Survival game (of sort). A lot of references to Mirai Nikki (OP, ED, some plot elements). Clever and somewhat sociopathic main female heroine (Yuno is definitely many notches higher though). Initially weak willed MC, growing stronger as the plot proceeds. Mature themes in both animes. Teenage issues.

Similar things: -Main protagonist in Gleipnir is noob, same as in Darwins Game, so he team up with a girl called Claire Aoki. -Same as Shuka in Darwins Game, Claire Aoki is crazy and psycho. -There are teams in both anime fighting each other -Awesome soundtracks and animation in both anime. Overall both anime are very similar. The main difference is that Gleipnir have way more ecchi moments than Darwins Game.

The main characters of both series are very similar. Both heroes have similar names (Shinichi and Shuichi), lose the need to use glasses, and start off as shy nerds and turn into cold fighters. Both series also deal with an alien race coming to Earth and affecting the lives of the characters when they come into contact with humans, although in Gleipnir they are mostly in the form of inanimate objects.

In the both anime, main boys and main girls drive a powerful vehicle from themselves as one body.

Meak male mc and crazy main female character work together to fight to the death multiple times in bloody battles. They both have plenty fan service, but the story's taken way less seriously in killing bites compared to gleipnir.

Dorohedoro and Gleinpir both follow protagonists who gain this weird feature about themselves that they wish to know more about. Dorohedoro follows a powerful Kaiman and his mission is to find out who changed his head into a lizard, as well as the dude who is literally inside him. However, Gleinpir is slightly different, with Shuuichi being feeble, being controlled by Claire who has a leader mindset, being used to her will in this survival game they play. Both are good anime with Dorohedoro being crazy and unpredictable, unlike Gleinpir containing bits of ecchi and supernatural.

Both feature characters who are able to control/turn into weird looking monsters and a curious girl willing to become a co-pilot of said monster.

Both are set in same natural environment and have fights for survival there.

At their core, both are about unravelling the mystery centered around their lost memories while bearing a unique power available to a rare few around them.

Different plot and setting, however it has the same elements of violence, gore and monster fights, especially a horny MC and a dominant waifu heroine. Very underrated.

Honestly Beastars is very rare, in terms of category and plot/settings. as far as plot it leads a amazing one, having you asking questions since the first episode quite literally, and having said questions get slowly answered, and I would say Gleipnir is the same way. Gleipnir also leaves you with a mystery to solve, aka the mysterious dude/alien giving out powers at the beginning of the anime, and even though they haven't fully answered everything, it still leads you on for a ride of suspense and excitement, the only real disappointing thing about Gleipnir is there is still no confirmed season 2 so  read more

In Ajin, the existence of these “inhuman” people is common knowledge but the monsters of Gleipnir are but a secret to everyone except the parties involved. However, both Ajin and Gleipnir feature main characters whose lives are inadvertently changed because of a strange property present in their bodies. Their situations are both showing the perspective of a high schooler with a promising future having to deal with the violent consequences of being inhuman.

Similarities 1. In both anime they have some supernatural power give to them by mysterious entity 2. Both have goal of surviving against each other in a death game 3. Both have lots of gore and thriller and have to use there brain to survive Differences 1. in gleipnir the people are still in society but in here they are forced to go against there will

Death game, or some may call it battle royale, is the main plot point of these two show. Each characters are forced to join and are given unique superpowers to help their journey. These show are also has a duo of male and female main character, with one "aggressive" personality.

They have very interesting proposals, although Tsugumomo has comedy the 2 has some cool battles with very centralized scenes, a very good Staff of studios that are always giving better to bring great works I will also come to read the manga because the manga is very good and the protagonists are even interesting and have some good characters

Both are about supernatural entities and have a similar dynamic between the main character's memory and the plot of the show. Additionally, they have similar stylistic design in their characters. Summertime render is better tho.

Both series are ecchi genre though Plunderer has misrepresented/misused fanservice and it's not actual ecchi content; Gleipnir is. The mystery of both series can be intriguing for the male protagonist in both series are mysterious with one of them having amnesia and one of them hiding too many secrets though personality-wise is badly-written. Both series feature deuteragonist, mainly the main heroine. Only difference is that Gleipnir has a smart, deceitful and cunning girl. Plunderer unfortunately has its main heroine continuously being careless, oblivious, and too trusting on any stranger's words. But if you're in need of a mystery past to solve, both series should do you a favour  read more

When I first saw the cover, it really reminded me of Dangaronpa. The mood is even similar. If you like your thriller type anime, it’s one for you! But might I ask to check out the games as well, because it’s much better too!

Both mc's are nerdy anti-social high school students being provoked by a girl.

in both anime people are forced to play mind games and if you like one you might like the other

Both are terrific dark fantasy/horror anime about monsters who have to fight and kill in order to survive and have a place in their worlds. They both feature monsters that are still quite human and behave accordingly who are able to feel remorse, sadness, loneliness they even cry and are afraid of "dying"(loseing their current selves). The contrasting dark and colorful art works perfectly with both stories, the characters and the tones that they set make both anime masterpieces. Thanks for reading, -Tooru25

The premise is similar, aliens give you superpowers, Get 100 points or coins to get strong powers and you are given objectives to do. Both shows have gore and ecchi.

Vore and aliens. Also, unique character design.

Crazy powers that feel a bit off, overall theme that is on the borderline of too-out-there / poorly executed but the unpredictability that results is part of the enjoyment. Insane female side kick(s). Def felt very similar vibes.

Shocking I didn't see this rec'd. To me, Gleipnir felt like a show that was made because of the success of Re:Zero. A sprawling odd plot that is more interested in adding mysteries than solving any. Female cast members have more power, more agency and often more brains than our male MC. A lot of psychologically dark material. Re:Zero is dialed to 11 while Gleipnir is sitting at a comfortable 7 or 8 on the psycho scale but they certainly share similar dna.

Both anime are kind of about a game for survival where you have to kill to survive

The protagonists face off against an enemy whom they share a history with them and has a similar ability. Along the way in both shows, the protagonists make allies and try to reach their main objective/foil the enemy's plan. With a similar darker/serious tone and a presentation plot that slowly unveils more about the origins as the story progresses.

Both feature MCs struggling with the morals of hurting others to protect their friends and those close to them, and coming to terms with the fact that they are monsters and can no longer fit into regular society. Whilst there are differences in the details, the general emotional and mental journey the MCs take are very similar, although I believe Tokyo Ghoul does it a decent bit better.

The feeble and the insane. Deadman Wonderland and Gleipnir both use characters with personalities of feeble ones and insane ones teaming up to survival wicked games. Deadman Wonderland has Ganta and Shiro. Gleipnir has Shuuichi and Claire. Ganta acts as the leader between his pair due to Shiro following him around, however, in Gleipnir a much more dominant Claire controls the pair. Both are good supernatural anime with Deadman Wonderland being for sci-fi horror tastes, Gleipnir being for more ecchi tastes.

I wanted to rec something that gets the dark fantasy, strange world, vibes /and/ the dark sexuality right, where I thought Gleipnir does a pretty poor job with the latter. Melody of Oblivion does not, still after I can't say how many shows watched one of the most strangely sensual anime I've seen. The shows are similar in that there is a hidden conflict going on in both worlds that only a select few are aware of and participating in. The manifestation of abilities covers a lot of ground in the monsters of both shows.

both series are about a team of people unwillingly playing a deathly battle royale kind of game
