group of individuals that work for their own personal gain.

both are tarantino inspired stories with a dark world and criminal cast as well too and lots of action.

What do they have in common? First, which side is the good one and which one is the actual bad one? You don't really know in any of these two. You just know you kind of like both sides even if you don't know which is the "right one". Characters are amazing and charismatic, most likely you will like all or most of them. Cool fights and some blood here and there.

Both are cyberpunk themed stories that focus around criminals having to do jobs or else face execution.

Both shows take place in a "wack" version of a metropolitan city, with an incredibly vibrant color palate. They both have amazing looking fight scenes, and swanky OSTs reminiscent of the jazz/funk vibes not often seen in anime.

Criminal with powerful abilities doing an important job

both are dark themed action stories as well as lots of suspense and nice art and character designs to look at.

If you like story, action and heisting, I would recommend Cowboy Bebop. In my opinion, Cowboy Bebop is very similar to Akudama drive due to the sole reason that they both have similar style of story line, it is not necessarily linear, but close.

Similar concept. Love both universes.

Both are about a future city and it seems all other cities are gone. Both are about corupt/insane police controlling the city.

both are Sci-fi and Action Anime

Both have similar vibe, amazing character designs, spectacular animation and banger of a soundtrack.

vivy plot is better, but that's doesn't mean akudama plot is bad, the action, graphic is so satisfying

Both are cyberpunk-y, and both are from the same creator

Great action and animation. The main characters like cutting heads off and love fighting. Both sides are seen as dangerous people in their respective worlds.

Both series have nameless characters which eventually use their occupation or roles to be referred to. In spite of being set in a very different era & world, Akudama Drive sets the path of some Akudama who mean well, but are willing to kill those who get in their way of their mission/job. Just like the titular character Goblin Slayer for he kills goblins for the sake of saving humanity, Akudama Drive's Swindler kills whoever harms and exploits the Siblings for selfish trivial reasons. Bonus surprise is that one of the Akudama named Courier and Goblin Slayer are voiced by the same Japanese VA.

These two anime both tell the story of prisoners who are forced to work together on missions.

Both are dark and have the same kind of vibe.

Both anime are about a group of "bad people" trying to fulfill their assigned task. Akudama Drive has a much darker story with badass criminals, while the assassins from Akuma no Riddle are so unprofessional and generic that I thought I was just watching a light-hearted comedy instead of serious battle royale.

Both these shows offer a unique take on societal dilemmas. Their societies are extremely different from our own, as they're from each other. Short, fast-paced. Colorful art. Badass characters. I normally watch sub, but these two have exceptional dubs, too.

Both anime's have a group or gang consists of criminals. Jojo Part 5: they are fighting bunch of criminal stand users so that they can reach their goal to defeat the boss of the mafia. Akudama drive: They are criminals that are grouped by a kid that wishes to get out of the kanto region, so he hires all the best akudama's in the region.

Both Anime are made by Studio Pierrot (respectively Pierrot+) and have quite a similar artsytle. If you watched the show for that reason you should give Akudama Drive a try, besides the rest is definitely superior to Gunjou no Magmell.

Akudama Drive is not as similar in setting to IWGP buy AD has a lot of fights (well choreographed), interesting characters, and has a linear plot.

both are set in futuristic dystopian worlds. They are action heavy shows that make use of retro aesthetics and neon colors

Action-adventure series that analyze the flaws in toxic systems. Both have prison breaks. The main characters are rebels. Great animation and music. Recommended for cultured people.

Now it's no surprise that the similarities are due to that they are from the same studio, just decades apart. While Key the Metal Idol is present day Akudama Drive is full cyberpunk. However both have similar themes with robots and "evil organizations". I'm homing to see more original anime like these in the future.

While Akudama Drive held onto a more lighthearted rebelling kind of vibe at the beginning of the animation, but as the animation progressed it begins to build up a more serious atmosphere, shown through the various scenes of loss and death as they reveal more and more revolting truths as the animation progresses. In both animations, it depicts the desperateness of the characters living with awkward identities, experience through various hardships and explores subjects like "a place of belonging" as they struggle to survive in their separate difficult situations battling life and death. If you are seeking for an animation to watch with a rather  read more

A dark world, cool music and cool fight scenes, a game-like setting where your life is at stake. Both series are fast paced and make you think more and more about moral questions as the story progresses.

if you have watched Akudama drive after consuming one piece it is very easy to see that the show takes massive influence form one piece.

Both the main girl in the anime accidentally teamed up with the strong guys or group! Noragami: The Main Character joins a god to help her revert her back to a human again. Akudama Drive: The Main Character forced to do a heist just to save herself from the killers.

- Both anime have a boring protagonist which becomes badass in the end - both have amazing side characters - both have very urban setting

1. Colorful 2. Action 3. Goofy in a way 4. Only exception is akudama has a better start then jojo

Both anime has survival vibes! Made in Abyss: Surviving the abyss by descending to it! Akudama Drive: Surviving the whole police Pursuit in order to finish the task that was given to them!
