Mushoku Tensei II: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu Part 2

Following the faceless god Hitogami's advice seems to have worked wonders for Rudeus Greyrat. After enrolling into the University of Magic as he was told, Rudeus reunites with his childhood friend Sylphiette, who put a valiant effort into curing his condition. The two grow ever closer together and decide to host a wedding party, inviting the friends they have made over the years to announce and formalize their relationship.

For all his recent blessings, however, Rudeus' troubles are far from over. The research he is helping Shizuka Nanahoshi conduct hits a bottleneck, sending her into a deep slump much like he experienced in his previous life. Furthermore, a letter from his father, Paul, brings complications to Rudeus' relationships, and Sylphiette still knows next to nothing about his real background. In the face of these issues, Rudeus will have to apply the lessons he has learned in this new world to navigate through the challenges that come with living a life to its fullest.

It surprised me, I was shocked by the quality.

Mushoku Tensei II surprised me with its direction because each episode caught me in a way I didn't imagine. I usually have a problem with animes that I've already read/read the manga because since I already know the story I'm not surprised by the story, but that wasn't the case this time. I feel like the fact that the work is following the direction of the light novel and not the manga was what surprised me because the manga isn't keeping up with the anime (especially with the third season on the way).

Overall, this second season has ... good sound quality (except for the opening, that one is boring), excellent animation and an engaging story. This was the first Isekai in which I saw that the protagonist, despite being very strong, is not invincible. The feeling that he could die at any moment due to a mere mistake was something that was very well shown by the direction this time. Of course, the animation was also very present to help in this aspect, with a lot of emphasis on the eyes, which allowed the characters' feelings to be shown even without them saying anything.

I really liked it, my enthusiasm for this work was rekindled after this season. I eagerly await the next season and the continuation of this great and wonderful story.

Me surpreendeu, fiquei em choque com a qualidade.

Mushoku Tensei II me surpreendeu com sua direção pois cada episodio me prendeu de uma forma que não imaginei. Em geral tenho um problema com animes dos quais já li/leio o mangá pois como já sei da historia eu não me surpreendo com a historia porem não foi o que aconteceu dessa vez. Sinto que o fato de a obra estar seguindo o rumo da light novel e não o do mangá foi o que me pegou de surpresa pois o mangá não esta acompanhando o anime (ainda mais com a terceira temporada a caminho).

No geral essa segunda temporada tem uma boa qualidade sonora (menos a oppening, essa dai é chata), uma excelente animação e uma historia envolvente. Esse foi o primeiro Isekai em que vi que o protagonista apesar de muito forte não é invencível, a sensação de que ele pode morrer a qualquer momento por um mero deslize foi uma coisa que foi muito bem mostrada pela direção dessa vez, claro que a animação tambem foi muito presente para ajudar nesse aspecto com muito destaque nos olhos o que deixou mostrar o sentimento dos personagens mesmo sem eles disserem nada.

Gostei muito, meu animo com essa obra reacendeu depois dessa temporada, aguardo ansiosamente pela proxima temporada e pela continuação dessa grande e maravilhosa historia.

Mixed Feelings

While the first part of season 2 was overall a pretty good adaptation of the story, it tended to skim or outright skip many moments of volumes 7, 8 and 9 (the adapted volumes). While this was a detriment, the important beats were kept and masterfully adapted to the screen.

That can't be said for the second cour. The sheer amount of important scenes skipped and/or poorly adapted, specially during the second half of the story. The one episode I consider to be on par with season 1 in terms of direction and adaptation is episode 5 (Norn's episode), the rest are either lackluster or downright ... bad. It is highly advisable to read the Light Novel if you're a fan of the story up until this point.

The first season was actually decent, fantastic even...

But since then, the series has devolved into this isekai/harem mess with way too many story lines and characters crammed into one anime. Some people might prefer this and there's nothing wrong with it, however every "good" anime or should I say script, always has a "main story" or an objective which the series has to follow. This particular anime does not seem to have such an objective while also not being the random comedy show you watch and not care about it (the story). So you have to be very invested to keep up with this nonsense. ... This also might seem to be a trend with isekais and is the reason why Mushoku Tensei is objectively, just not good...

On the positive note: Rudeus' character development has been done very well and he is a well rounded character overall.

This show has attracted quite a lot of controversy regarding the relations of seemingly underage characters. This is nothing new in anime as many of you know already. However, this will ruin Mushoku Tensei (S2 specifically) for a plenty of people with a working moral compass.
