I ended up going with Air because the other two were already in my PTW, I thought it was pretty good. I think the thing I enjoyed the most about it was how it started out like a happy slice of life, but became more of a bittersweet drama as the series went on.
Only to remember afterwards that while I used that pictured on a lot of sites (changed now) I never used it on MAL.
Long story short, I approve your use of Neuro. XD
I played most of the Mario Party games, and still the original on the N64 is my favorite. I really liked the music and mini games on that one, it was pretty innovative since there weren't a whole lot of games that dealed in only mini games. Though others had tried in the past. I have been currently enjoying Mario Galaxy 2, the game is so awesome and gives you a lot to do in gameplay. I guess of all the Mario games, I like 3 or World on the SNES, best of all. :)
Sure no problem, there are also many anime titles out there that don't even look like your traditional anime, but they are still very enjoyable. If you are looking for more, let me know, or you can find them on my list. Whichever works for you.
For me, I love it when comedy titles actually realize that they are a show that other people are watching, and not where they are totally unaware that they are being watched. And series that poke fun of themselves...golden for me! I had seen "Detroit Metal City" on MAL some time ago, but didn't watch it because of that fact. Thank you very much for the recommendation though. :)
Thank you very much for the compliments on my list, I happened to find that "Sora no Woto" pic at random, and couldn't help but add it as my background. Well the reason I liked "To Shoot Without Shooting" so much, is because of the way it presented itself. It's a stop motion anime as you can see, and even though its short, it had a really touching storyline and character development. I also liked the artistic way it presented it's story with. The music was also very fitting, calm, soothing and peaceful. I am a sucker for artistic anime.
The way you described "Cromartie High School", kind of reminds me of another series called "Super Gals", and maybe a little "Azumanga Diaoh" thrown in there for good measure. I personally don't mind random anime titles, so long as it has somewhat of a story to follow, even an episodic one. :)
Air TV: Well i tried re-watching it for about 2-3 times. i cant really explain why i didnt like it, the "i wonna see the next ep." feeling just isnt there. i got the same thing with ef-tale of memories. i also get the feeling that its a girl-only-anime (dunno how to say it in another way lol). as i said i cant really explain it in words. its just not feeling right when watching it. as for Durarara i believe i havnt given that a score yet.So far its a great anime :).
I guess i got myself a little wall of text here lol, a first.
Hope that made any sense ;p
Sorry for the weak english~
*edit* just noticed, we only differ(not sure about that word lol)5 days of age ;p
and i only know a little HTML stuff, most i taught myself. got most of my list layout from here ;p http://myanimelist.net/forum/?clubid=19736
One thing about MAL users and their scoring for anime is that they score things they like and not score the things they don't (which is why the avg MAL score is 7.8) Sadly not everyone is like me and are mostly 20 years younger than I am so they just like everything they see. ALSO, its not like i just put random numbers infront of them, I usually ask myself "is anime X better than anime Y?" And that is how they usually go down in the score. So think of my 6's like 8's and my 7's like 9's. I did enjoy them very much so but I enjoyed others more than that one if that makes any sense.
Haruhi no Yuutsu is literally anime title #1 that i completed in my exploration in anime. Its not so much the main character that draws me and MILLIONS others to this show, its the attention to detail and the support cast (Yuki, Mikuru, Kyon's sister, etc) the reason why most people come back for. Haruhi is the founding father of the Tsundere "moe-type" (angry but sweet) and therefore of course will garner alot of fans who enjoy that type. I'm a HUGE fan of the Kuudere type (slient and smart) and Yuki is my favorite anime character of all time. Insanely intelligent (she's a robot), hardly talks, glasses, and is just full of awesome. Whenever she speaks its usually something useful (which is how girls should talk imo j/k ^_^).
But I also mentioned details. Look at all the small details each episode has. The main episode is ep 12 when they sing at the school dance. The finger movements are spot on, drum beats are spot on, the beads of sweat falling off haruhi's face when she's singing the chorus, its what an anime fan dreams of. Any company can make an anime, but its the small details that make a good anime great. And that is what HnY opened my eyes to.
Basilisk was boring for me, slow story progression, and uninspirable characters for me.
Amatsuki was too much bishoujo boys all around. I couldn't handle it after the whole time travelling bit and the pointy nosed tall asians walking around. And the stypid shounen main character usually makes me rage. My mind has only enough room for so many stupid shounen mains. So right now, I only have room for Natsu, Ichigo, Luffy, and Keroro.
And as for Massugu ni Ikou... did you read my review? its the only one. If you like dogs you have to watch it.
Shugo Chara can be cutesy at points..it's one of those animes you watch once and you don't really wanna watch the whole entire thing again, if you know what i mean? after the first time watching it through, you realize you can skip episodes just to see the part of the plot you enjoy. i LOVED the first and second seasons personally, but it has about 120 episodes total and the final season was a real disappointment. -_-
it was nice to see Amu and Ikuto ((the 2 in the profile picture)) interacting, but most people you ask would probably say that Amu&Ikuto are the only reason they wanted to keep watching the anime. hopefully that doesn't completely steer you away from Shugo Chara, but it's one you either love or can't stand--so i'd say to do a "tester" of the first few episodes and see what you think!
--end of ranting--
Spice and Wolf sounds like an interesting anime though :) a lot of dialogue really is a nice thing once in a while--especially if it's a good story line. it's also nice that it seems "different" compared to a lot of anime out there and YAY! for the non-lovey doveyness. it does get a little old after watching romance after romance all the time -_- so thanks for the recommendation :)
let me know what you think of Shugo Chara if you ever start watching it :D
First ima say, I don't mind novel comments, I do them myself unconiously ^_^ I'read em no matter how long they are O_o
Monster!, well the truth is. Around episode 4 or 5 I kinda wasn't really that interested in it. I kinda wanted to put it on hold and finish something else, but then decided just to keep watching it. Wasn't until around episode 15 or so I began to get really interested in it. Then from there I was always wanting to know what happenes next. I pretty much loved Dr Tenmas character, From surgen to futurtive. He became an expert in pistols (as told be his intructor) which is because he had very steady hands as a Surgen. Why he learn so fast. That detective (can't remember his name) was so wierd O_o.
Valkyria Chronicles! I know what you mean. I had to endure a forum full of hate. I just dissapointed they really lost the plot (imo) for the final sequence of the anime. Mainly the 2nd half as I've said. Two things I was pee'd off at the most is how OP the valkyrias were. I mean wtfbbq! shooting laser beams! wiping out Mass tanks! ? that was pretty bull to me. I'd rather see them have supernatural speed and strength and able to me move so fast they are hard to shoot. Or there power has the ability to doge/deflect bullets. Shooting laser beams was lame. 2ndly... the way her *own* squad treated her when they found out she was a valkyria. I mean wtfbbq! They had been fighting side by side all this time, and that gets announced and they all are scared of her plus calling her a monster! ? wah!. Hell, if she was in my squad or my wingman, I'd be like, holyshit, we have a valkyria! awesomesause. Somone of an accient race/herratidge fighting by yourside. It'd be an asset as well as someone to be proud of. If you didnt know the person, sure you could have fear, but its someone whos been along side you all along. I was beyond pissed how they treated her. I punished that heavy in dialog. Another thing that pissed me off is the spoiler in the 2nd OP. I was soo on that trial suspecting her to be a valkyria. I was gathering my evidence, then bham, shes one in the 2nd op! I felt so robbed. I also figured out the dark calmity ;). Once I seen what Selvaria use that power. I knew what caused that destruction...... One note on Selvaria, I found her very pitiful. If you want to see a real guardian. Lt Hawkeye from Full Metal Alchemist is a shinning example ^_^. Of course based on my opinion ^_^. Would of loved to seen some battles of bravery and courage, and use of Welkins ability to use battlefield tactics. But it turned into a laser beam slog fest.
Ga rei Zero. Well the main reason I watched on after the first episode was to find out what happened, what went wrong and if there are any survivers. Its very evidencess, that there was a possible inside job. The squads HQ was taken out for starters. How that was breached is unknown, I had hoped to find answers. 2ndly, I beleive it was an assassination of Squad 4's leader. Theres no explanation why she would show up there. If you remember the briefing, they drew the monster to a sucluded place out of sight and harm. That way no civilians would have gotten hurt in the crossfire. Then after they completed the mission, they were ambushed by whatshername. Knowing those two had known each other in the past. It was a clear assassination, especially the words she spoke before his death. He was targeted purposely. When the series ended, we never did learn of the true reason for his assassination. Yet there were no survivers either. It seems the *whole* of squad four was indeed wiped out. Thats a huge chunk of storyline there. Yet we never will find out what really went wrong. Other than that girl turning to the dark side. I judged it under my critera (scored it 6), but if I had to score it on my personal emotions, I'd give no higher than 4.
oh and Horo ftw! Noticed her on your favourits, shes one of my 10 too O_o
oh what a novel O_o
