Welcome to my profile!
I rate according to my own tastes.
I have been watching anime for 7 years, but I am not very active.
I only watch what interests me.
I enjoy genres like mystery, thriller, seinen, psychology, adventure, supernatural, and fantasy.
I don't prefer isekai, harem, romance, ecchi, mecha, comedy, shonen, slice of life, shojo, CDGTI, Ghibli films, and generally most webtoons.
There may be exceptions.
I place great importance on originality.
I don't like clichés or simple things.
I really enjoy anime that develop their stories around a specific concept and are not afraid to be creative.
If the plot is filled with uncertainties, if the story is unsure of what it is telling, and if it does not explain enough to the viewer, I won't like it, especially if it is too simple or clichéd and fails to go beyond that, or if the plot repeats itself.
The reason my ratings are low is generally that I watch bad anime and I don't rate the good ones. However, the anime I usually rate above 3 is worth watching.
Additionally, I don't rate some anime. If I haven't fully understood the anime, if I've forgotten it, or if I don't know where to categorize it, I won't give it a score.
For example, "Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou" is a comedy that lacks a plot. I generally don't watch this kind of anime, so I don't rate it because there is no story or plot.
In stories told in a confusing way like "Lain," I pay attention to ensure that there are no gaps in the narrative. If the viewer cannot understand despite paying close attention, then it has not been explained to the audience, which is a narrative failure. Or if it has been left deliberately open-ended, that also negatively affects the story. I usually rate series based on this, as many of them have original themes and nice psychology and dialogues, but they fail in storytelling. Therefore, please don't judge me; this is how I see it, and I don't think they deserve to be called masterpieces. How can a story that doesn't tell itself be a masterpiece?
There is no anime that deserves a 10/10.
However, if there is a good plot and it is well executed, and the dialogues and characters are sufficient, and it is not afraid to be creative, then I will give it a high score.
It can have a simple plot and story, but in my opinion, it needs to deepen it; otherwise, it will be inadequate.
You can tell even the process of baking bread with a good story and affect people.
For example, "Frieren" presents the story of "understanding an elf's emotions" very well, but it leaves it at that.
It does what it needs to do and progresses with a very predictable and unsurprising story. Similarly, the plot is weak, so the story remains superficial and simple. It is sufficient but nothing more. On the other hand, "Dungeon Meshi" is similar to "Frieren" but has developed and deepened even the concept of eating and managed to connect it to a story better.
Especially if you ask why I mention "Frieren," there are many anime that present a topic similar to it adequately but are not deep.
"Frieren" is just an example. And the most praised anime are generally the same.
They hold back on originality or creativity, thus making a flat story seem perfect. However, in my opinion, this is not what a good story deserves.
Additionally, I have the following thoughts about fan service:
It manifests in different ways in every anime.
Its presence or absence generally affects my affection, not my score.
If fan service is not included in the plot, I do not deduct points for it.
For instance, romantic scenes with a bath scene are very clichéd and included in the plot. If it is included in the plot, it detracts from the quality of the writing. However, if a girl is fighting and they deliberately show some details, I do not deduct points for that because it is fan service not included in the plot and can be explained with a logical reason, and it does not affect the storyline because what matters there is that the girl is fighting.
Direct ecchi and hentai are contrary to what we call a story; an ecchi or hentai does not present a story, but if it is used correctly in this series, it can be acceptable and counted as fan service. For example, "Mushoku Tensei" is fundamentally based on sexuality, and the main character is already perverted, so the presence of ecchi in the story is natural. However, in most series, ecchi is something that harms the structure of the story.
Lastly, I highly recommend "Shadow House." Generally, I think it's a manga that everyone can read.
It's also my favorite and aligns well with my quality judgment. It is definitely worth giving a chance.
Thank you for reading <3 I am open to requests.

Sorry for taking so long to accept it - I've been pretty inactive here in recent months.
You have a really nice profile. I like that you took the time to explain your taste in anime, as well as what your ratings mean. I definitely agree that there's more to a good story than just being "without flaws".
The old adaptation yeah it wasn't anything impresive , not sure about the remake
But I will check the manga for sure I've heard good things about it
Personally I would recommend either "Golden Kamuy" or "Kingdom" animes if you can get past the awful animation in the first season for both if not then manga
Also MDZS and Link Click ... Probably the best animes that have come out of China
And I've read that you are not too much into slice of life ... But I would also recommend Skip to Loafer
Love me some Ciel
