Uzumaki

I've seen the low score and the negative reviews of some people before I started watching saying it's not very good, but I wanted to see for myself if that's truly the case.

I think the black and white art style is really helping set the mood. At first it was difficult to get used to, but later on, it became natural.

The story at first seems like an anthology, but it's actually connected. It's not something amazing, but I kind of liked it regardless.

Something that I did not enjoy was how complacent characters were with the bizarre things that were happening and how easily they accepted ... them or got used to them. Maybe this builds upon the fact that they are all residents of this place, but at first struck me as some type of mass mild insanity that everyone has for some reason.

What I didn't really like was the last episode and how it changed things and the whole perspective. It became, should I say, too epic for my taste. I prefer when things are more simple and extraordinary events stand out more because of it and when the characters react more realistically to them.

Overall, the anime was good, much better than what most people with negative reviews are complaining about. My only big complaint is that it didn't have more episodes, for example, at least 12. It would have been much better if it did.

I think it's worth watching and not as bad as people say, where the major complaint is "it isn't as good as the previous Ito Junji" anime, which I don't think is true, they are both equally entertaining, but the other one had more episodes and it was an anthology so there was more content to experience, that was its only aspect that makes it better in my opinion.

Its like watching a Beautifull Bird flies that flew down into the pit of nothingness, the First Episode were the bird is flying elegantly , but as its progression to the episode 2, its wings towards to the pit. and so on...

Just like other junji ito's adaptation anime , this one is the worse imo, just because of the rushed plot and quality of the show is lacking quality control and some management issue over production . even they admitted it. The visual is the one thing that keep me watching this show to the finals. its the one that consistent over the whole show ... , the Manga aesthetic. The quality on the other hand , keeps falling of after Episode 1 which is odd , considering the time they were spent on this. The plot is just one of the best junji ito's works, they keep some important and touch of the source.

Of course i would try to recommend to THOSE who have will watching the show with everything that its offer.

"UZUMAKI: HOW TO RUIN A STORY?"

I was very excited about this anime and waited for a whole year. The first episode was really good in terms of screenplay, animation style, and sound design. The spiral concept was great and some frames from the episode 1 were actually distrubing. However, the most important aspect which is the animation style, started to decline after the first episode.

Overall, the graphic horror scenes were actually well-executed, but they weren’t really scary. I really respect Junji Ito and his creative stories, but the drop in animation quality ruined the anime for me.

However, if you’re one of those people who don’t ... really care about animation inconsistencies, these four episodes might still be enjoyable for you.

I haven’t watched many animes this year, but this one was a pure disappointment.
