Dareka no Manazashi

Both feature heartwarming stories that are narrated by old cats living alone with a girl. The girls in both anime have trouble with life and are distanced from their family. It is the cat that brings the family together. Makoto Shinkai is involved with both works. 

Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko and dareka no Manazashi are both very similar in tone and atmosphere, cool tones and a sad underlying feeling with a heartwarming ending. The main character in each series are very similar, young female aduts living on their own gaining independence from their parents. In these two series they also have a large focus around their cat and family. If you enjoyed one you will be pleased with the other for another emotional ride.

Special ones, including pets. She and Her Cat: Everything Flows and Someone's Gaze are both anime featuring family bonds as far down as being between humans and pets. Both anime having pets being with a cat. Both are good short anime, made by the same director Makoto Shinkai. 

Both these shorts have, apart from stunning visuals and beautiful music, are set some,where in the future, and feature the same underlying theme - love between family members. 

Short yet incredibly touching and well-animated films about family love  

Distance families. Shelter and Someone's Gaze follow characters who have a distance relationship with their family members, with nostalgic playbacks of memories taking place in the separation. Though Shelter has a dark history behind Rin's separation, Someone's Gaze is more about Aya's growing into an adult, and how that affects your connections. Both are good short anime with Shelter being a popular music video, and Someone's Gaze being eye-candy. 

Both are animated short-films revolving around rather, narrating the lives of two girls, individually. The stories in both the works of Makoto Shinkai are narrated throughout by an unknown narrator whose identity gets revealed in the climax, in a subtle yet beautiful manner. Both the stories involve cats who form the essential element of the short-films.

Distanced. Cross Road and Someone's Gaze both follow someone who is far apart from someone else. Though Cross Road follows complete strangers, Someone's Gaze follows the distance of a family. Both are great visual works directed by the same director Makoto Shinkai and made by the same studio CoMix Wave Films.  

Both have story about a girl got trouble when she grow up and she can't live like she used to be.
