Let's go, 2025! 彡(-ω-;)彡⋆𐙚₊˚*⊹♡⋆₊˚⊹♡⋆𐙚⊹*
Hello! I’m HaruHaruMon—I mainly read manga but I’m trying to watch more anime, and make a dent in my giant to-watch list, oops...
Let’s be friends!
I send out requests to anyone I think looks cool, and I’ll accept all requests. Help me add to my Interest Stacks, I love making them and improving them, so suggestions are very very welcome!
I score based on personal enjoyment; so some animanga may be ranked below shows they’re *technically* better than, but I enjoyed them less.
Some animanga are so technically good they get a very high score, but don’t appear on my favourites because I may have personally enjoyed them less than shows ranked below them (if that makes sense!)
10 = Incredible, either a technical masterpiece or just tapped right into my heart!
9 = Amazing!! Alot of these are a 10/10 in pure enjoyment, but small factors stopped me from giving them the full 10
8 = I loved these! They really stuck with me, and I’d likely reread them
7 = Good! I enjoyed these, but they didn’t stick with me so much afterwards (Probably my most used rating!)—but they’re still fab reads!
6 = The good side of ok! I enjoyed reading them but they didn’t fully hook me and I probably wouldn’t reread/watch them, or think about them much after
5 = Meh? Nothing terrible but not super enjoyable either. Truly mid!
4 = Eh. Not a fan.
3 = Not fun to read at all.
2 = Horrible
1 = (ō_ō) No… just……. no……… (ō_ō)

Secret Santa has just been revealed and it looks it was you who wrapped the gift for me!
I've come here to say thanks to you in person and also to give you some feedback.
So Kotaro lives alone was pretty much perfection! It's not only a show that really touched me and had some great moments, it's also one I would never have picked up if it wasn't recommended to me. I got the wrong impression of the tone by the artstyle.
Monster is a show I have actually watched long ago. So long, that I haven't really noticed I never added it to my list. It's a good call, I need to rewatch it!
Thanks so much for your manga recs! I think this was the most excited I have been for secret santa recs so far - been doing it for 5-6 years now.
I finished Atarashii Ashi de Kakenukero, and it was a really nice read. It definitely hooked me at the beginning despite my avoidance of topics that look like they might be heavy. It was a thoughtful picture of disability but it was never too heavy a read. I would actually say it was pretty breezy - which is great for me. Kikuzato was a lovely lead, and his development was thoughtfully created and was joyful to read. I ended up giving it a 6, which for me is a good score! You might still be wondering why not higher. Although the story was indeed character driven, I didn't find it particularly..."relationship driven." Kikuzato was often very absorbed by his own issues - which makes sense of course - but really so was the story. He didn't give much thought to others beyond being a good kid who wants to do good by them, none of his motivations really had much to do with other characters. Most of the supporting cast felt there to just further his growth, only present in the story as far as they can support Kikuzato, even though they were three dimensional themselves, with their own goals. All this is by no means a flaw, but just the structure of the story, and it just meant that I couldn't get very invested in the relationships themselves. I think perhaps if the story was from the ex-best friend's POV, it would have been a lot more what I tend to get enamored by. As his motivations in life were very intertwined with his relationship with Kikuzato, I found myself most engaged with him. If I had to say, the only person that really felt like he had a "personal impact" on Kikuzato was his father. And sadly, I found him to be the only bad character in the manga. He was too callous with no reason, sort of in a forced way, and then his redemption was equally swift and sort of unearned and unreflected on. So yeah, in summary, I really enjoyed Kikuzato and his growth, but as a story, I found it a bit too focused on solely that, and less on people around him in essence. Hope this makes sense to you!
I'm planning to read the other rec very soon too! Very excited for it. The setting sounds super exciting and I love stories with two male leads.
Thanks ever so much again for your thoughtful recs. And happy new year!
Have a wonderful January and a better 2025!
