Strawberry Panic is really the same principle, just the drama's less heavy and they take the shoujo-ai/yuri subtext further and out into the open.

Both series have tight sempai/kohai bonds between the main female characters. The three Rose families of Maria-sama ga Miteru are mirrored by the three rival Undine companies of Aria. Both series are light-hearted slice of life stories that never fail to make you smile and feel warm inside (but Marimite can get a little dramatic at times). Also, funnily enough, both series follow the pattern of having a first TV season, a second TV season, and third OVA series, and then a fourth TV series! :D

Maria-sama ga Miteru (and just about the whole of the shoujo yuri genre) owes a lot to Onii-sama e and, while the latter is far more melodramatic, the similarities are still very much visible, not least in the yuri subtext.

both shows involve a girl that moves to an all girls school. also, both schools in both shows focus on religion.

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru is a little less dramatic and a little more humorous than Maria-sama ga Miteru, but they both have the older-sister/younger-sister catholic school relationship theme.

Same kind of premises, relationship between a senior with their junior with a specific reasons that tied them together. Light hearted, and if you like one, probably you will also like the other

Maria Watches Over Us is taking place at a prestigious all-girls Catholic school in Tokyo, where students are offered to be the soeur - "sisters" of the older students and guide them during their years at the academy. Watayuri is a melodrama taking place at the world of "Café Liebe", a theme café set as a prestigous all-girls high school with Yuri vibes. So Yuri is My Job is the latest in the Girls-Love series which has a kind of similar setting to Maria Watches Over Us, which is the older series that takes place at a catholic school while in WataYuri, characters aren't actually at  read more

This recommendation is more valid for episode 2 of Cream Lemon where there are relationships between girls in a Catholic school, the only difference is that Cream Lemon is hentai.

A love story between sister Unlike citrus, marimete do not use sexual approach as part of plot story. You can see how Yumi-Sachiko build relationship as sister is much more realistic compared with Yuzu-Mei.

Both have someone everyone respects who is perfect but has a kind heart

Let's be honest. You probably don't love Sound Euphonium for the amazing musical aspect or 'the school club life' (although those come as a bonus), but for: - everyday, grounded character drama that doesn't dwell into tragedy territory; - the fact that there are subtle details that improve the enjoyment by quite a bit and make every action perfectly understandable; - the strong and rather big cast of characters lead by a really good mc, out of whom at least a few traits, or even personalities as a whole, are relatable; - the school setup (although in MariMite it is a catholic church one, with all the further implications); -  read more

Well both have some yuri undertones to them that might become more apparent later in the story. They also have some drama in them between the main characters and their student counsels. Though I will say this Maria-sama ga Miteru is more slice of life whereas Revolutionary Girl Utena is more supernatural fantasy with some action and sword fighting.

Both of them take place in a prestige, noble setting with an all-girls surrounding. The MCs in both shows resemble each other, Sarasa and Yumi being energetic and positive and their counterparts Sachiko and Ai being more distant with a cold and cool aura. Both shows give off the same Shoujo and Drama vibes and are generally very similar to each other.

Mato is similar to Yumi. Yomi is similar to Sachiko. Both anime show human relationships develop and also the problems they face. Also both Mato and Yumi would do whatever for their friend. There is also drama in both of them.

Both shows are, despite clear differences in genre and setting, highly impactful, character-focused dramas which turn melodrama into an art, elegantly balancing genuine emotional investment in a surprisingly lovable cast and a flair for the patently ridiculous - space vampires and Valentines' Day chocolate might as well be one and the same.

The only similarity is the base of the story...... Of course, the topping of the story are very different to compare with.

Both are set in an all-girls high school. The overall art style is similar, but Marimite's execution is much more polished and detailed. Marimite is similar to HSG in the eye candy aspect. The plot differs greatly. HSG is a light and happy comedy, with sexual sprinklings here and there. Marimite explores the themes of clandestine affairs and struggles with sexuality all behind the closed doors of a private Catholic girls school. It's definitely much more serious, but it doesn't go without its moments.

While Blue Drop invests a lot of time in devoloping a sci-fi plot that is utterly absent in Marimite, it remains that both titles have a strong yuri element. The slice of life moments that take place at an all girls' academy are present in both anime and draw them together, despite considerable differences story-wise.

Well developed shoujo-ai stories. Both share a refreshing calm atmosphere with soft colors that sometimes can get really tense.

Both anime present the daily life of girls in an all girls' school. While the action in Marimite is set in the present, the general 'idyllic' atmosphere makes it really similar to that of Ochame na Futago. Of course, the latter has no shoujo-ai undertones.

The girls who appear in the first episode: Yoriko and Kanako are similar to the characters in Maria Sama ga Miteru and the school is a bit similar too. Kanako is like Sachiko or Youko and Yoriko is like Yoshino, in appearance too, with the only difference that Yoriko is slightly shy and not so energetic. Also the relationship between this girls resembles a lot the soeur system.

Both series show the intimacy of female friendship and romance in the school days, but in different ways. Marimite is like a HQ portrait in a catholic school while Sasameki Koto is more like an everyday photo. Sasameki koto is around 70% comedy 30% romance.

Similar drawing/animation style. The main characters remind me of Sachiko and Youko. Both under the Studio DEEN company.

Koyomi is similar to Yumi and Yumiko is similar to Sachiko. In both stories relationships between girls are shown. And apart from that in both of them there is an episode in witch a character does not know how to eat a hamburger.
