With Akudama Drive's growing fame (which I'm glad about), I think Danganronpa is fairly neglected. Danganronpa is a game-based series produced by Spike Chunsoft, whose employees also collaborated with Studio Pierrot in the original series, Akudama Drive. Apart from the similar character designs, Akudama Drive is full with Monokuma references which is a pure delight to spot and is possible only if you've seen Danganronpa. The watch order seems pretty messed up but don't let it stop you! The brutal yet iconic death scenes sometimes leave the watcher in a wtf state, while at other times, it's nothing but satisfaction. Akudama Drive is basically Danganronpa if it were a cyberpunk heist instead of a murder school. Same vibe and character designs.
