Bizarre surrealism at it's finest. While Inaka Isha features a much darker color palette than Cat Soup, both maintain a similar atmosphere.

Both of them are made by the same studio (Studio DEEN) sou the animation stile is identical. Both of them have weard plot lines.

Same starkness of scene and incredible music in both. If Inaka Isha were Noh, Angel's Egg would be Kabuki produced by Yoshitaka Amano.

Both are short experimental movies. Both are adaptation of famous stories (The Little Match Girl by Hans Christian Anderses/A Country Doctor by Franz Kafka). Both have dementia genre and both are trippy and plot-twisting. Also, both have very similar animation. If you liked one of those or if you´re into experimental works in general, check these out.

Both take look at otherwise fairly well know stories (Village Doctor by Franz Kafka/traditional japanese fairy tales) and remake them into something weird and creepy. Both are dementia and psychological genre.

Inaka Isha and Muybridge no Ito both rely on sketchy, distorted animation and muted colors to tell their surreal stories. Muybridge no Ito can be difficult to follow, with many non-plot segments inserted throughout the movie. Once understood, however, its storyline is simple. Inaka Isha is no less confusing, but is presented in a more traditional fashion. Horses also play a large roll in both.

Both take fairly know story (Jack and the Bean Stalk/Ein Landarzt by Franz Kafka) and remake them into dementia style. Both have similar hand-drawn like animation and both can be a bit trippy but enjoyable.

This is a Kafka adaptation and The Order to Stop Construction is the most kafka-esque anime story I have found so far.

"Aru Tabibito no Nikki" and "Inaka Isha" have a similar visual style and a content that is difficult to understand.

There is a similar feeling to these two anime, but more importantly I think the viewer of one will enjoy the other. Also they are each based off of books, which always makes for interesting cinema - particularly where Japan is concerned. Lastly, the music for each of these in both fitting and chilling.

althought is way weirder they both have the same creepy feeling and art style

Both have a very distinctive, bizarre art style and share a similar atmosphere although I would say Inaka Isha is a bit more bizarre than Hundred Stories.

Both take otherwise fairly well know stories (Village Doctor by Franz Kafka, Fairy Tales by Grimm brothers) and remake them into something weird and creepy. Both are dementia and psychological genre and both have irregular animation.
