Oh hello. I didn't expect someone to stop but, I should say at least something. I'm someone in my early 30's (I did feel old typing this out) who tries to get by in life.

I guess if I had to say something about my username, it weirdly doesn't come from Fullmetal Alchemist. It kinda comes from me hearing the title of Full Metal Jacket one day and going "that does sound good". The "masify" part used to be part of the full username but most just kinda kept calling me fullmetal (or full) and it just went from there.

Anyways, I started this anime journey of mine back in 2011, when I had to be maybe 17-18, still in high school (I believe I was about to enter 12th grade at the time and had come across anime throughout my summer break) and after going through a few shows throughout the rest of 2011, a part of me knew I was going to keep it around as a hobby. (Though why it took me about 6 years later to get around to making a MAL account is beyond me but I am more relieved I made it since it could be a massive pain tracking everything I've came across with over the years).

But really as I think about it, it does feel like the visual medium I can claim as a "special interest". As someone who has autism and has had to deal with it over the years regardless if I like the annoying burnouts or not, my special interests kind of kept changing over the years, though this has been the one that has aided me when I needed it.

Of course, anime isn't the only media I am really active with (it would feel a bit if that were the case). Manga and light novels I do consume whenever I am able to. I have been able to read somewhat in Japanese (even if my speaking skills are limited) so I am able to own some of the stuff I go through. I also go through books, and films (even if I don't do these often). I will like to experience a JDrama at some point or even check out some Kamen Rider.

When I'm not doing any of those, I try to write. I have two stories I've been dabbling around with for the past couple of years. One of them is an urban fantasy that feels like it is a mix of Shin Megami Tensei and a romcom ln that I read (I know it's oddly specific but it is the mindset I have writing it). There is also an isekai but that one keeps being in research hell so I don't think about it too much...

My ratings are more based on how I personally feel about something. Sure while enjoyment can be a factor and since I tend to go in with an open mind with whatever piece of work interests me, it probably explains why I don't give out a lot of low scores. But what can make something a favorite for me is how much I personally connect with it and of that same connection could stick around if I were to revisit in the near future as I sometimes like to revisit series (though I try not to do this often so I won't get burnt out of a series which sadly has happened once or twice).
