Both shows have an emphasis on character and follow a certain protagonist that proceeds to take part in a key role in the grand scheme of things. Natsume Ono wrote both the original texts and has a huge role in the production of each. The two shows focus on atmosphere and setting/scene absorption and emphasize the use of their unique art-styles to stand out from the rest of the crowd. Each show can be seen as incredibly relaxing and rewarding to view.

Both have quiet MCs traveling to different countries/districts of various cultures and political structures.

Both ACCA and Kodo are driven heavily with dialog heavy and has politic as its main premise ACCA doesn't have action in the same way but its still present in some sense. So if you enjoyed the interesting and unique take on politic in this show you'll probably enjoy ACCA as well.

Seinen anime with a cast of interesting adult characters that have similar character designs. Solid plots containing a lot of memorable scenes, while also having some chill moments of characters just talking.

Solving mystery Strong and unique art style Amazing story and pacing

Baccano is similar mysterious. You follow many characters who are somehow connected. Following the characters you will find more about the mysterious story and the final plot that will be presented. The narration is also quite similar.

It’s hard to explain why It’s similar xD but don’t you know how in Hakata tonkotsu ramens they always out smart someone that’s how it is in Acca 13 ( I like animes like these two lol but it’s hard to explain how they’re similar without watching them )

similar character and vibes if you like Acca 13 you will find something interesting here

Both have a similar overall feel, they're pretty chill slice-of-life type shows. The main characters have similar personalities, not easily surpised and almost stoic. The art is also very pleasing in both, with Tanaka using more pastel colors and Acca with vibrant tones. Story-wise, Tanaka isn't centered on one overarching plot like Acca. It's more episodic, focusing on its characters' unique personalities to tell the story.

Both are set in a world of political strife and mystery. The characters are clever and vigilant. The art style is also similar, catering to a more mature audience, and the overall atmosphere surrounding these series is riddled with tension and secrecy.

Acca gives off the same vibes as cowboy bebop from the art style and opening theme song.

Although 'Our last crusade or the end of the new world' tries many different things, including action and romance, one of the biggest take away I have watching it is the plot, the settings and how it's presented, all of which remind me of Acca 13. To be more precise, they're slow paced, they discover new environnments as they go and both protagonists try to attain world peace. I'm not saying that you'll enjoy one if you like the other, so be careful.

what would a story look like without fighting, without drama, just people doing their everyday life? GLT and ACCA are just like that, just the main characters traveling around their won world, experiencing the scenery and atmosphere

Both anime have writers who know how to work in foreshadowing into the plot without making it seem too obvious, and classy clean artstyles, themes of wheels within wheels. Great Pretender has a richer supporting cast while ACCA is more plot-driven. The execution of both shows is unpretentious and just a lot of fun.

Both shows focus on a protagonist who is cool-headed investigator working as part of an organization that tries to maintain some peace and order. Both are keen observers of human nature and have family members they care for, and both (by chance) enjoy smoking tobacco. It's mostly the vibe though as both have a similar smooth-jazz thing going on. They both are relatively mature and realistic in their depictions of people and their motivations and I think people who enjoyed one would enjoy the other, although ACCA is more about intrigue while Onihei has a little more of an action focus.

From the same original author, Natsume Ono. Apart from the story itself, they are totally different genre, although both contain a bit of slice of life in it, I can see them heading totally different direction. However, there is noticeable similarity inside the character design, especially the male character. If you enjoy characters with mysteriousness, 'Ristorante Paradiso' is also going to be an enjoyable romance for you.

Both have similar setting in terms of political drama.

Both shows where the over-arching plot doesn't really matter since there are little to no consequences for them, but regardless the execution and style of the show coupled with the main Character's personality is enjoyable to behold.

While their plot is not similar at all, they are definitely for a similar target audience. Mars Red and ACCA: 13-ku Kansatsu-Ka are both series to appreciate for their vibes. Their alternative animation, the old age themes, their soundtrack, as well as the main characters' behaviours, are all elements that show the audience should not rely on the story, but focus on the artistic side. Whether these anime are likable or not is up to the audience to decide.

- both are about politics and conspiracies - you get to know different fantasy countries with cultural differences - they have a simular dry, serious and intriging feel to it

Like ACCA, Un-Go has that chill, slow-burn type of vibe and interesting world building. Both shows have a futuristic, jazzy feel to them, and they're thoughtful without ever being too heavy. The style of storytelling is very similar, and there's an underlying mystery aspect which helps to set up each's robust universe. They're also both quite short and stylistic.

There's a similar conspiracy element and both have deal with government agencies. They also both have a sort of slow, deliberate pace.

The opposite side of an Inspector but not in a cynical way.. Both aspires crimes into the city.. There are many rules to follow, this more force into drama than dark aspects and cruel side of the laws Jean = Shinya.. also smokes literally

Both series have an infatuation with bread, and said bread contains immense symbolic capital.
report Recommended by somaisbatman
It is about conspiracy in royal families, betrayal and finding out the truth. This special features the master thief Lupin III and the great detective Conan. Both have different intentions but together they discover something that influences many lives and saves a country from despair.

- Both heavily involved with politics that deal with royal families where situations take place over rumors and interpersonally - Unique art style

It is about conspiracy in royal families, betrayal and finding out the truth. Although Lupin is a thief and not a police man he tries to be righteous if he sees someone in danger. This leads him to dangerous places where uncovers truths.

Bread. Besides bread, both shows actually explore a wide range of cultures, customs, and cuisines more or less rooted in reality. The cultures explored in ACCA are more rooted in fantasy, but are influences by real world locales/time periods; whereas Yakitate Japan explore real cuisine but in a simplified and exaggerated way such that it strays into the realms of fantasy. The plot and style and atmosphere are all very different, but everything is linked together by baked goods, both within the story and between the two shows.
