Timid MC's who are bad at talking to others with a dream of making 100 friends in a slice of life school comedy. Both shows contain a classroom with a variety of different personalities and the play on character names linked to their background. Hitoribocchi aims more for a moe appearance whereas Komi-san looks more 'normal' per se and Komi-san has more prevalent male characters compared to. Another difference too is that at the start, Komi is well known by everyone else and fawned upon whereas Bocchi has none of that going for her.

Loner main character gets revenge by making friends and enjoy school youth.

Both series are light-hearted comedies focused on anxiously shy characters who try their best to befriend those around them. Whereas Hitoribocchi focuses on a middle school girl befriending her classmates, Wataten focuses on a college-aged woman hanging out with her little sister's friends.

Both shows are slice-of-life comedies involving a girl with very high social anxiety as the MC. The big difference is that Watamote is much darker as the MC tries so hard to be popular, while Hitoribocchi the MC is only trying to make friends and is looking for ways to avoid social interaction.

Both series begin with the main characters starting their middle school career and wanting to make as many friends as they can; while Bocchi is anxiously shy and makes a few friends over the series, Akebi quickly becomes the idol of her class primarily through her exuberant energy and positive attitude.

Both MCs are tasked with something way too difficult for them but with support of people around they keep on trying. Shows filled with positivity. They make you support (and maybe pity) those girls.

Both shows are centered around a girl who is attempting to get over her social anxiety problems, and are always both filled with cute and funny moments.

in both comic girls and hitoribocchi, the MC suffers from social anxiety and is "forced" to interact with people. Chaos met the rest of the girls through their love for manga and Bocchi had promised her best friend that she'd try to overcome her disorder by making friends at her new school. Both shows are very wholesome.

The protagonists are trying to be better for herself in the place where she should like and both are innocent junior high school girl but the most importantly the series are really entertaining and will make you rolling on the floor laughing XD

Both animes are about a young girl who is shy, trying to make friends in school.

Both series focus on shy, kind-hearted characters starting a new part of their school life (middle/junior high in Bocchi, high school in Slow Start) and learning to improve their social abilities as they make all sorts of new friends.

they are both hilarious, adorable, and so wholesome you'll want to cry.

A cast of four girls just enjoying life, both are very fluffy and funny, though one leans more to comedy (bocchi) and the other leans more to pure slice of life (Non Non Biyori).

Whilst Hitoribocchi isn't romance/couples based comedy like Gamers!, a lot of its strong points are fairly similar. For example, a lot of the laughs are based off of the awkwardness of the main characters interactions and sometimes sheer stupidity in certain situations, and how many situations are blown out of context because of this naivety and misunderstandings, making them both enjoyable watches.

The two animes take place around a shy girl, who spends time with her new friends.

They have similar art style They both have girls that rarely speak both wholesome and cute

Two sweet little series about socially awkward girls slowly learning to make friends and overcome anxiety. Hitoribocchi is full-length and makes this journey the entire subject of the show. Yama no Susume is a short-length series, and uses Aoi rediscovering her love of mountain climbing as the catalyst (and metaphor) for her 'climb' back into socializing with others. If you like one, you'll probably like the other.

Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu is similar to Aiura in character design, their behaviour, and how they feel. Aiura's trio is like Hitoribocchi's main trio and they atr doing same cute funny things. Both series feel wholesome, cute and funny, but Hitoribocchi is on the more wholesome and cute side of the genre and Aiura is more on the funny side of the genre. Also Hitoribocchi is 24 minute per episode, while Aiura have only 5:30 minutes (and 2:55 of them are opening and ending).

Both MCs suffer from extreme social anxiety: they faint when overwhelmed, vomit when nervous, and draw up ridiculously convoluted plans to avoid social contact.
report Recommended by Shiina_M
Both series deal with anxiety issues and poor communication skills on the main protagonists who also overthink too much the situation, expecting the worst case scenario.

There are lot of similarities between them. -Setting in school, the difference is one is middle school and another is high school -Both protagonist are introvert, shy and socially awkward -One of her friend is cool, calm and collected but sometimes tsundere -One of her friend is flamboyant and cheerful character -The 4th is foreigner who later became her friend and share similar appearance as well Last but not least, cute girls doing cute things Both kinda have slice of life vibe, so if you like calm show, then this is one of the right choice for you.

Both of these slice-of-life anime depict the daily lives of the protagonists while they're trying to achieve something: making friends, in the case of Bocchi, and becoming a gyaru in Wakaba's case. Their and their cute friends' antics will sure make you smile. Cuteness is guaranteed!

student without friends finds new comrades with same problem and have fun similar humor and funny situations that heroes falling in same dramatic scenes carryovers to ridiculous

Both shows features a cast with names that are puns that describes their personality or role ("Hitori Bocchi" means "all alone," while "Nozomu Itoshiki" can be read as "despair" when written in a different manner.) Hitoribocchi is a fluffy comedy that stars a shy, socially awkward girl who wants to make friends and overcome her shyness while Sayonara is a dark comedy that stars a pessimistic, suicidal teacher who is fed up with society and likes to rant about everything wrong with it.

They are structurally similar in terms of character interactions and revolves around one character with a particular personality. They are the same type of comedy in general. They're well-crafted in terms of timing.

The dynamic between Bocchi and Nako is very similar to that of Maki and Riko, though Bocchi is anxious around everyone and not just boys. Both take place in middle school and have a lighthearted take on a subject which other series treat with more seriousness (social anxiety and romance, respectively). Art styles are broadly similar.
