Tamako Love Story is my favourite anime and an amazing romance. Tho it's good to watch Tamako Market before it. It's not required, but it enhances the experience. Other than that, I strongly recommend Yagate Kimi ni Naru, which dives deeply into the concept of love and Tsuki ga Kirei, which depicts a really realistic romance between two middle-schoolers.
