Tales of Symphonia The Animation: Sylvarant-hen

Both animations are from the Tales Series. In addition, both animations are very brief retelling of the plot that occurred in the game. 

Well they're both part of the Tales of series. And Phantasia is actually a supposed sequel to Symphonia. They're both really great series and have lovable characters. Symphonia has just been made but it's very nice...especially after just seeing the first episode. So if you did like Phantasia, definitely check out Symphonia. And the games too ^^ 

Although Tales of Phantasia is better both are OVA's made from games.  

They are both based off the Tales series videogames. Classic traditional swordsmen main characters, a heroine, and comrades out to save the world from evil or disaster. 

Based on the "Tales" franchise, the story takes place on a sword fighting fantasy setting where the characters are fighting monsters that are occupying in a town or area. An antagonist is present where they have goals in their mind; either destructive or something that brings "peace." There are rushed out scenes, and very short story but action and character were likable.  

Same director for the game and it is a great Tales of Movie 

Based on the video games, the "Tales" series focuses on the main characters who are caught in a conflict between politics, war, and their close friends. As a result, they go in an adventure to either stop an antagonist from reaching it's goal, or preventing the upcoming war between nations. The settings and characters are different, but they have the same content in it such as swords, magic, war, and politics. Symphonia, is an OVA series and focus on the main characters stopping from the bad guy's goals and rescuing a friend. Vesperia is a prequel movie, follows the main characters who are knights before. 

Both have a similar RPG style and are animes based on previous games. ToS however has a quicker plot with only 4 episodes as an OVA. 

Both Tsubasa and Tales have a similar type of storyline and are both fantasy stories set in another world with lots of action and plot development. However, Tsubasa is a series and Tales is a 4 ep OVA ( with a 4 ep sequel) so ToS has a faster pace. 

Set in a fantasy world like setting, the main characters have two goals that they must complete: Preventing other nations for starting a war, and saving the world. The Tales, are based on the RPG video games adapted from an anime. There are rushed scenes and several materials were cut off, but it was enjoyable. The characters and setting are different, but they are sort of the same. Abyss is a full series animated by Sunrise, while Symphonia is an OVA series, followed by two sequels, animated by Ufotable.  

Both anime are set in a fantasy world. The main characters are a group of people of different races. They go on a journey to save the kingdom. There's also romance between some of them and some touching moments. Both of them are also based on a video game.
