Maria-sama ga Miteru

They have similar elements: All girls school, sisterhood, shojo-ai 

This one is easy. They're both set in a Catholic all girls school and share the same themes like yuri and sisterhood relationships. Strawberry Panic takes the yuri a bit more further, though. I think the anime's demographics might be different. Marimite is definitely meant for girls, not sure about Strawberry Panic. 

They are both set in all-girl's schools with very close relationships between the students. Strawberry Panic also parodies some events from Maria-sama when the piano is played and when the statue of Mary is shown in the halls. They also have shoujo-ai, though in Maria-sama, it is more subtextual. 

Strawberry Panic is pretty much MariMite, but the characters are all raging lesbos. Not that I'm complaining... 

All seasons are very good :D it's like Strawberry Panic because they are both Catholic and religious, the love is inevidable~ <3333 

Though a lot of people say it's almost alike I think it has big differences. In 'Maria sama ga miteru' it's more about bounds and friendship, but still so cute and lovely. I love how the characters react to each otherand the drawing is amazing. It underlines the sweetness of deep bounds and is very romantic and deep at the same time. The story plot is quite boring sometimes but on the other hand all the sweetness in it makes it worth the watch. Also there are so damn funny scenes you'll roll on the floor laughing. 

Maria-sama ga miteru is shoujo-ai, but a lot more subtle than strawberry panic. The two stories have certain similarities, but Maria-Sama ga miteru is not as hyperactive as SP.  

Put simplly, both of these anime are about school life in an all girls catholic school, both of the main charaters are new students and have an admiration for their senior which leads as the main narrative structure and share simular personality traits. There is a noticeable yuri theme but only Strawberry Panic takes it further than friendship whereas Marmite seems to centralise more around a school life theme.  

As many stated above series are similar because both are about all girls school only that in Strawberry Panic yuri is straight forward while here it is more of a tease, only Sei came out of closet. We also have an upperclasman who at first tried to be distant from our main heroine. What makes Maria-sama series better for me is that not EVERYONE are gay for each other. We actually have some male characters and girls who show some kind of interest in guys, Eriko would be the best example. So yeh, you should watch the series. Also in comparison to many other anime, Maria-sama gets better with each season. Season 3 and 4 are a MUST. read more

Both about an all girls school, and the new student there. Both are really good, but strawberry panic has yuri just like BAM! there in your face!  

General principles of these two shows are the same except slight differences in the amount of drama and Yuri/Shoujo-ai. Honestly after watching the first episode of Maria, my brain mixed the shows up enough that i ended up thinking i had already watched it. 

Strawberry Panic is essentially a love letter to Maria-sama ga Miteru, sharing many similarities with its predecessor. Watching Strawberry Panic after Maria-sama ga Miteru is almost like playing a "spot the similarity" game, in fact. However, Maria-sama is heavier in both the drama and character development departments while much lighter when it comes to the yuri, one particular instance notwithstanding. 

The setting is very similiar, as well as the characters. They both take place at a Catholic all-girls school. They both have close relationshipS between girls/GirlxGirl couples. They can both be considered shoujo ai series, although Strawberry Panic more explicitly so (Maria-sama ga Miteru is more hinting about it). Shizuma is very similiar to Sachiko, and Nagisa is very similiar to Yumi. Both Nagisa and Yumi are also new students at their respective school, and both Shizuma and Sachiko have high status and are well-respected among the students. Miyuki and Yoko are very similiar as well, they even look alike. In Strawberry Panic, the religious theme is a bit toned down compared to Maria-sama ga Miteru, where it's a very important part of the setting. Both of the shows have girls admiring their older "sisters" and classmates, often in a romantic way. If you like one you would probably like the other, but know that Maria-sama ga Miteru is a lot less "obvious" with their relationships and that it's a bit more slow-paced and calm in comparison. read more 

Early 00's shoujo-ai anime set in a prestigious all-girl school, with older girl x smaller girl relationship dynamics that is set up by a school system. Those two are practically the same anime, really. 

They both focus on girl groups and friendship and give the same relaxation effect when watching. Both portray a smooth, non-violent slice of life and pure relationships.  

The two are both character-driven series about a close group of friends. They share the same slow pace, wonderful character interactions, and heartwarming moments. The narrative structures are also somewhat similar: a trio of junior-senior bonds within its characters that are tested and proven throughout the series. 

Both of these series are gentle, slow-paced, character-driven shows. Over the course of both series, you really get to know and understand every character, their motivations and their relationships with one another. Maria-sama ga Miteru is a little bit heavier on the drama and the Romantic Two-Girl Friendship than Aria, but they have a similar focus on passing the torch to the next generation, whether it's becoming Prima Undines, or Roses of the Yamayurikai council. 

-There are sempai-kouhai relationships between 3 girl groups. -They are beautiful slice of life that take you into their world and do not let you go. -Both protagonists are "angels without wings". 

Character based drama about personal growth in a professional environment, with a clear female hierarchy. The Soers system and the Undine system have many similarities (senpai-kohai pairs). Story wise, it's a deep dive into the characters of the ensemble cast, which come in different stages of development from shy "bouton" to matured "rose". Tone and grace are also very similar, and there is a "main couple" from an otherwise almost equal large cast the narration follows. 

While Oniisama e undoubtedly tops Maria-sama ga Miteru in both storytelling and art, both are great series and they have a lot in common. Both are set in exclusive, extremely idealized all-girls schools in Tokyo. Both feature childish, naive protagonists who, completely unexpectedly, become involved with elite groups in their schools. Both groups are populated by ridiculously beautiful, wealthy, talented, etc. girls who often carry heavy burdens. Both protagonists are ambivalent about whether they belong in the group and both experience some amount of ostracization by the rest of the school because they clearly don't (although Yumi is definitely better off than Nanako here). And, of course, both are centered around pure love between girls. read more 

both stories are Yuri and they both are about a girl who is new in girls high school and in a different society .. but personally I prefer Oniisama because the story holds a deeper meaning .. the heroine's indulgence within the lives of the girls around her.. Nanako the heroine will be ingulfed inside the lives of the 3 adored girls in school : Fukiko (Miya-sama) the rich and powerful girl who's the head of a society called sorority and every girl is seeking her attention in school wanting to get in that sorority, Kaoru the head of the basketball team who has left school for a year because of a mystery disease, and finally the dreamy and troubled Rei (Saint Juste-sama) who's always wears a black suit (like men) and using drugs as her salvation from her sorrowful life .. Rei and Fukiko have a deep secret and only Rei's best friend kaoru knows about.. why does Rei love Fukiko so much ? and why does Fukiko resent Rei so much? and what is the mystery that kept Kaoru away from school for a whole year ? and why did Fukiko choose the plain looking, not so rich Nanako to become a member in the sorority even though she knew that Nanako will be bullied for it ? these are some of the questions U will ask while watching this masterpiece .. and the answers are very shocking .. you won't be able to stop watching this anime .. read more 

Premise and overarching story are very similar: Elite all girls school, yuri relations and overtones, elite group within the elite (sorority/council), first world rich girl problems are key plot elements. In both stories a rather normal girl is selected into the elite group for mysterious reasons, and the overarching plot deals with the "why". The character archetypes found have similarities as well. Both are ensemble cast with one elevated main couple, who have a yuri relation. The main difference is that Oniisama picks much darker themes (suicide, drugs, terminal disease) and creates over the top melodrama with them. Maria-sama picks trivial themes more common in school comedy (first kiss, sleep over, group trip) and creates calm narrative with only sprinkles of melodrama of it - to the point it becomes almost iyashikei. read more

both animes about only girls schools and both are somehow related to maria-sama and kind of Religious! both are pretty nice and have kind of calm atmosphere though maria holic is funnier!! 

Maria+Holic is pretty much a parody of the Catholic girl's school life that Marimite portrays. 

Maria Holic is a parody of the entire shoujo yuri genre in all its floweriness, but especially of Maria-sama ga Miteru. The school in Maria-Holic is Lillian Jogakuen with the over-the-top prettiness pushed to the next degree. Several of the characters are similar. Even the soundtrack seems based on Marimite's at times. No one would like Maria Holic more than a real Marimite-holic. 

First: They're both under the genre shoujo-ai/yuri though the main in Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru is a male. Second: Both anime has the soeur-system, or the sister-system. Third: Both series is catholic, though you'll see some buddhism in Marimite. So if you liked the Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru-serie, you will propably like Marimite. 

Both are slice of life set in an all girls school.  

Both school slice of life's theme around the innocent and pure kind of yuri within an all-girls 'ojousama' academy where the act of having a sœur ("sister") is prevalent in their school systems. Marimite has its mix of lighthearted fluff and serious drama whereas Otoboku is rather hyperactive and fun most of the time compared to. However, the chemistry of characters within both are strong and their relationships with each other are a big focus to their character developments. Marimite is more focused on the sœur aspect throughout the series in its entirety whereas Otoboku focuses mainly on the MC's life at school, who is actually male in disguise, and so the "sister" aspect isn't per se the main focal point to the plot but is important in some cases. read more 

A twin tailed freshwoman girl gets entangled into the student council due to the insistence of a hot long black haired second year girl, Yumi and Sachiko's school is a Catholic girls only, while Yuu's and Touko's is secular and mixed genre. Both are also romantic shoujo ai, Yumi and Sachiko are very close to each other, due to the more solemn ambiance of Maria-sama, but never crosses the line to overt lesbian love; Touko's love is more unidirectional in the first part of Bloom into You, and Yuu is mostly indifferent at the start of the anime. Maria-sama ga Miteru has a expansive cast and gives more time to the relationships and problems of the other girls, but Yagate Kimi ni Naru is mostly focused in the main pairing of Yuu and Touko.  read more 

Several times while watching WataYuri, I found myself wishing that A Maiden's Heart, the series Café Liebe's role-play gimmick is based on, was real. Turns out it IS real, and it's called Maria-sama ga Miteru. To be honest, I'd known about MariMite for years, but I always slept on it because of its outdated art style. I'm kicking myself now - from the very first episode, the fluffy, relaxing vibes alone were enough to tell me why it's considered a shoujo ai classic.
